The reaction e+d→e′+n+p was studied at electron scattering angles θ ⩽ 35° for four-momentum transfers of 0.39, 0.565 and 0.78 (GeV/ c ) 2 . By recording electron-neutron and electron-proton coincidences, the ratio of the electron scattering cross sections on quasi-free neutrons and protons was determined. An estimate of the binding effects, based on a Chew-Low-extrapolation, was made. Values for the neutron form factors were derived.
Axis error includes +- 0.0/0.0 contribution (Due to the different effective solid angles for neutron and proton detection in the counters).

The cross section for inelastic electron-proton scattering was measured at incident electron energies of 1.5 to 6 GeV by magnetic analysis of the scattered electrons at angles between 10° and 35°. For invariant masses of the hardonic final state W ⩽ 1.4 GeV. the measured spectra are compared with theoretical predictions for electroproduction of the Δ(1236) isobar. The magnetic dipole transition form factor G ∗ M ( q 2 ) of the (γ N Δ)-vertex is derived for momentum transfers q 2 = 0.2 − 2.34 (GeV/ c ) 2 ard found to decrease more rapidly with q 2 than the proton form factors.
Axis error includes +- 0.0/0.0 contribution.
We measured the π0 photoproduction differential cross section at 180° for a range of incident photon energies between 650 and 1750 MeV. The cross sections are dominated by the D13(1525), D15(1688), and F37(1920) resonances.

Differential cross sections for the photoproduction of single charged pions from deuterium and hydrogen have been measured at pion center-of-mass angles between 30° and 90° and at photon energies between 3.0 and 3.7 GeV. The ratio of π− to π+ cross sections from deuterium is found to be appreciably smaller than 1.

The reaction γ+p→π++n has been investigated for photon energies between 1.2 and 3 GeV and pion c.m. angles from 2.5 to 15°. The cross section is strongly peaked in the forward direction and shows resonance structure in the region of the N32*(1920) and N12*(2190).

Cross sections for the reaction γ+p→π0+p for incident gamma-ray energies of 2.0 to 5.0 GeV and for baryon four-momentum transfers squared of 0.5 to 4.0 (GeV/c)2 are presented. The results are compared with theoretical predictions based on Reggeized vector-meson exchange.

Measurements of π0 photoproduction have been made at 235, 285, 335, and 435 MeV, using a beam of polarized x rays. Using a calculated value of polarization, an analysis is made which indicates a possible need for γ, ρ, π, or γ, ω, π coupling. The polarization calculations are checked by measurements made as a function of photon production angle at 335 MeV.

The differential cross section for π+ photoproduction has been determined at 19 points, at center-of-mass angles from 30 to 150 deg, and at photon energies from 162 to 225 MeV. The data are concentrated near 180 MeV, where a full angular distribution has been determined. The relative values of the cross sections are accurate to 5% or better, and the absolute normalization is accurate to 4%. The experiment provides data of improved accuracy which are in general consistent with previous results. The extrapolation to threshold gives a value for (k*p*)(dσdΩ)* at threshold of 16.1±0.7 μb/sr, where k*, p*, and (dσdΩ)* are the photon energy, pion momentum, and differential cross section, all in the center-of-mass system.
