The first direct measurements of neutron-proton and neutron-deuteron total cross sections in the momentum range 14 to 27 GeV/c are presented. The np total cross section apparently becomes less than the pp total cross section in this momentum region. Our results show no evidence for a rapid vanishing of the Glauber screening correction as predicted by Abers et al. on the basis of Regge theory.

Over 100 unambiguous π − + p → Λ + Λ + n events have been observed in a magnet spark chamber. The data provide good evidence for peripheral production of Λ Λ and n Λ (via meson exchange) and against peripheral n Λ (double baryon exchange). No resonances in the Λ Λ system are observed. Angular distributions and Λ( Λ ) polarizations are analysed.
Axis error includes +- 0.0/0.0 contribution (?////Corrected for neutral decays, absorption).

The np and nd total cross sections have been measured directly with a neutron beam with momenta of 4.0 ± 0.6 and 5.7 ± 0.6 GeV/ c . The data are compared with the previous nucleon-nucleon and nucleon-deuteron results, and the deuteron screening term was also evaluated. The measured total cross section are 43.1 ± 0.6 and 80.3 ± 1.9 mb at 4.0 GeV/ c and 42 ± 0.6 and 77.8 ± 1.3 mb at 5.7 GeV/ c .

Neutron-proton total cross-sections were measured in the momentum range from 8 GeV/ c to 21 GeV/ c with an accuracy of better than 2% using a 0 o neutron beam at the CERN Proton Synchrotron. The np total cross-section drops from 39.7 mb at 8 GeV/ c at 21 GeV/ c , and thus follows closely the pp total cross-sections in this momentum interval.

Approximately 700 events of the reaction K − d → K − π − pp s produced by 5.5 GeV/ c kaons were used to measure the cross section for Kπ elastic scattering in the T = 3 2 state by a Chew-Low extrapolation. The cross section does not exceed 2.1 mb and has no structure for Kπ masses from threshold up to 2.0 GeV.
Chew-Low extrapolation is used for evaluation of the K- P elastic cross section.
A systematic search for exotic states produced in K − d interactions at 3 GeV/ c is reported. From the analysis of the mass spectra of strange mesons, non-strange mesons, hyperons with S = −1 and S = −2, upper limits for the production cross sections of exotic resonances may be placed at one or two orders of magnitude smaller than for the production of normal resonances of same strangeness and baryon number.

Neutron-proton and neutron-deuteron total cross sections have been measured directly at the Princeton-Pennsylvania Accelerator using time of flight to determine the incident neutron momentum. The results cover the region from 700 to 2900 MeVc with a typical accuracy of 0.8% for each of 26 momentum bins. The data are not consistent with the most precise previous measurements in the same momentum range.
