We present a measurement of angular observables, $P_4'$, $P_5'$, $P_6'$, $P_8'$, in the decay $B^0 \to K^\ast(892)^0 \ell^+ \ell^-$, where $\ell^+\ell^-$ is either $e^+e^-$ or $\mu^+\mu^-$. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $711~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ containing $772\times 10^{6}$ $B\bar B$ pairs, collected at the $\Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider KEKB. Four angular observables, $P_{4,5,6,8}'$ are extracted in five bins of the invariant mass squared of the lepton system, $q^2$. We compare our results for $P_{4,5,6,8}'$ with Standard Model predictions including the $q^2$ region in which the LHCb collaboration reported the so-called $P_5'$ anomaly.
Results of the angular analysis of $B^0 \to K^\ast(892)^0 \ell^+ \ell^-$ (where $\ell = e,\mu$) in five bins of $q^2$, the di-lepton invariant mass squared.
In this paper Au+Au collisions at 11.6A GeV/c are characterized by two global observables: the energy measured near zero degrees (EZCAL) and the total event multiplicity. Particle spectra are measured for different event classes that are defined in a two-dimensional grid of both global observables. For moderately central events (σ/σint<12%) the proton dN/dy distributions do not depend on EZCAL but only on the event multiplicity. In contrast the shape of the proton transverse spectra shows little dependence on the event multiplicity. The change in the proton dN/dy distributions suggests that different conditions are formed in the collision for different event classes. These event classes are studied for signals of new physics by measuring pion and kaon spectra and yields. In the event classes doubly selected on EZCAL and multiplicity there is no indication of any unusual pion or kaon yields, spectra, or K/π ratio even in the events with extreme multiplicity.

The results of a search for pair production of the lighter scalar partners of top quarks in 2.05 fb-1 of pp collisions at sqrt(s) =7 TeV using the ATLAS experiment at the LHC are reported. Scalar top quarks are searched for in events with two same flavour opposite-sign leptons (electrons or muons) with invariant mass consistent with the Z boson mass, large missing transverse momentum and jets in the final state. At least one of the jets is identified as originating from a b-quark. No excess over Standard Model expectations is found. The results are interpreted in the framework of R-parity conserving, gauge mediated Supersymmetry breaking `natural' scenarios, where the neutralino is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle. Scalar top quark masses up to 310 GeV are excluded for the lightest neutralino mass between 115 GeV and 230 GeV at 95% confidence level, reaching an exclusion of the scalar top quark mass of 330 GeV for the lightest neutralino mass of 190 GeV. Scalar top quark masses below 240 GeV are excluded for all values of the lightest neutralino mass above the Z boson mass.

The distrubution of leading jet pT for SR1 for the combined EE and MUMU channels. Tabulated are the observed Data rates and the Standard Model predictions as well as the distributions expected for two signal scenarios, both with an STOP mass of 250 GeV, and NEUTRALINO1 masses of 100 GeV and 220 GeV respectively. The last pT bin includes the number of overflow events for both data abd SM expectation.
InclusiveKs0, Λ and\(\bar \Lambda\)-production has been investigated in\(\bar p\)p-interactions at 22.4 GeV/c. Total and topological cross sections and multiplicity characteristics of neutral strange particles have been determined. DifferentialKs0 and Λ-cross sections and also characteristics of annihilation processes with neutral kaon production have been studied. It is shown that the difference of the shapes of the invariantx-distributions forK-mesons in the fragmentation region for annihilation and non-annihilation processes can be described in the framework of the “dual” valon model, but not by considering the current (undressed) quark recombination mechanisms only. The polarization of Λ and\(\bar \Lambda\)-hyperons has been measured.

Topological cross sections and characteristics of charged particle multiplicity distributions for¯nn andnn interactions and¯nn annihilations at 6·1 GeV/c are presented. KNO-distributions for¯nn andnn interactions are very similar. Characteristics for¯nn and¯pp annihilations are identical at equal energies.

This Letter presents the first search for a heavy particle decaying into an e\mu final state in sqrt(s)=7 TeV pp collisions at the LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS detector during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 35/pb. No excess above the Standard Model background expectation is observed. Exclusions at 95% confidence level are placed on two representative models. In an R-parity violating supersymmetric model, tau sneutrinos with a mass below 0.75 TeV are excluded, assuming single coupling dominance and the couplings lambda'_{311}=0.11, lambda_{312}=0.07. In a lepton flavor violating model, a Z'-like vector boson with masses of 0.70 to 1.00 TeV and corresponding cross sections times branching ratios of 0.175 to 0.183 pb is excluded. These results extend to higher mass RPV sneutrinos and LFV Z's than previous constraints from the Tevatron.
