We have measured 〈p⊥〉 as a function of multiplicity for the reaction proton (antiproton) on proton, neon, argon, and xenon. For all reactions, 〈p⊥〉 is independent of multiplicity. We observed that the pion-emission volume is the same for both hydrogen and xenon targets and has a radius about 1.5 fm. Our analysis shows no indication of a deconfinement phase transition in nuclear matter.

Annihilation and Topological Cross-sections for $P P$ and $\bar{P} P$ Interactions at 200-{GeV}/c

The NA5 collaboration Allday, J. ; Fry, J.R. ; Mason, P. ; et al.
Z.Phys.C 40 (1988) 29-39, 1988.
Inspire Record 268872 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.15563

The results of an analysis of streamer chamber data from the NA5 experiment are presented. Topological cross sections forpp and\(\bar p\)p interactions and strange neutral particle production at 200 GeV/c have been measured and (\(\bar p\)p−pp) difference cross sections have been determined. Multiplicity moments were calculated.

Multiparticle Production on Hydrogen, Argon and Xenon Targets in a Streamer Chamber by 200-GeV/c Proton and anti-Proton Beams

The Bari-Cracow-Liverpool-Munich-Nijmegen collaboration De Marzo, C. ; De Palma, M. ; Distante, A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 26 (1982) 1019, 1982.
Inspire Record 177100 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.4113

Interactions of 200-GeV/c protons and antiprotons on hydrogen, argon, and xenon targets were studied with a streamer-chamber vertex spectrometer at the CERN SPS. Results on multiplicities, rapidity distributions, and correlations are presented and compared with predictions of current models.

Charged particle multiplicities in nuclear collisions at 200-GeV/N

The NA35 collaboration Bächler, J. ; Bartke, J. ; Bialkowska, H. ; et al.
Z.Phys.C 51 (1991) 157-162, 1991.
Inspire Record 320907 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.14983

Data on multiplicities of charged particles produced in proton-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions at 200 GeV per nucleon are presented. It is shown that the mean multiplicity of negative particles is proportional to the mean number of nucleons participating in the collision both for nucleus-nucleus and proton-nucleus collisions. The apparent consistency of pion multiplicity data with the assumption of an incoherent superposition of nucleon-nucleon collisions is critically discussed.

Recent Results From the Na35 Collaboration at {CERN}

The NA35 collaboration Harris, J.W. ; Bamberger, A. ; Bangert, D. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.A 498 (1989) 133C-150C, 1989.
Inspire Record 271884 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36948

Recent results from the NA35 Collaboration are presented for the reactions of 60 and 200 GeV/nucleon p and 16 O, and 200 GeV/nucleon 32 S with various targets ranging from S to Au. Midrapidity transverse energy distributions and forward energy flow, p⊥ spectra and rapidity distributions of hadrons are presented. Two-pion interferometry results are discussed. Neutral strange particle yields and p⊥ distributions are presented. Conclusions are drawn from the experimental results.

Hadron yields and hadron spectra from the NA49 experiment

Nucl.Phys.A 610 (1996) 188C-199C, 1996.
Inspire Record 432742 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36468

Preliminary inclusive spectra of negative hadrons, net protons and neutral strange particles are presented, measured by the NA49 experiment in central Pb+Pb collisions at 158 GeV per nucleon. Comparison of their yields with those from the lighter S+S system suggests that the yields scale approximately with the number of participating nucleons.

Enhanced strange particle production, nonstatistical multiplicity fluctuations and two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations were measured in O, S-nucleus reactions at 60 and 200 GeV/nucleon. The results indicate significant collective effects in high-energy nucleus-nucleus collisions.
