Photoproduction of the psi (3100) Meson at 11-GeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 35 (1975) 1616, 1975.
Inspire Record 99727 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21158

The photoproduction of the ψ(3100) meson from a beryllium target has been measured using an 11.8-GeV bremsstrahlung beam. The energy and angular dependence of the measured spectra may be obtained from an elastic nucleon cross section of the form dσdt=(1.01±0.20)exp[(1.25±0.20)t] nb/GeV2. This cross section is exceedingly small in comparison with those of the other vector mesons.

We have found events of the form e++e−→e±+μ∓+missingenergy, in which no other charged particles or photons are detected. Most of these events are detected at or above a center-of-mass energy of 4 GeV. The missing-energy and missing-momentum spectra require that at least two additional particles be produced in each event. We have no conventional explanation for these events.

Nucl.Phys.B 100 (1975) 237-290, 1975.
Inspire Record 99735 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.8506

Results are given on the inclusive production of charged pions, kaons, and nucleons, in proton-proton collisions at c.m. energies from √ s = 23 to 63 GeV at large angles and for the transverse momentum range 0.1 < p T < 4.8 GeV/ c . The dependence of the production spectra on the collision energy √ s , the transverse momentum p T , and the longitudinal rapidity is discussed.

K0(L) p --> K0(s) p Scattering in the 1.5-GeV-2.3-GeV Energy Region

Phys.Lett.B 58 (1975) 484-488, 1975.

The K L o p → K S o p differential and total cross-section and the forward scattering amplitude phase φ have been measured in the 1.5 to 2.3 GeV centre of mass energy range. The data is compared with predictions based on recent K ± N phase shift solutions. Best agreement is found for K + N solutions which do not warrant an I=0 P 1 2 exotic Z ∗ o (1800) baryon.

Search for Narrow Resonances in e+ e- Annihilation Into Hadrons at ADONE

Phys.Lett.B 58 (1975) 478-480, 1975.

A search for narrow resonances in the reaction e + e − → hadrons in the mass regions 1915–2345 MeV and 2970–3090 MeV has been perforned at ADONE, the Frascati storage ring. With 90% confidence level our data exclude the production of narrow resonances with integrated cross section larger than 20% of the integrated cross section for production of the J/Ψ (3100 MeV).

Inclusive K*- (890) and anti-K*0 (890) Production in 14.3-GeV/c K- p Interactions

Nucl.Phys.B 96 (1975) 1-28, 1975.
Inspire Record 2239 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31901

Results on the inclusive reactions K − p → K ∗− (890) + X + and K − p → K ∗0 (890) + X 0 at 14.3 GeV/c are presented. A comparison is made with previous data and with the reaction K − p → K 0 + X at 14.3 GeV /c . Predictions of a triple-Regge model for the variation of the unnatural and natural parity exchanges with the mass of the X system are examined. The experimental values of the structure functions are compared with those calculated from a quark model.

Partial-wave analyses of the (3π)-system in the reaction π − p → π − π − π + p at 11.2 GeV/ c

The results are presented of two partial-wave analyses of the (3π) − system in 30 000 events of the reaction π − p → π − π − π + p at 11.2 GeV/ c . Both techniques incorporate the assumptions of the isobar model and are (a) the University of Illinois program which fits in terms of the (3π) density matrix elements and (b) an amplitude parametrisaton including possible effects of both spin non-flip and spin flip at the baryon vertex. The results obtained with these independent programs are found to be very close.

Measurement of Differential Cross-Sections for Radiative Pion-Proton Capture in the Second Resonance Region

Weiss, A.J. ; Blasberg, D.J. ; Comiso, J.C. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 101 (1975) 1-18, 1975.
Inspire Record 2234 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.36075

Differential cross-section measurements for π − p → γ n, consisting of three angular distributions at 618, 676 and 718 MeV/ c , and the energy dependence at θ γ = 90° for seven incident pion momenta between 502 and 888 MeV/ c , are presented. Our data qualitatively support recent multipole analyses. Agreement with the Scheffler et al. results for the inverse reaction, γ n → π − p, using a ( π − -recoil p) coincidence technique is good excluding a large violation of time reversal invariance. The agreement with γ n → π − p data obtained using the R ( π − / π + ) ratio technique or a deuterium bubble chamber is only qualitative.
