The ratio of neutral-current to charged-current interactions is measured to be 0.30±0.03 for isoscalar targets, in good agreement with the results of previous experiments. Two independent methods are employed for isolating neutral-current events, one based on hadronic interactions, and the other on the momentum transverse to the hadron shower. The ratio of neutral-current interactions on neutrons to those on protons is measured to be 1.08±0.19.

$\bar{\nu}_{\mu}$ Nucleon Charged Current Total Cross Section for 5 GeV to 250-GeV

Taylor, G.N. ; Cence, R.J. ; Harris, F.A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 51 (1983) 739-742, 1983.
Inspire Record 196372 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20476

The ν¯μ charged-current total cross section has been measured with the Fermilab 15-ft bubble chamber plus the external muon identifier and internal "picket fence." Beam monitoring information used for the flux calculation was obtained from Blair et al., whose detector operated in the same dichromatic beam. The present result, averaged over ν¯μ energies from 5 to 250 GeV, is σE=(0.340±0.019±0.022)×10−38 cm2/(GeV nucleon) for an isoscalar target.

Search for Top Quark and a Test of Models Without Top Quark at the Highest {PETRA} Energies

Phys.Rev.Lett. 50 (1983) 799, 1983.
Inspire Record 182337 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20549

With a PETRA energy scan in ≤30-MeV steps, the continuum production of open top quark up to 38.54 GeV is excluded. Over regions of energy scan from 29.90 to 38.63 GeV limits are set on the product of hadronic branching ratio and electronic width BhΓee for toponium to be less than 2.0 keV at the 95% confidence level. By a search for flavor-changing neutral currents in b decay, models without a top quark are excluded.

The measurement of the nonelectromagnetic forward-backward charge asymmetry in the reaction e+e−→μ+μ− at s∼34.6 GeV and in the angular region 0<|cosθ|<0.8 is reported. With a systematic error less than 1%, we observe an asymmetry of (-8.1±2.1)%. This is in agreement with the standard electroweak theory prediction of (-7.6±0.6)%. The weak-current coupling constants are also reported.

The reaction π − p→ π 0 π 0 n has been measured with a 648 channel hodoscope spectrometer for the detection of the four γ's from the π 0 decays. The π 0 π 0 D-wave is fully compatible with the f 0 contribution as it is determined in high-statistics π + π − experiments. The magnitude of the π 0 π 0 S-wave and the cosinus of its phase angle (relative to the known D-wave) are determined from fits to the π 0 π 0 angular distributions. Argand diagrams for the I = 0 amplitude S 0 are given for the range 1000 to 1500 MeV/ c 2 . Two solutions exist. One exceeds the unitarity limit above 1200 MeV/ c 2 . The other remains within the unitarity limit and is nearly elastic up to 1450 MeV/ c 2 . It indicates an S 0 wave resonance around 1300 MeV/ c 2 .

Measurement of the Ratios of $\bar{\nu}_\mu n$ to $\bar{\nu}_\mu p$ Charged Current Cross-sections at High-energies

Phys.Lett.B 107 (1981) 148-152, 1981.
Inspire Record 167732 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.39982

From the analysis of 5630 v υ and of 1372 v π charged current interactions, obtained in the BEBC bubble chamber filled with deuterium and exposed to the CERN wide band antineutrino beam, the ratios of cross section on neutron and photon targets have been measured and found to be R  σ ν)/σ v p = 0.51 ± 0.01 (±0.03) , and R  σ( ν n )/σ( v p ) = 22.2 ± 0.12 (±0.25) The dependence of these ratios on the x scaling variable shows, in a direct way, that the momentum distribution of the majority quark, u p ( x ) = d n ( x ), is broader than that of the minority quark, u n ( x ) = d p ( x ).
