Inclusive π 0 production at 90° has been studied at the ISR at s 1 2 = 52.7 and 62.4 GeV over the p T range from 7 to 15 GeV/ c . The two photons from π 0 decay yielded overlapping electromagnetic showers in the liquid-argon-Pb plate calorimeter detector system. Any direct photon production is included in these measurements. For large values of p T , the cross section is observed to decrease with p T more slowly than the p T −8 behaviour which has been observed at lower values of p T .

The inclusive production of π 0 at large values of p T in pp collisions at the ISR has been studied. In this experiment the two photons are resolved and separately measured for p T values of up to 6 GeV/ c , giving confidence that the desired signal has been separated from various backgrounds.

Phys.Rev.D 17 (1978) 42, 1978.
Inspire Record 5667 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24405

A bubble-chamber experiment based on 304 000 events of p¯p interactions at 2.32 GeV/c is described. The film was automatically scanned and measured by the POLLY II system. Details of the data-analysis methods are given. We report results on cross sections for constrained final states, tests of C invariance, and inclusive pion and ρ0 multiplicity parameters for annihilation final states.

A Comparison of K+- n Charge Exchange Reactions at 8.5-GeV/c and 13-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 40 (1978) 6, 1978.

The cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K+n→K0p and K−p→K¯0n, and K+p→K0Δ++ and K−n→K¯0Δ− have been determined with high statistics and good relative normalization at 8.36 and 12.8 GeV/c in a spectrometer experiment at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The cross sections for the K+-induced reactions are larger than for the K−, contrary to the expectations of weakly-exchange-degenerate Regge-pole models. The ratio of the reaction cross sections is about the same as at lower energies and shows little change with momentum transfer.

Properties of the Reaction anti-p p --> K+ K- pi+ pi- at 2.32-GeV/c

Chen, C.K. ; Fields, T. ; Rhines, D. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 130 (1977) 269-294, 1977.
Inspire Record 5388 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35223

An analysis of a data sample of 1296 events of the reaction p p → K + K − π + π − at 2.32 GeV/ c is presented. The reaction cross section is 300 ± 20 μb . A number of tests of C conservation were made with careful attention to possible systematic errors, yielding no clear evidence of C violation. Various quasi two-body and quasi three-body final states contributing to this reaction were studied. The final state φπ + π − appears to be produced via a Zweig's rule violating mechanism. An analysis of the quasi three-body final state, K ∗0 K − π + (with K ∗0 → K + π − ) plus charge conjugate, whose cross section is 84 ± 12 μ b, is given. The properties of this final state are compared with expectations based on a simple baryon exchange model, and poor agreement is found. A quark model allows a successful qualitative interpretation of the properties of this three-body final state.

Inspire Record 110667 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24609

Results of a Fermilab experiment using the 30-in. hydrogen bubble chamber are reported, with the main emphasis on pion production in the central region. Single-particle inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions in rapidity, Feynman x, and pT2 for both π− and π+ are presented and compared with results of other experiments. Two-particle distributions are investigated using the correlation-function formalism. The relation between inclusive and semi-inclusive correlation functions is discussed. The semi-inclusive correlation functions in rapidity are found to have short-range character compatible with the ideas of independent-cluster-emission models. Evidence for effects due to Bose-Einstein statistics of like particles is found by comparing the joint correlation function in rapidity and azimuthal angle, as well as the charged multiplicity associated with transverse momentum in the like- and unlike-charge combinations. Data on the average associated transverse momentum are also presented. The inclusive and semi-inclusive three-particle distributions are presented for all charge combinations. The inclusive three-particle correlations are found to be small for events with more than four particles in the final state. Two independent ways were found in which three-particle densities can be expressed in terms of one- and two-particle densities.

Rho0 Production in 205-GeV/c p p Interactions

Singer, R. ; Fields, T.H. ; Hyman, L.G. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 60 (1976) 385-388, 1976.
Inspire Record 2818 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.6484

Inclusive and semi-inclusive ρ 0 production are studied in 205 GeV/ c pp interactions. The number of ρ 0 per inelastic event is 0.33 ± 0.06, so that (13 ± 2)% of the π − are products of ϱ 0 decay. The ρ 0 are found to be produced mainly near y = 0 and tend to have larger average transverse momentum than do pions.

Lambda-Proton Elastic Scattering from 1-GeV/c to 17-GeV/c

Anderson, K.J. ; Gelfand, N.M. ; Keren, J. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 11 (1975) 473-477, 1975.
Inspire Record 103336 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24870

The Λ-proton elastic scattering cross section has been measured between 1 and 17 GeV/c in a bubble chamber experiment. These are the first measurements of the elastic cross section for pΛ>5 GeV/c. The Λ's were produced by 25-GeV/c proton interactions in a platinum target. The cross section falls from 22 to 4 mb over the region. No significant polarization is observed.

ANTI-PROTON - PROTON ANNIHILATION INTO FIVE AND MORE PIONS AT 2.32-GeV/c

Nucl.Phys.B 71 (1974) 189-210, 1974.
Inspire Record 80613 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32346

High statistics data on p p annihilation into five and more pions at 2.32 GeV/ c are presented. Cross sections for various final states and for the production of meson resonances have been determined. The Dalitz plot asymmetry for some 4 800 ω decay events produced in p p → 2π + 2π − π 0 is found to be consistent with zero. Upper limits for the production of exotic meson resonances are presented.
