Inspire Record 191493 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23901

The reaction π−p→K0K−p has been measured from 50 to 175 GeV/c. The production characteristics of the A2 have been analyzed. We find spin and t dependence similar to lower energies, but the cross section falls rapidly with energy. In a Regge description of π−p→A2−p our data imply a rather small Pomeron-exchange component.

Inclusive $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ Production From Kaon, Proton and Anti-proton Beams in the Triple Regge Region

Kennett, R.G. ; Barnes, A.V. ; Fox, G.C. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 177 (1981) 1-20, 1981.
Inspire Record 9595 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.1342

Data are presented on the reactions K ± p → π 0 X, K ± p → η X, pp → π 0 X and p p → π 0 X in the kinematic region with s ⋍ 200 GeV 2 , x ≳ 0.7 and − t ≲ 1 GeV 2 . The data agree well with the predictions of triple-Regge theory and the K ∗ and nucleon Regge trajectories extracted from the data agree with the linear trajectories extrapolated from the particle poles.

Experimental Tests of Quantum Chromodynamics in High $p_T$ Jet Production in 200-{GeV}/$c$ Hadron - Proton Collisions

Bromberg, C. ; Fox, G. ; Gomez, R. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 43 (1979) 565, 1979.
Inspire Record 141467 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.52007

Data on inclusive jet production in the transverse-momentum (p⊥) range 0-8 GeV/c for 200-GeV/c p, π−, π+, K−, K+, and p¯ incident on a hydrogen target are presented. The jet cross section is fully corrected for losses and biases, and compared with the predictions of a model based on quantum chromodynamics. Both the absolute cross section and the inclusive charged-particle distributions inside and outside the jet are in qualitative agreement with the model.

Precise Tests of Triple Regge Theory From $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ Inclusive Production in 100-{GeV}/$c \pi^\pm p$ Collisions

Barnes, A.V. ; Fox, G.C. ; Kennett, R.G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 41 (1978) 1260, 1978.
Inspire Record 131753 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.13342

We present data on π0 and η inclusive production from 100-GeV/c π±p collisions in the kinematic region x>~0.7 and 0<−t≲4 (GeV/c)2. The results are in excellent agreement with the predictions of triple-Regge theory and we have extracted the ρ and A2 trajectories out to −t=4 (GeV/c)2.

Evidence for the tau --> Neutrino rho pi Decay Mode

The PLUTO collaboration Alexander, G. ; Criegee, L. ; Dehne, H.C. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 73 (1978) 99-104, 1978.
Inspire Record 122092 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27462

Annihilation of e + e − into final states with a single electron has been studied with the PLUTO detector at the DORIS storage ring at CMS energies from 3.6 to 5 GeV. In the sample of 4-prong events without any detected photon we observe 21 events which we assign to the reaction e + e − → τ + τ − → νν e + νϱ 0 π . We obtain a branching ratio for τ + → νϱ 0 π + of 0.050 ± 0.015 with an overall systematic uncertainty of 30%. The data are consistent with the ϱπ coming from an A 1 meson.

Production of Jets and Single Particles at High p(T) in 200-GeV Hadron Beryllium Collisions

Bromberg, C. ; Fox, G. ; Gomez, R. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 134 (1978) 189-241, 1978.
Inspire Record 5774 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35152

We present results from an experiment studying the production of single particles and jets (groups of particles) with high p ⊥ (transverse momentum) in 200 GeV/ c interactions on a beryllium target. We give a detailed discussion of the ambiguities in the jet definition. The jet and single-particle cross sections have a similar shape but the jet cross section is over two orders of magnitude larger. The events show evidence for the coplanar structure suggested by constituent models, and the momentum distributions of charged particles give strong support to a simple quark-quark scattering model.

Inclusive J/psi Production in e+ e- Annihilation in the Energy Range from 4.0-GeV to 5.0-GeV

The PLUTO collaboration Burmester, J. ; Criegee, L. ; Dehne, H.C. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 68 (1977) 283, 1977.
Inspire Record 119149 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27565

We report on inclusive production of J ψ (3.1)-mesons observed in e + e − -annihilation in the energy range s = 4.0–5.0 GeV . After substraction of the radiative tail of the ψ(3.7) direct production of the J ψ (3.1) is found to be in the order of 0.1% of the total hadronic cross section. No enhancements are seen at s = 4.03 GeV and 4.4 GeV. The level is in agreement with expectations from violation of the Zweig-rule.

The Total Hadronic Cross-Section for e+ e- Annihilation Between 3.1-GeV and 4.8-GeV Center-Of-Mass Energy

Inspire Record 110272 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27583

Using the solenoidal magnetic detector PLUTO, we have measured the total cross section for e + e − annihilation into hadrons. Results are presented for center of mass energies between 3.6 and 4.8 GeV, and in the regions of the J ψ (3.1) and ψ(3.7) resonances. We also present results for the 2 prong cross section in the energy range 3.6 to 4.8 GeV.

Pi+- and pi0 production by polarized photons in the resonance region

Alspector, J. ; Fox, D. ; Luckey, David ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 28 (1972) 1403-1406, 1972.
Inspire Record 75484 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21872

We have measured the cross sections at 90° c.m. for π± and π0 photoproduction with polarized photons. The photon energies ranged from 0.8 to 2.2 GeV. We compare the resonant "bumps" in the cross section with theoretical models. The measured asymmetry agrees with a quark-model calculation though the predicted cross sections are low.
