EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF POLARIZATION IN THE REACTION ANTI-P P ---> ANTI-P P AT 0.7-GeV/c

Kimura, M. ; Takanaka, M. ; Hamatsu, R. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 71 (1982) 438-444, 1982.
Inspire Record 184275 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37469

The polarization for the\(\bar pp\) elastic scattering was measured as a function of the centre-of-mass angle of scattering between 17° and 90° at the average incident momentum of 0.7 GeV/c by using doublescattering events in a bubble chamber. The average value of the polarization was found to be 0.23 ± 0.05. The angular dependence of the polarization obtained in this experiment was interpreted by the strong absorptive potential model for\(\bar {\mathcal{N}}{\mathcal{N}}\) interactions recently proposed.

Inspire Record 179758 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30955

The polarization for the K + n elastic and charge-exchange reactions was measured at the momenta of 1.06, 1.28, 1.39 and 1.49 GeV/ c . It was found to be negative for the K + n elastic process and generally positive for the charge-exchange process. The present results are compared with the predictions of phase shift analyses.

Inclusive Production of Lambdas and Anti-lambdas in $\gamma p$ Interactions for Photon Energies Between 25-{GeV} and 70-{GeV}

Nucl.Phys.B 195 (1982) 189-202, 1982.
Inspire Record 167734 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34176

Results are presented on the inclusive photoproduction of λ and λ for incident photon energies between 25 and 70 GeV. The slope parameter of the p T 2 distribution is found to be 2.83±0.1 GeV −2 for λ and 3.28±0.25 GeV −2 for λ . The x F distributions, measured in the range −0.2 to 0.7, show that while λ are produced centrally, λ production extends to more negative values of x F ; the shapes show no energy dependence and are similar to those in pion-induced reactions. The polarization of the produced λ is less than 10%. The results are discussed in terms of vector dominance and quark fusion models.

Inspire Record 170184 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24149

Results of measurements of the polarization parameter in K+p elastic scattering at 650, 700, 845, and 940 MeV/c are presented. Details of the measurements are described and results are compared with previous measurements and partial-wave parametrizations of the data. The implication of the existence of Z* resonances in light of these results is discussed.

POLARIZATION OF RECOIL NEUTRONS FROM SINGLE PION PHOTOPRODUCTION OFF PROTONS IN THE RESONANCE REGION

Egawa, K. ; Ishii, T. ; Daigo, M. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 188 (1981) 11-28, 1981.
Inspire Record 171265 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34257

The polarization of the recoil neutrons from the reaction γ p→ π + n was measured at a c.m. angle of 105° for incident photon energies between 675 and 1125 MeV. A scattered π + meson and a recoil neutron were detected in coincidence with a magnetic spectrometer and a neutron polarimeter system using liquid hydrogen. Results are compared with recent phenomenological analyses and the other existing data measured by the double polarization measurement technique.

We present results for the hypercharge exchange reaction K − p→f' λ from a high statistics experiment at 8.25 GeV/ c using the CERN 2m HBC. The total and differential cross sections have been measured; the polarisation of the Λ hyperon and the f' density matrix elements have been calculated as functions of momentum transfer. We also present detailed information on the relative strength of the natural and unnatural parity exchange contributions to the production mechanism.
