We present the results of a formation experiment for the reactions K±p→Σ±π± in the c.m.s. energy between 2200 and 2436 MeV with a total statistics of 10 ev/μb. A partial-wave analysis including these new data gives evidence for the existence of three resonances in theD15,G19 andH09 states and confirms the existence of anF05 state.

Omega Production in the Reaction pi- p --> pi+ pi- pi0 n at 8-GeV/c and 12-GeV/c

Dowell, J.D. ; Garvey, J. ; Jobes, M. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 108 (1976) 30-44, 1976.
Inspire Record 100856 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35781

The reaction π − p → ω n has been studied at 8 and 12 GeV / c incident momenta with the CERN Omega spectrometer using a neutron time of flight trigger. The differential cross sections and the ω-decay density matrix elements are presented as functions of the momentum transfer squared − t in the range of 0.02 to 0.80 GeV 2 . The data are used to evaluate the intercept and slope of both the natural and unnatural parity exchange trajectories. Regge exchange amplitude factorisation tests involving the reaction π N → ω N are investigated.

Energy Dependence of the Parameter C(NN) at 2-GeV/c, 3-GeV/c, 4-GeV/c and 6-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 763, 1976.
Inspire Record 3049 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21077

We have measured the spin-spin correlation parameter CNN at 2, 3, 4, and 6 GeV/c over the |t| range of 0.1 to 2.0 (GeV/c)2 and have observed a striking energy and |t| dependence in CNN. Polarization data were simultaneously collected and are compared to previous results.

Anomalous Production of High-Energy Muons in e+ e- Collisions at 4.8-GeV

Cavalli-Sforza, M. ; Goggi, G. ; Mantovani, G.C. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 558, 1976.
Inspire Record 100744 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21103

In view of the possible production of heavy leptons or charmed states in e+e− collisions, we searched for anomalous muons with momenta pμ≳1 GeV/c. The inclusive cross section for nch>~3 has an upper limit of 96 pb (assuming isotropy). For nch=2 and noncoplanarity > 20°, an excess of muonic events is observed, corresponding to (dσdΩ)|90°=23−9+12 pb/sr; the probability that known processes produce the observed events is 2×10−4.

Lambda Polarization in the Reaction K- p --> Lambda Anything at 14.3-GeV/c

Abramowicz, H. ; Barloutaud, R. ; Borg, A. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 105 (1976) 222-228, 1976.
Inspire Record 100450 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35865

New results on inclusive lambda polarization in K − p interactions at 14.3 GeV/ c are presented. At the kaon fragmentation vertex, the polarization is compared to that from inclusive experiments at lower momenta and to that from two-body reactions with a Λ. As predicted by the triple-Regge model with N α (or N γ ) exchange, the polarization is found to be independent of s and M X 2 / s . In particular it has the same value as that found in the two-body reactions.

Line Reversal Breaking in K+- n Charge Exchange and K+- n --> K0 Delta (1236) at 4-GeV/c and 6-GeV/c

Phelan, J.J. ; Ambats, I. ; Meyer, W.T. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 61 (1976) 483-486, 1976.
Inspire Record 2871 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27677

Differential cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K + 0p → K o Δ ++ (1236), K − n → K ̄ o Δ − (1236) and K − p → K ̄ o n , K + n → K o p have been measured with good statistics at 4 and 6 GeV/ c . The line reversal breaking for the Δ (1236) reactions is found to have no significant variation with energy and to be larger than for the charge exchange reactions. The cross sections for all four reactions show a dip in the forward direction, indicating the importance of spin-flip amplitudes.

Correlations Associated with Particles Produced at Small Angles in p p Collisions at the CERN ISR

The CHLM collaboration Albrow, M.G. ; Barber, D.P. ; Benz, P. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 102 (1976) 275-296, 1976.
Inspire Record 2886 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36078

Data on correlations between momentum analysed protons, pions or K mesons, and charged particles produced in pp collisions at the CERN ISR are presented. The charged particles were detected in a ∼4 π scintillation counter hodoscope. The pseudo-rapidity distributions are well described by production within the limits of cylindrical phase space, with negative kaons and antiprotons yielding narrower distributions than protons, pions and positive kaons. The azimuthal distributions show symmetry around the t -channel axis in the rest frame of the recoiling mass M x in pp → aX (a = detected proton, pion, positive kaon).

K- p Elastic Scattering at 14.3-GeV/c

Drevillon, B. ; Borenstein, S. ; Chaurand, B. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 97 (1975) 392-402, 1975.
Inspire Record 2869 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31858

Results are presented of a bubble chamber experiment on K − p elastic scattering at 14.3 GeV/ c , in four-momentum transfer range 0.04 < | t | < 2.74 GeV 2 using an initial set of 40 000 events. The total elastic cross section is (2.96 ± 0.10) mb. The results are compared with K + p elastic scattering data at 13.8 GeV/ c , and the effective Regge trajectory is calculated using K − p data from 5 to 100 GeV/ c .

Experimental Study of Nuclear Shadowing in Low Q**2 Electroproduction

Eickmeyer, J. ; Michalowski, S. ; Mistry, Nari B. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 289, 1976.
Inspire Record 100313 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47141

The total cross section for hadron production by inelastic electron scattering at 3.2° from a number of nuclei has been measured at several virtual photon energies at fixed Q2=0.1 (GeV/c)2. The hadronic cross section is measured directly, by detecting at least one hadron in coincidence with the scattered electron. The results show very little shadowing and no detectable energy dependence. These observations contradict vector-meson dominance.
