The polarization of the $\Upsilon(1S)$, $\Upsilon(2S)$ and $\Upsilon(3S) $mesons, produced in $pp$ collisions at centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$=7 and 8TeV, is measured using data samples collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 1 and 2fb$^{-1}$, respectively. The measurements are performed in three polarization frames, using $\Upsilon\to\mu^+\mu^-$ decays in the kinematic region of the transverse momentum $p_{T}(\Upsilon)<30GeV/c$, and rapidity $2.2
The polarization parameter $\lambda_{\theta}$ measured in the helicity frame for the $\Upsilon(1S)$ state in different bins of $p_{T}^{\Upsilon}$ and three rapidity ranges using data collected at $\sqrt{s}=7\,\mathrm{TeV}$. The first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.
The polarization parameter $\lambda_{\theta\phi}$ measured in the helicity frame for the $\Upsilon(1S)$ state in different bins of $p_{T}^{\Upsilon}$ and three rapidity ranges using data collected at $\sqrt{s}=7\,\mathrm{TeV}$. The first uncertainty is statistical and the second represents the systematic uncertainty.

The results of tagged photon measurements of the 16O(γ, pn) and 16O(γ, pp) reactions, carried out with photons of energies of 80–131 MeV, are presented. Missing energy spectra for both reactions, with an energy resolution of 7 MeV have been obtained. The 16O(γ, pn) missing energy spectrum is very similar to that recently measured for the 12C(γ, pN) reaction. In both cases the recoil momentum distributions are quantitavely described by a quasideuteron mechanism. Using normalisation factors based on this mechanism the average cross section for the 16O(γ, pn) reaction, for nucleons ejected from the 1p shell, is 510 ± 95 μb. The corresponding cross section for the 16O(γ, pp) reaction is 10.0 ± 3.0 μb.

Differential cross-sections are presented for the inclusive production of charged pions in the momentum range 0.1 to 1.2 GeV/c in interactions of 12.3 and 17.5 GeV/c protons with Be, Cu, and Au targets. The measurements were made by Experiment 910 at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron in Brookhaven National Laboratory. The cross-sections are presented as a function of pion total momentum and production polar angle $\theta$ with respect to the beam.

Charged vector D*+(2010) meson production is studied in a high energy neutrino bubble chamber experiment with mean neutrino energy of 141 GeV. The D*+ are produced in (5.6±1.8)% of the neutrino charged current interactions, indicating a steep increase of cross section with energy. The mean fractional hadronic energy of the D*+ meson is 0.55 ± 0.06.

Absolute differential and integrated-over-angle cross sections for the reactions 12 C( γ , π 0 ) 12 C and 13 C( γ , π 0 ) 13 C leaving the residual nuclei in the ground state have been measured with tagged bremsstrahlung photons in the near threshold region (170.1 MeV ≤ E γ ≤ 176.8 MeV). This reaction mechanism is sensitive to the whole nuclear volume and the coherent processes which occur are revealed by comparing the extracted cross sections for both isotopes with each other and with theoretical calculations.

Using data onvp and\(\bar vp\) charged current interactions from a bubble chamber experiment with BEBC at CERN, the average multiplicities of charged hadrons and pions are determined as functions ofW2 andQ2. The analysis is based on ∼20000 events with incidentv and ∼10000 events with incident\(\bar v\). In addition to the known dependence of the average multiplicity onW2 a weak dependence onQ2 for fixed intervals ofW is observed. ForW>2 GeV andQ2>0.1 GeV2 the average multiplicity of charged hadrons is well described by〈n〉=a1+a2ln(W2/GeV2)+a3ln(Q2/GeV2) witha1=0.465±0.053,a2=1.211±0.021,a3=0.103±0.014 for thevp anda1=−0.372±0.073,a2=1.245±0.028,a3=0.093±0.015 for the\(\bar vp\) reaction.
