A partial wave analysis of p̄p → π 0 π 0 η ′ has been performed using the η′ → π 0 π 0 η and η ′ → γγ decay modes. The data are dominated by an η ′ recoiling against the ( ππ ) S-wave. In addition, α 2 (1320) → η′π 0 is needed. There is evidence for contributions from α 0 (1450) → η′π 0 . The branching ratio of α 0 (1450) → η′π 0 with respect to ηπ 0 is consistent with the prediction of SU(3).

Total cross section measurement of the gamma n --> p pi- pi0 reaction.

Phys.Rev.C 55 (1997) R1617-R1620, 1997.
Inspire Record 439886 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47015

The total cross section for the γn→pπ−π0 reaction has been measured over the photon energy range 450–800 MeV at the 855 MeV MAMI Microtron in Mainz with the large acceptance detector DAPHNE and using a deuterium target. As expected, this reaction has a very similar cross section to the γp→nπ+π0 channel and its amplitude is strongly underestimated by the existing double pion photoproduction models.

Search for third generation leptoquarks in anti-p p collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.8-TeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 78 (1997) 2906-2911, 1997.
Inspire Record 427318 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.42235

We present the results of a search for third generation leptoquark (LQ) pairs in 110±8pb−1of p¯p collisions at s=1.8TeV recorded by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. We assume third generation leptoquarks decay to a τ lepton and a b quark with branching ratio β. We observe one candidate event, consistent with standard model background expectations. We place upper limits on σ(p¯p→LQLQ¯)̇β2 as a function of the leptoquark mass MLQ. We exclude at 95% confidence level scalar leptoquarks with MLQ<99GeV/c2, gauge vector leptoquarks with MLQ<225GeV/c2, and nongauge vector leptoquarks with MLQ<170GeV/c2 for β=1.

New data on OZI rule violation in anti-p p annihilation at rest.

The OBELIX collaboration Bertin, A. ; Bruschi, M. ; De Castro, S. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 388 (1996) 450-456, 1996.
Inspire Record 420512 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.41681

The results of a measurement of the ratio R = Y(phi pi+ pi-) / Y(omega pi+ pi-) for antiproton annihilation at rest in a gaseous and in a liquid hydrogen target are presented. It was found that the value of this ratio increases with the decreasing of the dipion mass, which demonstrates the difference in the phi and omega production mechanisms. An indication on the momentum transfer dependence of the apparent OZI rule violation for phi production from the 3S1 initial state was found.

Search for anomalous W W and W Z production in p anti-p collisions at s**(1/2) = 1.8-TeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 77 (1996) 3303-3308, 1996.
Inspire Record 419962 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.42290

We present results from a search for anomalous WW and WZ production in ppbar collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.8 TeV. We used ppbar->evjjX events observed during the 1992-1993 run of the Fermilab Tevatron collider, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 13.7 +- 0.7 pb^-1. A fit to the transverse momentum spectrum of the W boson yields direct limits on the CP-conserving anomalous WWgamma and WWZ coupling parameters of -0.9 < delta kappa < 1.1 (with lambda = 0) and -0.6 < lambda < 0.7 (with delta kappa = 0) at the 95% confidence level, for a form factor scale Lambda = 1.5 TeV, assuming that the WWgamma and WWZ coupling parameters are equal.

Quarkonia production at CDF

The CDF collaboration Sansoni, A. ;
Nucl.Phys.A 610 (1996) 373C-385C, 1996.
Inspire Record 422179 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.43024

In the 1992–1995 runs CDF has collected large samples of J ψ , ψ (2 S ) and ϒ identified through their muonic decay. In the charmonium system all production sources have been separately measured and compared with the theoretical predictions. A large excess of direct production has been observed for both ψ (2 S ) and J ψ . The relative production rate for the χ c 1 and χ c 2 has also been measured. The unexpected results have lead to a profound revisitation of the theory of the production of Q Q bound states in high energy hadronic collisions.

Forward - backward charge asymmetry of electron pairs above the Z0 pole

Phys.Rev.Lett. 77 (1996) 2616-2621, 1996.
Inspire Record 417098 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.50121

We present a measurement of the forward-backward charge asymmetry of the process pp¯→Z0/γ+X,Z0/γ→e+e− at Mee>MZ, using 110pb−1 of data at s=1.8TeV collected at the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The measured charge asymmetries are 0.43±0.10 in the invariant mass region Mee>105GeV/c2, and 0.070±0.016 in the region 75

The forward-backward asymmetry resuts from angular differential cross section : D(SIG)/D(COS(THETA*) = A*(1 + COS(THETA*)**2) + B*COS(THETA*), where THETA * is the emission angle of the E- relative to the quark momentum in the rest frame of the E+ E- pair.

Precise pion electroproduction in the p (e, e-prime pi+) n reaction at W = 1125-MeV

Z.Phys.A 353 (1996) 415-421, 1996.
Inspire Record 428951 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.16502

The reactione+p →> e+π++n at c.m. energyW=1125MeV and momentum transfer Q2=0.117GeV2/c2 has been measured. The transverse and longitudinal structure functions have been separated by varying the polarization of the virtual photon (Rosenbluth plot) with a 3 to 4% error. In addition the longitudinal-transverse interference term has been determined measuring the right-left asymmetry with an accuracy of 3%. The experimental data are compared to model calculations, and the sensitivity of the results to the axial and pion formfactors is discussed.

Measurement of pi+ p (polarized) analyzing power at 68.3-MeV

Wieser, R. ; Denig, A. ; von Hagel, U. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 54 (1996) 1930-1934, 1996.
Inspire Record 429106 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25768

The analyzing power Ay for π+p→ scattering at 68.3 MeV has been measured at the Paul Scherrer Institut with the magnetic spectrometer LEPS. The measurements cover the angular range 40°≤θlab≤70°. The protons have been polarized in a butanol target, operated in frozen spin mode. The S31 phase shift comes out by about 1° smaller than the Koch-Pietarinen [Nucl. Phys. A 336, 331 (1980)] phase shift analysis, supporting the necessity of an alternative dispersion analysis of πN scattering to determine the σ term and the πN coupling constant. © 1996 The American Physical Society.

Measurement of the total e+ e- ---> hadrons cross-section near the e+ e- ---> N anti-N threshold

The FENICE collaboration Antonelli, A. ; Baldini, R. ; Bertani, M. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 365 (1996) 427-430, 1996.
Inspire Record 426675 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37900

A new measurement of the total e + e − → hadrons cross-section in the centre of mass energy range 1.8-2.5 GeV, performed by the FENICE experiment at the Frascati e + e − storage ring ADONE, is presented. The behaviour of the total cross section together with the proton electromagnetic time-like form factor is discussed in terms of a narrow vector resonance close to the nucleon-antinucleon threshold.
