The result of a search for magnetic charged particles at 70 GeV IPHE proton synchrotron is presented. Using the ferromagnetic trap method the upper limit of the magnetic monopole production cross-section in proton-nucleon collisions was found to be α (95%) ⩾ × 10 −43 cm 2 .

EXCLUSIVE RHO PRODUCTION BY VIRTUAL PHOTONS

Ahrens, L.A. ; Berkelman, Karl ; Cassel, D.G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 42 (1979) 208, 1979.
Inspire Record 129526 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20809

The cross section for production of ρ0 mesons has been measured in the reaction e+p→e+p+π++π−. The cross section is presented as a function of W, the c.m. energy of the virtual-photon-proton system, and -Q2, the square of the virtual-photon mass. The vector-dominance model is not able to describe the dependence of the cross section on the parameters Q2 and W. The slope parameter B describing the scattering of the proton exhibits a significant variation with Q2.

The production of the ω meson by virtual photons has been measured as a function of Q2 and W. The ratio of ω production to ρ0 production is independent of Q2 in contrast to indications at lower values of W.

The cross section for the fully constrained reaction ep→eppp¯ has been determined as a function of the electroproduction variables Q2 and s, in the range 0.7<Q2<3 GeV2 and 8<s<16 GeV2. Evidence is presented and cross-section estimates are made for resonances in the final-state p¯p system.

A High Statistics Study of pi+ p, pi- p, and p p Elastic Scattering at 200-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.D 24 (1981) 26, 1981.
Inspire Record 143937 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24037

We have measured π+p, π−p, and pp elastic scattering at an incident-beam momentum of 200 GeV/c in the region of −t, four-momentum transfer squared, from 0.021 to 0.665 (GeV/c)2. The data allow an investigation of the t dependence of the logarithmic forward slope parameter b≡(ddt)(lndσdt). In addition to standard parametrization, we use functional forms suggested by the additive quark model to fit the measured dσdt distributions. Within the context of this model we estimate the size of the clothed quark in the pion and proton. Limits on the elastic-scattering amplitude derived from unitarity bounds are checked, and no violations are observed.

INVESTIGATION OF THE CHARGE EXCHANGE REACTION H-3 p ---> He-3 n AT 2.5-GeV/c TRITON MOMENTUM

Blinov, A.V. ; Chuvilo, I.V. ; Ergakov, V.A. ; et al.
J.Phys.G 8 (1982) 223, 1982.
Inspire Record 154213 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.40232

The differential cross sections d sigma /dt of the reactions 3H+p to 3He+n and 3H+p to 3H+p at a triton momentum of 2.5 GeV/c (equivalent to a proton kinetic energy Tp=318 MeV) have been measured. The ITEP 80 cm hydrogen bubble chamber was exposed to a 2.5 GeV/c separated triton beam. 2350 events of the reaction 3H(p,n)3He and 2574 events of the reaction 3H(p,p)3H were selected and analysed. Calculations performed in the framework of the multiple scattering theory taking the spin-isospin structure of the NN amplitude into account fit the data very well and show the high sensitivity of the charge-exchange cross section to the double spin-flip NN amplitudes.
