Using 13.5-GeV beams at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, we have compared electron and positron inelastic scattering over the range 1.2<|q2|<3.3 (GeV/c)2, 2<ν<9.5 GeV for the four-momentum and energy transfers, respectively. We find the ratio of the cross sections to be e+e−=1.0027±0.0035 (including statistical and systematic effects), with no significant dependence on q2 or ν. This result has appreciably smaller errors than previous attempts to find two-photon-exchange effects in electron or muon scattering.

Phys.Rev.Lett. 38 (1977) 1003, 1977.
Inspire Record 112145 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21034

We report the results of a precise measurement of the K−p→K¯∘n cross section between 515 and 1065 MeV/c in steps of 10 MeV/c. The statistical errors are less than 1%, a major improvement in accuracy over previous work. No evidence is found for the new I=1 K¯N resonances at 546 and 602 MeV/c reported recently by Carroll et al.

Measurement of Differential Cross-Sections for Elastic K+ p Scattering in the Momentum Range 0.7-GeV/c to 1.9-GeV/c

Charles, B.J. ; Cowan, I.M. ; Edwards, T.R.M. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 131 (1977) 7-53, 1977.
Inspire Record 126513 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.8361

Differential cross sections for elastic K + p scattering have been measured at nineteen momenta between 0.7 and 1.9 GeV/ c . The data represent between 10 thousand and 20 thousand elastic events at each momentum and cover a wide range of scattering angles ( −0.98 ≲ cos θ ∗ ≲ 0.95 ). A computer controlled system of scintillation counters and acoustic spark chambers was used to detect the elastic events. Various internal consistency checks indicate that the absolute normalization of the data is accurate to within 2–3%. The cross sections show a smooth transition from an isotropic angular distribution to a dominant forward peak over the range covered by the experiment. Phase-shift analyses including these results show little evidence for a direct-channel resonance, and fitting the results by t - and u -channel exchange processes alone gives a good fit.

Study of D Mesons Produced in the Decay of the psi-prime-prime (3772)

Peruzzi, I. ; Piccolo, M. ; Feldman, G.J. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 39 (1977) 1301, 1977.
Inspire Record 120878 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21003

From a study of D mesons produced in the decay ψ(3772)→DD¯, we have determined the masses of the D0 and D+ mesons to be 1863.3±0.9 MeV/c2 and 1868.3±0.9 MeV/c2, respectively. Under the assumption that the ψ(3772) has a definite isospin and decays only to DD¯, the D0 branching fractions to K−π+, K¯0π+π−, and K−π+π−π+ are (2.2±0.6)%, (4.0 ± 1.3)%, and (3.2±1.1)% and the D+ branching fractions to K¯0π+ and K−π+π+ are (1.5±0.6)% and (3.9±1.0)%.

Meson Production by Delta Exchange in pi- p Interactions at 4-GeV/c

Scharre, D.L. ; Chapman, J.W. ; Ely, R.P. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 17 (1978) 2853, 1978.
Inspire Record 121388 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24432

A streamer-chamber spectrometer is triggered by fast forward protons from 4-GeV/c π−p interactions at the Bevatron. Meson-resonance production in the backward, Iu=32 exchange reactions π−p→pM− are studied, where M− refers to π−, ρ−, A1−, A2−, and B−. Elastic scattering and ρ− production are observed and discussed in detail. No backward A1−, A2−, or B− production is observed at the level of approximately 5 βb.

Inclusive Baryon Production in e+ e- Annihilation

Piccolo, M. ; Peruzzi, I. ; Luke, D. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 39 (1977) 1503, 1977.
Inspire Record 121395 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20965

The inclusive production of antiprotons and Λ's in e+e− annihilation has been measured as a function of the c.m. energy in the range 3.7-7.6 GeV. We find that the baryon cross section has a behavior different from the total hadronic production. Our results show a rapid rise in the ratio σp¯σμμ between 4.4 and 5 GeV, consistent with what would be expected from charmed baryon production. Λ¯ production is 10-15% of p¯ production at all energies.

Comparison of Inclusive Charged Pion Production in pi+- p Interactions at 100-GeV/c.

Whitmore, J. ; Oh, B.Y. ; Pratap, M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 16 (1977) 3137-3149, 1977.
Inspire Record 123295 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24482

Inclusive single-particle spectra for π± production are presented for data from π±p interactions at 100 GeV/c. The spectra for the four reactions π±p→π±+anything are compared as a function of laboratory longitudinal momentum, Feynman x, center-of-mass (c.m.) rapidity, and transverse momentum squared. Comparisons are also made between these data and analogous data from 16 and 18.5 GeV/c π±p interactions and the energy dependence is discussed. Average values of the transverse momentum are given as a function of the longitudinal momentum and charged-particle multiplicity. A comparison of the charge distributions is presented as a function of rapidity and c.m. energy.

The forward charge-exchange differential cross section has been measured using two Čerenkov spectrometers at five energies of incident pions. The resulting cross-section values are 4.02 ± 0.22, 3.61 ± 0.13, 4.19 ± 0.13, 3.91 ± 0.12, 3.02 ± 0.14 mb/sr at incident pion energies 400, 450, 500, 550 and 600 MeV, respectively. These values are in a good agreement with dispersion-relation predictions.
