A-dependence of $\eta$ Meson Inclusive Production at 10.5-{GeV}/$c$

Bitsadze, G.S. ; Budagov, Yu.A. ; Chirikov-Zorin, I.E. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 279 (1987) 770, 1987.
Inspire Record 231123 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.39482

The experimental results are presented for ratios of ν-meson inclusive differential cross sections in 10.5 GeV/ c π + p, π + D and π + A collisions, R D/p =(d σ /d x F )( π + D → η X)/ (d σ /d x F ) π + p→ η X), R A =(d σ /d x F )( π + D→ η X) in the beam fragmentation region. The results are based on the statistics of ≈ 5 × 10 4 detected η → 2 γ decays. It is shown that the power α in the parametrisation R A ≈ A α ( xf ) does not change significantly with x F and its mean value is 0.50±0.02. The lower limit is obtained for the effective coefficient with string tension in the colour string model, κ ⩾ 3 GeV/fm. The observed growth of R A with x F can be explained by an assumption of a neutron halo with the factor H ≈ 4 in the nuclei.

Analysis of hadronic final states and the photon structure function F2(gamma) in deep inelastic electron photon scattering at LEP.

Inspire Record 426209 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47770

Deep inelastic electron-photon scattering is studied in the Q2 ranges from 6 to 30 GeV2 and from 60 to 400 GeV2 using the full sample of LEP data taken with the OPAL detector at centre-of-mass energies close to the Z0 mass, with an integrated luminosity of 156.4 pb−1. Energy flow distributions and other properties of the measured hadronic final state are compared with the predictions of Monte Carlo models, including HERWIG and PYTHIA. Sizeable differences are found between the data and the models, especially at low values of the scaling variable x. New measurements are presented of the photon structure function $F_2^{αmma }(x,Q^2)$, allowing for the first time for uncertainties in the description of the final state by different Monte Carlo models. The differences between the data and the models contribute significantly to the systematic errors on $F_2^{αmma }$. The slope ${⤪ d}(F_2^{αmma }/←pha )/{⤪ d ln} Q^2$ is measured to be $0.13_{-0.04}^{+0.06}$.

Bounds on the CP asymmetry in like sign dileptons from B0 anti-B0 meson decays

The CLEO collaboration Jaffe, D.E. ; Mahapatra, R. ; Masek, G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 86 (2001) 5000-5003, 2001.
Inspire Record 551926 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47284

We have measured the charge asymmetry in like-sign dilepton yields from B^0 B^0-bar meson decays using the CLEO detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. We find a_ll = [N(l+l+) - N(l-l-)]/[N(l+l+) + N[l-l-)] = +0.013 +/- 0.050 +/- 0.005 . We combine this result with a previous, independent measurement and obtain Re(epsilon_B)/(1+|epsilon_B|^2) = +0.0035 +/- 0.0103 +/- 0.0015 (uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively) for the CP impurity parameter, epsilon_B.
