Inspire Record 195613 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23833

Data are presented on elastic πp and Kp scattering for values of −t up to 2.5 and 3.5 (GeV/c)2 at incident momenta of 100 and 200 GeV/c, respectively. All of the cross sections are found to be nearly identical, although there is some momentum dependence of the π+p data; a small systematic difference observed between pion and kaon data cannot be explained by geometrical scaling.

Phys.Rev.Lett. 30 (1973) 1010-1012, 1973.
Inspire Record 84502 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21417

The differential cross section for π+p elastic scattering has been measured at 13.8 GeVc for 0.7<|t|<3.8(GeVc)2. The cross section is found to be equal to that previously obtained for π−p elastic scattering, except in the region |t|=2.8 (GeVc)2, where the π+p data do not show the prominent dip observed in π−p scattering. Data have also been obtained for 13.8−GeVc K+p elastic scattering for 0.8<|t|<2.2 (GeVc)2.

Backward π-p and K-p elastic scattering were studied at 6.9 GeV/c. The analyzing power A N of proton-proton, proton-hydrocarbon, and antiproton-hydrocarbon, scattering in the Coulomb-nuclear interference region has been measured using thhe 185 GeV/ c Fermilab polarized-proton and -antiproton beams. The results are found to be consistent with theoretical predictions within statistical uncertainties.

Analyzing powers of pion-proton elastic scattering have been measured at PSI with the Low Energy Pion Spectrometer LEPS as well as a novel polarized scintillator target. Angular distributions between 40 and 120 deg (c.m.) were taken at 45.2, 51.2, 57.2, 68.5, 77.2, and 87.2 MeV incoming pion kinetic energy for pi+ p scattering, and at 67.3 and 87.2 MeV for pi- p scattering. These new measurements constitute a substantial extension of the polarization data base at low energies. Predictions from phase shift analyses are compared with the experimental results, and deviations are observed at low energies.

C(LL) = (L, L: 0, 0) MEASUREMENTS AND A STRUCTURE DUE TO A P PARTIAL WAVE IN THE P P SYSTEM

Burleson, G.r. ; Cottingame, W.b. ; Greene, S.j. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 213 (1983) 365-370, 1983.
Inspire Record 191085 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34015

Measurements of C LL of pp elastic scattering near θ c.m. = 90° at thirteen energies between 300 and 800 MeV are reported. These, together with previous values of C NN , are used to extract values of two quantities, ƒ s and ƒ t , which contain only spin-singlet and only coupled spin-triplet partial waves, respectively. The ƒ s curve, which is not dependent on C LL , exhibits the behavior expected for the previously conjectured 1 D 2 resonance. The ƒ t curve also exhibits a resonance-like behavior, which could be due either to the 3 P 0 or the 3 P 2 partial wave.

Observation of a Diffraction Minimum in the Proton Proton Elastic Scattering at the ISR

Inspire Record 89421 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27962

We have investigated the pp elastic scattering at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR). We report results for centre-of-mass scattering angles between 30 and 100 mrad and for centre-of-mass energies of 23.5,30.7, 44.9 and 53 GeV. The elastic differential cross-section shows a diffraction-like shape with a sharp minimum at about t = −1.4 GeV 2 .

Angular dependence of the p p elastic scattering spin correlation parameter A(00nn) between 0.8 and 2.8 GeV: Results for 1.80-GeV to 2.24-GeV

Inspire Record 539075 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25464

Measurements at 19 beam kinetic energies between 1795 and 2235 MeV are reported for the pp elastic scattering spin correlation parameter A00nn=ANN=CNN. The c.m. angular range is typically 60–100°. The measurements were performed at Saturne II with a vertically polarized beam and target (transverse to the beam direction and scattering plane), a magnetic spectrometer and a recoil detector, both instrumented with multiwire proportional chambers, and beam polarimeters. These results are compared to previous data from Saturne II and elsewhere.
