Data were obtained using the streamer chamber spectrometer SKM-200 at a momentum of 4.5 GeV/c per incident nucleon. From the analysis of angular distributions of pi - mesons the anisotropy coefficient a for He-Li, He-C, C-Ne, C-Cu, C-Pb, O-Pb and Mg-Mg collisions was obtained. It has been shown that a is similar for symmetric systems of nuclei (He-Li and Mg-Mg) and increases slowly with mass numbers of projectile (Ap) and target (AT) for other pairs of nuclei. The anisotropy coefficient a increases linearly with the kinetic energy E*kin (in the CMS) for all pairs of nuclei. The qualitative agreement of our results with the predictions of the intranuclear cascade models has been observed.

Fission probabilities of Cu, Nb, Ag, Ho, Au and Bi nuclei excited by stopped anti-protons

Ivanov, D.I. ; Ilinov, A.S. ; Mebel, M.V. ; et al.
Z.Phys.A 352 (1995) 191-195, 1995.
Inspire Record 406569 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.16498

The A dependence of nuclear fission induced by stopped antiprotons has been measured. An unambiguous identification of the binary fission decay mode was provided by a coordinate measurement of complementary fission fragments in coincidence using a large-acceptance fission detector based on low pressure multiwire proportional chambers. A deep fissility minimum was observed nearA=100, in agreement with the general behaviour predicted by the liquid-drop model. An unexpectedly low and high fission probability was found for the Ag and Cu nuclei, respectively.

The fission probabilities D_f(x) for different nuclei were determined rela tive to AU197 with the formula: D_(x)=(N_f(x)/n(x)*S(x)*N(x))*(n(Au)*S(Au)*N(Au )/*N_f(Au))*D_f(Au), where N_f is the number of registered fossion events, n is the target thickness, S is the stopping power, N is the number of antiprotons counted by the scintillation telescope.

Observation of excess lambda (anti-lambda) production in two photon processes at TRISTAN

The TOPAZ collaboration Enomoto, R. ; Abe, K. ; Abe, T. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 347 (1995) 179-186, 1995.
Inspire Record 392056 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.38362

We have carried out inclusive measurements of $\Lambda(\overline{\Lambda})$ production in two-photon processes at TRISTAN. The mean $\sqrt{s}$ was 58 GeV and the integrated luminosity was 265 pb$~{-1}$. Inclusive $\Lambda (\overline{\Lambda})$ samples were obtained under such conditions as no-electron, anti-electron, and remnant-jet tags. The data were compared with theoretical calculations. The measured cross sections are two-times larger than the leading-order theoretical predictions, suggesting the necessity of next-to-leading-order Monte-Carlo generator.

Inspire Record 392053 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.42387

We have used 19 pb**-1 of data collected with the Collider Detector at Fermilab to search for new particles decaying to dijets. We exclude at 95% confidence level models containing the following new particles: axigluons with mass between 200 and 870 GeV, excited quarks with mass between 80 and 570 GeV, and color octet technirhos with mass between 320 and 480 GeV.

Here UNSPEC refers to axigluons, excited quarks, colour octet technirhos, ngauge bosons (W' and Z') and diquarks (D and Dc). M is the mass of the new particle (axigluon, q*, ...). Measurements are given to the 95% confidence limit.

New decay modes of the Lambda(c)+ charm baryon

The CLEO collaboration Ammar, R. ; Baringer, Philip S. ; Bean, A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 74 (1995) 3534-3537, 1995.
Inspire Record 392228 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47094

We have observed five new decay modes of the charmed baryon Λc+ using data collected with the CLEO II detector. Four decay modes, Λc+→pK¯0η, Ληπ+, Σ+η, and Σ*+η, are first observations of final states with an η meson, while the fifth mode, Λc+→ΛK¯0K+, requires the creation of an ss¯ quark pair. We measure the branching fractions of these modes relative to Λc+→pK−π+ to be 0.25±0.04±0.04, 0.35±0.05±0.06, 0.11±0.03±0.02, 0.17±0.04±0.03, and 0.12±0.02±0.02, respectively.

Observation of phi phi production in the reaction anti-p p --> 4 K+- at 1.4-GeV/c incident anti-p momentum

Inspire Record 382894 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.48237

The JETSET (PS202) experiment at CERN-LEAR searches for hadronic resonances by means of in-flight antiproton-proton annihilations in the reaction p p → φφ . In order to obtain sufficient luminosity and good final-state mass resolution, this experiment uses an internal hydrogen-cluster jet target intersecting the LEAR antiproton beam. We report on the study of the reaction p p → 4K ± at 1.4 GeV / c incident p̄ momentum, and we present the first experimental observation of a stro φφ signal in this reaction.

Measurement of the total hadronic cross-section and determination of gamma - Z interference in e+ e- annihilation

The TOPAZ collaboration Miyabayashi, K. ; Adachi, I. ; Fujii, K. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 347 (1995) 171-178, 1995.
Inspire Record 381777 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.38368

The total hadronic cross section in e + e − annihilation was measured at s =5.77 GeV to be σ h = 143.6 ± 1.5 (stat) ± 3.5 (sys) pb with only the QED corrections. The measurement was based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 90.8 pb −1 accumulated by the TOPAZ detector at TRISTAN. Our data point put stringent constraints on the size of the γ - Z 0 interference and the Z 0 mass. Combining our data with the OPAL data at LEP, we obtained the coefficient of the interference and the Z 0 mass to be J had = 0.10 ± 0.26 and M z = 91.151 ± 0.008 GeV, respectively, in a model-independent analysis.

We present the results of a search in p¯p collisions at s=1.8 TeV for the top quark decaying to a charged Higgs boson (H±). We search for dilepton final states from the decay chain tt¯→HH (or HW, or WW) + bb¯→ll+X. In a sample of 19.3 pb−1 collected during 1992-93 with the Collider Detector at Fermilab, we observe 2 events with a background estimation of 3.0 ± 1.0 events. Limits at 95% C.L. in the (Mtop,MH±) plane are presented. For the case Mtop

A Search for excited fermions in electron - proton collisions at HERA

The ZEUS collaboration Derrick, M. ; Krakauer, D. ; Magill, S. ; et al.
Z.Phys.C 65 (1995) 627-648, 1995.
Inspire Record 378836 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.45049

A search for excited states of the standard model fermions was performed using the ZEUS detector at the HERA electron-proton collider, operating at a centre of mass energy of 296 GeV. In a sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.55 pb−1, no evidence was found for any resonant state decaying into final states composed of a fermion and a gauge boson. Limits on the coupling strength times branching ratio of excited fermions are presented for masses between 50 GeV and 250 GeV, extending previous search regions significantly.
