At the Bonn 2.5 GeV electron synchrotron the angular distribution of the target asymmetry T = (σ↑ − σ↓) (σ↑ + σ↓) for the reaction γp↑ → π + n was measured at a mean photon energy of 700 MeV and pion CM-angles from 50° to 155°. The combination of a 3 He-cryostat, polarizing the free protons in the target up to 65%, with a large acceptance magnet for pion detection led to statistical errors of the target asymmetry comparable with those of cross section measurements.

A polarized neutron target was used at the Bonn 2.5 GeV Synchrotron to measure the target asymmetry for the reaction γ n↑→ π − p at a fixed photon energy of 700 MeV and pion c.m. angles between 50° and 140°. The pions were detected in a large aperture magnetic spectrometer. The data show a structure which is quite different from the distribution previously measured for the reaction γ p↑→ π + n.

The π − p→K 0 λ polarization has been measured at 5 GeV/ c in the range 0<− t <1.4 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The polarization is small for − t ⪅0.4 (GeV/ c ) 2 , becoming negative at the higher values of − t .

The reaction γp → K 0 Σ + has been measured with the SAPHIR detector at the electron stretcher ring ELSA. The total cross section rises up to a peak value of 1.1 μ b at a photon energy of 1.4 GeV. The differential cross sections dσ/dΩ are consistent with being flat throughout the measured energy range. The first measurement of the Σ + polarization in photon induced reactions was obtained.

A STRONG ENERGY DEPENDENCE OF THE ANALYZING POWER IN THE P P ---> D PI+ REACTION AND THE QUESTION OF AN ISOVECTOR DIBARYON RESONANCE

Phys.Lett.B 162 (1985) 77-80, 1985.
Inspire Record 221962 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30330

The angular distributions of the analyzing power for the pp → dπ + reaction have been measured at seven energies T p = 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.3 GeV. The data show a strong energy dependence with a structure centered at √ s π d = 2.66 GeV. Possible interpretations are presented in the frame of the OPE model and involving the question of the excitation of a dibaryon resonance.

Forward angular distributions of the analysing power for the pp→d π + reaction have been measured at six energies T p =1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 2.3 GeV. A strong energy dependence is observed for A y 0 ( t =0) and A y 0 ( θ CM π =90°). The data are compared with the backward angular distributions previously published and suggest the existence of a resonant state in the pp system at the approximate energy of 2.7 GeV.

K- p Cross-Sections Between 1.1-GeV/c and 1.4-GeV/c

Nucl.Phys.B 93 (1975) 189-216, 1975.
Inspire Record 99412 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.6708

K − p reactions have been studied at 13 different incident momenta between 1138 and 1434 MeV/ c . This interval corresponds to a mass of the K − p system varying from 1858 to 1993 MeV. About 300 000 photographs were taken in the 81 cm Saclay hydrogen bubble chamber exposed to a separated K − beam at the CERN proton-synchrotron. A total of about 44 000 events were analyzed, from which partial and differential cross sections were determined. Polarizations were obtained for the two-body reactions where the decay of the Λ or Σ hyperon allowed their measurement. Data for the two-body channels are presented here as well as for the main quasi-two-body reactions.

Differential cross-section and polarization measurements for the reaction π − p → K 0 Σ 0 are presented from 1395 to 2375 MeV/ c incident beam momentum. The polarization data from an earlier experiment, from thershold to 1334 MeV/ c , have been re-analysed by an improved method leading to a substantial reduction in the errors.
