The v and v nucleon total cross-sections have been determined as a function of energy using a sample of 2500 v and 950 v event. The results are compared with predictions of scaling and charge symmetry hypotheses.

Study of Quasielastic Reactions of Neutrino and anti-neutrino in Gargamelle

The quasi-elastic cross-sectionsσeltot and dσ/dq2 for the reactions 1) νn → μ−p and 2)$\overline v $ → μ+n have been measured by using the data of the ν Gargamelle collaboration. 687 ν events, candidates for reaction 1), and 476$\overline v $ events, candidates for the reactions 2), have been used for the analysis. Because the ν and$\overline v $ interactions are on nuclei, suitable corrections for nuclear effects have been taken into account. In the framework of the «usual»V −A theory, by assuming for the axial form factor the dipolar formFA(q2)=1.23/(1 +q2/MA/2)2, our data have been fitted to the differential cross-section dσ/dq2 integrated over the ν and$\overline v $ energy spectra and to the total cross-sectionσeltot as a function of the ν,$\overline v $ energy to determine the best value for the parameterMA.

Average total cross sections are given for neutrino charged current interactions at neutrino energies of 2.87 GeV and 9.05 GeV. The ratios 〈σ〉〈E〉 are 0.69 ± 0.05 and 0.61 ± 0.06 in units of 10 −38 cm 2 /GeV nucleon, respectively The errors include both statistical and systematic uncertainties.

Inclusive Production of $K^*$ (892) and $\Sigma$ (1385) in $\bar{p} p$ Interactions at 3.6-{GeV}/$c$ and a Test of Factorization Hypothesis

We present a study of the inclusive production ofK*(892) and ∑t+-(1385)+cc at 3.6 GeV/c from$\bar p$p interactions. The sensitivity of the exposure is 35.4 events/μb. Longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions are presented. The indirect production ofKs0 from parentK* and that of Λ's from parent Σ(1385) are studied. The shape of thex distribution of Λ's for$p\xrightarrow{{\bar p}}\Lambda $ are calculated from$p\xrightarrow{p}\Lambda $ and$p\xrightarrow{{\pi ^ -}}\Lambda $ and compared with the experimental distributions. The difference of antiparticle production cross-section ofKs0 in the central region is compared with the expectation from Mueller-Regge formalism.

This Letter compares neutral-current and charged-current scaling-variable distributions in neutrino-nucleon interactions induced by a narrow-band beam at Brookhaven National Laboratory; the x distribution of neutral-current events has been reported previously. The first measurement of flux-normalized neutrino cross sections from a narrow-band beam in the energy range Eν=3−9 GeV is also presented.

Limit on the B ---> u Coupling from Semileptonic B Decay

We have used the momentum spectrum of leptons produced in semileptonic B-meson decays to set a 90%-confidence-level upper limit on Γ(b→ulν)Γ(b→clν) of 4%. We also measure the semileptonic branching fractions of the B meson to be (12.0±0.7±0.5)% for electrons and (10.8±0.6±1.0)% for muons.
