The differential cross sections for γp→γp and γp→π0p have been measured for incident photon energies in the range of 2 to 6 GeV and for |t| ranging from 0.7 to 4.3 GeV2. This corresponds to a center-of-mass angle range of 45° to 128°. The energy dependence of the data is compared to that predicted by several parton models.

THE TOTAL CROSS SECTION HAS BEEN CALCULATED FROM R.
We have extended our survey of the reaction γ+p→p+e++e− by collecting 20 000 additional e+e− pairs in the invariant-mass region 900<m<1500 MeV. The measured interference pattern shows two enhancements at mass values of 1097 and 1266 MeV. The parameters of those structure, when interpreted as vector mesons in the VDM framework, are given.

From a muon-proton scattering experiment with a streamer chamber at the Stanford Linear Accelerator we present results in the ranges 0.3<Q2<4.7 GeV2 and 1.7<W<4.7 GeV for the reactions μ+p→μpV where V is a vector meson (ρ0, ω, or φ). It is shown that in ρ production the skewing parameter and the longitudinal-transverse ratio change significantly as Q2 increases above 1 GeV2. The cross section for ρ0 production as a function of Q2 falls below the vector-meson-dominance prediction. The ratio of the cross section for exclusive vector-meson production to the total cross section falls by a factor of 10 between photoproduction and a Q2 of 2 GeV2, yet the ratio of ω to ρ production remains constant at the photoproduction value out to Q2>2 GeV2.
THE ABSOLUTE TOTAL CROSS SECTION IS FROM A FIT TO THE MIT-SLAC ELECTRON SCATTERING DATA BY W. ATWOOD AND S. STEIN.

The cross section ratio of the elastic neutral current reaction ν p→ ν p to the quasi-elastic charged current reaction ν n→ μ − p has been measured in the kinematical region 0.3⩽ q 2 ⩽1.0 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The measured value is R M =0.17±0.08. Model dependent corrections are applied, especially for ν n→ ν n contamination, and the result is compared to various models.
(C=OBSERVED) and (C=CORRECTED) are the observed and corrected for the nuclear effects ratios.
We report measurements of the electroproduction of ϕ mesons from hydrogen at Q2 values of 0.23, 0.43, and 0.97 GeV2 with |t| varying from 0.125 to 1.3 GeV2 at each Q2 point. The data show no evidence for a Q2 dependence of the slope of the t distribution; the forward cross section falls with increasing Q2 as the square of the ϕ propagator; the decay angular distributions agree with the predictions of s-channel helicity conservation; and the ratio of the longitudinal to the transverse component increases linearly with Q2.

We have measured the production cross section for K s 0 in e + e − annihilation from 3.6 to 5.0 GeV center of mass energy. A substantial increase of the K s 0 yield is observed around 4 GeV in qualitative agreement with the charm hypothesis.
THE DATA GIVEN HERE AT 9.3 GEV AND ABOVE ARE REPORTED IN C. BERGER ET AL., PL 104B, 79 (1981). THE 12.0 AND 30 GEV DATA WERE TAKEN AT PETRA.

The quasi-elastic cross-sectionsσeltot and dσ/dq2 for the reactions 1) νn → μ−p and 2)\(\overline v \) → μ+n have been measured by using the data of the ν Gargamelle collaboration. 687 ν events, candidates for reaction 1), and 476\(\overline v \) events, candidates for the reactions 2), have been used for the analysis. Because the ν and\(\overline v \) interactions are on nuclei, suitable corrections for nuclear effects have been taken into account. In the framework of the «usual»V −A theory, by assuming for the axial form factor the dipolar formFA(q2)=1.23/(1 +q2/MA/2)2, our data have been fitted to the differential cross-section dσ/dq2 integrated over the ν and\(\overline v \) energy spectra and to the total cross-sectionσeltot as a function of the ν,\(\overline v \) energy to determine the best value for the parameterMA.

The reactions K + p → K ∗+ (890) p , K + p → K ∗+ (1420) p and K + p → K 0 Δ ++ have been systematically studied for eleven incident momenta between 3.0 and 16.0 GeV/ c . Cross sections, differential cross sections and density matrix elements are presented. For K ∗ (890) production the contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchanges have also been separated into I = 0 and I = 1 components. Effective trajectories have been extracted in the case of natural parity exchange, and also for Δ ++ production.
