We present a study of the third moment of the inclusive momentum distribution of particles within jets produced by e + e - annihilation at TRISTAN. In this analysis, the QCD coupling strength α s is determined by fits to the prediction of the Next-to-Leading Logarithm Parton-Shower model. The measured value of α s (57.9 GeV ) = 0.134 -0.005 +0.006 .

We present a new determination of the nonsinglet structure function ${\mathit{F}}_{2}^{\mathit{p}}$ - ${\mathit{F}}_{2}^{\mathit{n}}$ at ${\mathit{Q}}^{2}$=4 ${\mathrm{GeV}}^{2}$ using recently measured values of ${\mathit{F}}_{2}^{\mathit{d}}$ and ${\mathit{F}}_{2}^{\mathit{n}}$/${\mathit{F}}_{2}^{\mathit{p}}$. A new evaluation of the Gottfried sum is given, which remains below the simple quark-parton model value of 1/3.

Measurement of b anti-b correlations at the CERN p anti-p collider

Inspire Record 359461 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.14368

We report on measurements of correlated\(b\bar b\) production in\(p\bar p\) collisions at\(\sqrt s = 630GeV\), using dimuon data to tag both theb and\(\bar b\) quarks. Starting from an inclusive dimuon sample we obtain improved cross-sections for single inclusive beauty production and confirm our earlier results on\(B^0 - \bar B^0\) mixing. From a study of\(b\bar b\) correlations we derive explicit cross-sections for semi-differential\(b\bar b\) production. We compare the measured cross-sections and correlations to\(\mathcal{O}\left( {\alpha _s^3 } \right)\) QCD predictions and find good quantitative agreement. From the measured angular distributions we establish a size-able contribution from higher order QCD processes with a significance of about seven standard deviations. A large nonperturbative contribution to these higher order corrections is excluded.

Multistrange baryon and antibaryon production is suggested to be a useful probe in the search for Quark-Gluon Plasma formation. We report the detection of an Ω − + Ω − signal in central S + W interactions at 200 A GeV/c and measure the ratio Ω − Ω − = 0.57±0.41 at central rapidity and p T >1.6 GeV/ c .

Phys.Lett.B 316 (1993) 412-426, 1993.
Inspire Record 357414 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28804

This paper presents our first measurement of the F 2 structure function in neutral-current, deep inelastic scattering using the ZEUS detector at HERA, the ep colliding beam facility at DESY. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 24.7 nb −1 . Results are presented for data in range of Q 2 from 10 GeV 2 to 4700 GeV 2 and Bjorken x down to 3.0 × 10 −4 . The F 2 structure function increases rapidly as x decreases.

A Measurement of Elastic $J / \psi$ Photoproduction Cross Section at Fermilab E687

The E687 collaboration Frabetti, P.L. ; Paolone, V.S. ; Yager, P.M. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 316 (1993) 197-206, 1993.
Inspire Record 359356 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28834

Measurements of elastic photoproduction cross sections for the J / ψ meson from 100 GeV to 375 GeV are presented. The results indicate that the cross section increases slowly in this range. The shape of the energy dependence agrees well with the photon-gluon fusion model prediction.

Nucl.Phys.B 407 (1993) 515-538, 1993.
Inspire Record 357797 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37121

A measurement of the proton structure function F 2 ( x , Q 2 ) is presented with about 1000 neutral current deep inelastic scattering events for Bjorken x in the range x ⋍ 10 −2 – 10 −4 and Q 2 > 5 GeV 2 . The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of 22.5 nb −1 recorded by the H1 detector in the first year of HERA operation. The structure function F 2 ( x , Q 2 ) shows a significant rise with decreasing x .

We have measured the branching ratio for the hyperon radiative decay Ξ−→Σ−γ from a sample of 211±33 events obtained in the polarized 375 GeV/c charged hyperon beam at Fermilab. We find B(Ξ−→Σ−γ/Ξ−→Λ0π−)=(1.22±0.23±0.06)×10−4 where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. We have also obtained an indication that the sign of the asymmetry parameter of this decay is positive.

Phys.Rev.D 50 (1994) 1879-1883, 1994.
Inspire Record 357776 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.38389

We have measured the inclusive $D~{*\pm}$ production cross section in a two-photon collision at the TRISTAN $e~+e~-$ collider. The mean $\sqrt{s}$ of the collider was 57.16 GeV and the integrated luminosity was 150 $pb~{-1}$. The differential cross section ($d\sigma(D~{*\pm})/dP_T$) was obtained in the $P_T$ range between 1.6 and 6.6 GeV and compared with theoretical predictions, such as those involving direct and resolved photon processes.
