We have measured the polarization parameter in π − p→K + Σ − backward scattering at 3.5 GeV/ c incident momentum, in the u -range −0.6< u <0.1 GeV 2 . The apparatus consisted of a polarized target in a spectrometer magnet, counter hodoscopes for time-of-flight measurements, a large water Čerenkov counter for kaon tagging, and wire spark chambers. After identification of the kaons, the reaction was selected by a missing-mass technique. An isospin analysis has been carried out to separate the contributions of the various isospin exchange amplitudes in the u -channel.

In a counter and wire spark chamber experiment with a polarized target, backward kaons were detected, and the Σ + 's identified by a missing-mass technique. An average polarization of −0.08 ± 0.05 was found for −0.2 < u < 0.1 GeV 2 .
THE MEAN POLARIZATION FOR ALL EVENTS IS -0.08 +- 0.05.
The differential cross-section for pd elastic scattering has been measured at 9.7, 12.8 and 15.8 GeV/ c for t -values up to −2 GeV 2 . The Glauber multiple scattering model has been used to analyse the data, the main interest being the double scattering region.

The elastic scattering cross-section of π - on deuterium at 895 MeV/ c measured with counters and wire spark chambers is given in a region of momentum transfer between 0.16 and 0.96 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

Total p−p cross-section measurements have been made at 28 momenta, in the range (0.575÷5.35) GeV/c. The cross-section decreases monotonically with increasing momentum. No important irregularity has been found.

The ratio of the branching fractions for p p →K + K − and p p →π + π − was determined with the CPLEAR detector, by stopping antiprotons in a gaseous hydrogen target at 15 bar pressure. It was found to be BR(K + K − )/BR( π + π − )=0.205± 0.016. The fraction of P-wave annihilation at rest at this target density was deduced to be (38±9)%.
CONST is the fraction of P-wave annihilation in gaseous hydrogen at pressu re of 15 bar. In the SIG/SIG the statistical and systematic errors are added qu adratically.
The EM form factor of the pion has been studied in the time-like region by measuring σ (e + e − → π + π − ) normalized to σ (e + e − → μ + μ − ). Results have been obtained for q 2 down to the physical threshold.

The first observation of neutral pion production in π e inelastic scattering is presented. The cross section at 300 GeV for | t ‖>62;10 −3 (GeV / c ) 2 is 2.11 ± 0.47 nb, in good agreement with the theory of PCAC anomalies with 3 quark colours.
