High-Energy Quasielastic Muon-neutrino n ---> mu- p Scattering in Deuterium

Phys.Rev.D 28 (1983) 436-442, 1983.
Inspire Record 195139 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23772

We have studied the quasielastic reaction νμn→μ−p in an exposure of the Fermilab deuterium-filled 15-foot bubble chamber to a high-energy wide-band neutrino beam. From an analysis of the Q2 distribution based on the standard V−A theory, the axial-vector mass in a dipole parametrization of the axial-vector form factor is determined to be MA=1.05−0.16+0.12 GeV, consistent with the values previously reported from low-energy experiments.

Elastic Scattering of $\pi^{\pm}$ and $K^{\pm}$ on Protons at 100-GeV/c and 200-GeV/c

Kalbach, R.M. ; Krueger, K.W. ; Pifer, A.E. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 27 (1983) 2752-2754, 1983.
Inspire Record 195613 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23833

Data are presented on elastic πp and Kp scattering for values of −t up to 2.5 and 3.5 (GeV/c)2 at incident momenta of 100 and 200 GeV/c, respectively. All of the cross sections are found to be nearly identical, although there is some momentum dependence of the π+p data; a small systematic difference observed between pion and kaon data cannot be explained by geometrical scaling.

CHARACTERISTICS OF NEUTRAL CURRENT INTERACTIONS INDUCED BY NEUTRINOS

Marriner, J. ; Barbaro-Galtieri, A. ; Bosetti, P. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 27 (1983) 2569-2579, 1983.
Inspire Record 195608 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23834

The ratio of neutral-current to charged-current interactions is measured to be 0.30±0.03 for isoscalar targets, in good agreement with the results of previous experiments. Two independent methods are employed for isolating neutral-current events, one based on hadronic interactions, and the other on the momentum transverse to the hadron shower. The ratio of neutral-current interactions on neutrons to those on protons is measured to be 1.08±0.19.

STUDY OF A2 PRODUCTION IN THE REACTION PI- P ---> K0 K- P AT 50-GEV/C, 100-GEV/C, AND 175-GEV/C

Bromberg, C. ; Dickey, J.o. ; Fox, G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 27 (1983) 1-11, 1983.
Inspire Record 191493 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23901

The reaction π−p→K0K−p has been measured from 50 to 175 GeV/c. The production characteristics of the A2 have been analyzed. We find spin and t dependence similar to lower energies, but the cross section falls rapidly with energy. In a Regge description of π−p→A2−p our data imply a rather small Pomeron-exchange component.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ANTI-P P AND P P INTERACTIONS AT 8.8-GeV/c AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO ANTI-P P ANNIHILATIONS

Booth, C.n. ; Ansorge, R.e. ; Carter, J.r. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 27 (1983) 2018, 1983.
Inspire Record 194364 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23838

We report on an experiment in which the SLAC 40-in. hybrid facility was exposed to an 8.8-GeV/c antiproton beam. Using external detectors we have identified a large fraction of nonannihilation events and thus obtained a clean sample of annihilation data. Using proton interactions taken in the same detector at the same energy we have made a detailed study of (p¯p−pp) differences and explored their relationship to p¯p annihilations.

The Reactions $pp \to pp$ $\pi^+ \pi^-, K^+ p \to K^+ p$ $\pi^+ \pi^-$, $\pi^+ p \to \pi^+ p$ $\pi^+ \pi^-$ and $\pi^- p \to \pi^+ \pi^-$ at 147 GeV/c

We have studied the reactionspp→ppπ+π-,K+p→K+pπ+π−π, π+p→ π+,pπ+π− and π−p →π+π− at 147 GeV/c using the 30-inch Fermilab hybrid system. All four reactions were detected with the same apparatus and analyzed in the same way. The energy dependence of the channel cross section was found to beAp−0.6+B for thepp reaction andAp−1+B for the other three. About 90% of the cross section at 147 GeV/c can be accounted for by either beam or target diffraction. Some of the remaining cross section may come from double Pomeron exchange reactions which we tried to isolate. We have tested the hypothesis of a factorizable Pomeron and our data indicates a violation of this hypothesis. We show that the 3π mass enhancement in the mass region 1.2–1.4 GeV is diffractively produced in the π± beam reactions. Fourprong, four-constraint and six-prong, four-constraint cross sections are reported.

The Reaction $\gamma p \to p \omega \pi^+ \pi^-$ for Photon Energies of 25-{GeV} - 50-{GeV}

The Omega Photon collaboration Atkinson, M. ; Axon, T.J. ; Barberis, D. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 229 (1983) 269-283, 1983.
Inspire Record 189045 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33921

Measurements of the reaction γ p → p ωπ + π − are reported for photon energies 25–50 GeV. Particular attention is paid to ωπ + π − masses < 2 GeV. A search is made for ω′ or φ′ partners of the ϱ′(1600). Evidence is presented against the existence of narrow states and against the production of a broad state by an s -channel helicity conserving mechanism.

Multiplicities of Secondary Hadrons Produced in Neutrino $p$ and Anti-neutrino $p$ Charged Current Interactions

The Aachen-Birmingham-Bonn-CERN-London-Munich-Oxford collaboration Grassler, H. ; Lanske, D. ; Schulte, R. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 223 (1983) 269-295, 1983.
Inspire Record 189061 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33964

In an experiment with the hydrogen bubble chamber BEBC at CERN multiplicities of hadrons produced in νp and v p interactions have been investigated. Results are presented on the multiplicities of charged hadrons and neutral pions, forward and backward multiplicities of charged hadrons and correlations between forward and backward multiplicities. Comparisons are made with hadronic reactions and e + e − annihilation. In the framework of the quark-parton model the data imply similar charged multiplicities for the fragments of a u- and a d-quark, and a larger multiplicities for the fragments of a uu- than for a ud-diquark. The correlation data suggest independent fragmentation of the quark and diquark for hadronic masses above ∼ 7 GeV and local charge compensation within an event.

Photoproduction of an Isoscalar 3$\pi$ Resonance at 1.67 GeV

The Bonn-CERN-Glasgow-Lancaster-Manchester-Paris-Rutherford-Sheffield collaboration Atkinson, M. ; Axon, T.J. ; Barberis, D. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 127 (1983) 132-136, 1983.

A ϱπ enhancement with mass 1.67 ± 0.02GeV and width 0.16 ± 0.02GeV is observed in the channel γp→pπ + π − π 0 . Assuming an incoherent background, the cross section × branching ratio is 100 ± 20 nb. A spin-parity analysis favours J P = 1 − . The enhancement is most simply interpreted as a radial recurrence of the ω meson.
