We report on a measurement of subthreshold η and π0 mesons in the reaction Ar+Ca at 180A MeV. We find that the ratio of the η to π0 meson-production cross section is more than a factor of 20 smaller than the one expected from threshold-energy scaling of meson production. In addition, the multiplicity of high mt π0 increases faster with the centrality of the reaction than the multiplicity of the bulk of π0 mesons. This behavior is explained by the rescattering of π mesons in nuclear matter at the origin of most energetic particles.

Spin observables in elastic proton scattering from polarized He-3

Phys.Rev.C 52 (1995) 807-817, 1995.
Inspire Record 411136 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25873

We have measured the absolute cross section σ(θ) and complete sets of spin observables A00ij in He3(p,p) elastic scattering at energies of 200 and 500 MeV. The observables depend on linear combinations of six complex scattering amplitudes for the p−3He system and provide a severe test of current reaction models. The in-scattering plane observables (A00mm, A00ll, A00lm, and A00ml) are all in quantitative disagreement with fully microscopic nonrelativistic optical model calculations and nonrelativistic distorted wave Born approximation calculations.

Phys.Rev.C 48 (1993) 256-265, 1993.
Inspire Record 34401 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.51045

We have measured the analyzing power ANO and the spin transfer KNN for np-elastic scattering from about 60° to 170° c.m. at 485, 635, and 788 MeV. The new data clarify previous discrepancies and complete the first-order determination of nucleon-nucleon elastic scattering at these energies.

A Measurement of $\Lambda_{\overline{MS}}$ from $\nu_{\mu}$ - Fe Nonsinglet Structure Functions at the Fermilab Tevatron

Phys.Rev.Lett. 71 (1993) 1307-1310, 1993.
Inspire Record 336860 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.19733

The CCFR Collaboration presents a measurement of scaling violations of the nonsinglet structure function and a comparison to the predictions of perturbative QCD. The value of ΛQCD, from the nonsinglet evolution with Q2>15 GeV2 and in the modified minimal-subtraction renormalization scheme, is found to be 210±28(stat)±41(syst) MeV.

n p elastic spin transfer measurements at 485-MeV and 635-MeV

Phys.Rev.C 46 (1992) 47-51, 1992.
Inspire Record 342389 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26097

We have measured the spin-transfer parameters KLL, KSL, KLS, and KSS at 635 MeV from 50° to 178° c.m. and at 485 MeV from 74° to 176° c.m. These new data have a significant impact on the phase-shift analyses. There are now sufficient data near these energies to overdetermine the elastic nucleon-nucleon amplitudes.

Neutrino Production of Same Sign Dimuons

Phys.Rev.Lett. 60 (1988) 1618, 1988.
Inspire Record 23079 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20157

In a sample of 670 000 charged-current neutrino events, 101 μ−μ− events have been observed, with 30 GeV<Eν<600 GeV and Pμ>9 GeV/c for both muons. After background subtraction, 18.5±13.9 events remain, yielding a prompt rate of (5.5±4.1)×10−5 per charged-current event. A sample of 124 000 antineutrino events yields 15 μ+μ+ events, giving 6.4±4.2 events after background subtraction and a prompt rate of (1.0±0.7)×10−4 per charged-current event. The numbers and kinematic distributions of these events are consistent with standard model sources.

Phys.Rev.Lett. 59 (1987) 1645, 1987.
Inspire Record 21907 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.3247

The spin-spin correlation parameters CLL=(L,L;0,0)=ALL and CSL=(S,L;0,0)=ASL for np elastic scattering were measured for incident polarized-neutron–beam kinetic energies of 484 and 634 MeV over the center-of-mass angles from ≃80° to 180°. The data are important for determining the I=0 nucleon-nucleon amplitudes. These results are compared with phase-shift calculations.

Measurement of the Spin Correlation Parameters A(ll) and A(sl) for the Reaction $P P \to D \pi^+$ in the Energy Region 500-{MeV} - 800-{MeV}

Barlow, D.B. ; Saha, A. ; Seth, K.K. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 37 (1988) 1977-1986, 1988.
Inspire Record 242361 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26282

Angular distributions of the spin-correlation parameters Asl and All for the reaction pp→π+d have been measured at pion center-of-mass angles 40°≤θπ+*≤130° at incident energies of 500, 650, and 800 MeV. Additional measurements of All were made at 600, 700, and 750 MeV. The results of the experiment are compared with the predictions of several unified coupled-channel calculations and partial-wave analyses. While the latest partial-wave analyses were found to fit the data reasonably well, all except one of the various model predictions not only do not fit the data well, but also tend to be in disagreement with each other. The data show no clear sign of a need for proposed dibaryon resonances.

Measurement of the $K^0^*$ (896) Radiative Width

Carlsmith, D. ; Bernstein, R.H. ; Bock, G.J. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 56 (1986) 18, 1986.
Inspire Record 217703 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20252

Primakoff production of the K0*(896) by incident KL’s was observed in the energy range 100–200 GeV. Production from Cu and Pb targets was measured simultaneously leading to a new value for the K0*(896) radiative width Γ(K0*(896)→K0+γ) of 116.5±9.9 keV. The result agrees with a previous determination while being considerably more precise and allows for more stringent tests of quark-model relations among the radiative widths of the low-lying vector mesons.

Phys.Rev.C 17 (1978) 681-693, 1978.
Inspire Record 134673 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26365

The differential cross section for scattering of pions on deuterons was measured at LAMPF at laboratory momenta of 343, 441, 539, and 637 MeVc, using an E−ΔE method to identify the recoil deuterons. Angles ranged from 40° to 160° in the center of mass system. The momentum resolution was σ=±3.5% and the angular resolution was ± 1.70° in the laboratory system. The experimental method is discussed, and results are presented and compared with other experimental data as well as with various theoretical calculations.
