HEPData Search

The inclusive production of charmed baryonsΛc+ by 40–70 GeV neutrons on carbon has been observed. The decays$\Lambda _c^ + \to \bar K^0 p\pi ^ + \pi ^ -$ (130 ± 18 events) andΛc+→Λ0π+π+π− (57±14 events) have been detected. The mean value ofΛc+ mass is (2,268±6) MeV/c2. The invariant cross section forX>0.5 is described byE·d3σ/dp3∝ exp(−)bPT·(1−X)n withb=(2.5±0.6) (GeV/c)−1 andn=(1.5±0.5).

Observation of a Spin 6 Neutral Meson R (2510)

In a high-statistics experiment (200 events/nanobarn) performed at the 70 GeV IHEP accelerator, a new dipion resonance has been observed in π−p collisions at 38 GeV/c momentum. The gamma-rays in reaction π−p → M0n, M0 → π0π0 → 4γ have been detected in the hodoscope spectrometer GAMS-2000. The new meson, r(2510), has a mass (2510±30) MeV/c2, a width (240±60) MeV/c2 and spin-parityJPC=6++. The production cross-section of the f, h and r mesons decreases exponentially with spin like exp [−0.9J].

A description is given of the experimental techniques and investigation results of the parameters Σ , T , P for the γ p→p π 0 reaction using linear polarized photons and a polarized proton target. The measurements have been made in the photon energy range 280–450 MeV at pion c.m. angles between 60° and 135°. The new experimental data are used in an energy-independent channel multipole analysis without the Watson theorem.
