Differential cross sections for neutral-pion photoproduction on hydrogen in the region of the first resonance have been measured by two independent experiments detecting the recoil protons. The results of both measurements have been combined into one set of cross sections covering the photon energy range from 200 to 440 MeV at pion c.m. angles between 50 and 160 degrees.

A study of k+ d interactions from 865 to 1585 mev/c

We present experimental results on K + d interactions from 865 to 1585 MeV/ c incident beam momentum. We report measurements of several K + d partial cross sections and calculate most of the others using relations derived from isospin conservation and data from other experiments. The most striking feature of the cross section data is the abrupt rise of the total single-pion-production cross section near 1000 MeV/ c . We extract isospin-0 KN partial cross sections and find a rapid quasi-two-body reaction KN → K ∗ N . As in the case of the isospin-1 K + N system, it appears that the structure around 1200 MeV/ c in the total cross section for the isospin-0 K ∗ N system is well reconstructed by the sum of three smoothly varying channel cross sections σ 0 (KN), σ 0 (KN π ) and σ 0 (KN ππ ). We study thereaction KN → K ∗ N near threshold and find that the production and decay angular distributions can be interpreted in terms of t -channel phenomena, specifically a superposition of ω, ϱ, and π exchange. As is true of the isospin-1 KΔ and K ∗ N final states, the isospin-0 K ∗ N state has a behavior near threshold which is not very different from its behavior at much higher energy.

Experimental Evidence for Structures in the Momentum Dependence of the n + p --> p + n Charge-Exchange Peak Between 1-GeV/c and 2-GeV/c

Nucl.Phys.B 85 (1975) 14-30, 1975.
Inspire Record 615 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.7809

21 differential cross section measurements of the np → pn charge-exchange reaction have been carried out at the synchrotron Saturne (Saclay), for incident neutron momenta between 1 and 2 GeV/ c and in the squared four-momentum transfer range 0 ⩽ −t ⩽ 0.4 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The π exchange peak is seen at all the incident momenta. The s dependence of the very forward slope of this peak shows weak structures near the threshold of inelastic channels.

The Photoproduction of Neutral Pions from Protons Between 0.7-GeV and 1.7-GeV

Inspire Record 90496 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32128

Measurements of differential cross sections for pi-zero photoproduction from protons have been made at angles between 60° and 140° c.m. in the photon energy range 0.7 GeV to 1.7 GeV. The data are compared with the rits provided by three recent partial-wave analyses of pion photoproduction and some significant discrepancies observed.

K+- proton scattering from 200 to 600 MeV/c

Phys.Rev.D 10 (1974) 2767-2777, 1974.
Inspire Record 97215 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24945

The differential cross section for K+p elastic scattering has been measured at several momenta in the interval 200-600 MeV/c within a hydrogen bubble chamber. The data have been fitted with a partial-wave analysis. We obtain solutions which are dominated over the entire momentum range by s-wave scattering, with constructive interference between the nuclear and Coulomb scattering. The effective-range approximation with only s waves yields a K+p scattering length a=−0.314±0.007 F and an effective range r0=0.36±0.007 F. The measured total inelastic cross section at 588 MeV/c is 11−5+9 μb.

Elastic and inelastic scattering of 1.044 GeV protons have been studied on isotopically enriched even 40, 42, 44, 48 Ca isotopes and 48 Ti. A spin independent Glauber theory analysis of the elastic scattering allowed the extraction of neutron and nuclear matter densities for these targets.

He-3 Production in He-4 Fragmentation on Protons at 6.85-GeV/c

Bizard, G. ; Le Brun, C. ; Berger, J. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.A 285 (1977) 461-468, 1977.
Inspire Record 125054 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37099

The angular distribution of the inclusive reaction 4 He + p → 3 He + X was measured with 6.85 GeV/ c incident alphas. At large angles, the observed kinematics corresponds to the elastic scattering on the target proton of an 3 He present in the incoming 4 He, the remaining neutron being a spectator. This shows the presence of an important component of 3 He in 4 He. The integrated cross section for 3 He production is σ 3He = 24.1 ± 1.9 mb.

Extreme Back Angle n H-2 Elastic Scattering at 794-MeV

Phys.Rev.C 17 (1978) 671-675, 1978.
Inspire Record 134672 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26401

The cross section for elastic scattering of 794-MeV neutrons by deuterium has been measured for neutron center of mass angles from 139° to 179°. The angular distribution is fitted very well both by an empirical function αeβ(μ−μ180∘) and by a calculation that uses the one parameter Craigie-Wilkin triangle diagram technique. [NUCLEAR REACTION nH2→H2n, E=794 MeV; measured σ(θ). Calculated σ(θ) with triangle diagram techniques.]

Differential cross sections and polarization asymmetries for the reaction p + p → d + π + have been measured at 0.8 GeV. The data has been analyzed within the formalism of Mandl and Regge and the results are compared with the recent coupled channel calculations of Niskanen. It is concluded that at this energy the production of upto f-wave pions is important.
