The energy dependence of the differential cross section for $\pi^+ p$ elastic scattering at a c.m. angle near 174 ° has been measured. The momentum range of incident $\pi^+$ was 2.06-4.70 GeV/c. On this energy dependence one can see a structure, i.e. maxima corresponding to the baryon resonances $\Delta(2420)$ and $\Delta(2840)$. The structure is used for determination of the parities of these resonances.

High precision measurement of the associated strangeness production in proton proton interactions

The COSY-TOF collaboration Jowzaee, S. ; Borodina, E. ; Clement, H. ; et al.
Eur.Phys.J.A 52 (2016) 7, 2016.
Inspire Record 1393330 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.70735

A new high precision measurement of the reaction pp -> pK+Lambda at a beam momentum of 2.95 GeV/c with more than 200,000 analyzed events allows a detailed analysis of differential observables and their inter-dependencies. Correlations of the angular distributions with momenta are examined. The invariant mass distributions are compared for different regions in the Dalitz plots. The cusp structure at the N Sigma threshold is described with the Flatt\'e formalism and its variation in the Dalitz plot is analyzed.

Elastic scattering of 2.7 GeV/c antiprotons on protons

Domingo, V. ; Fisher, G.P. ; Marshall Libby, L. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 24 (1967) 642-644, 1967.
Inspire Record 1392675 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.29564

The differential elastic scattering cross section for 2.7 GeV c antiprotons on protons has been studied using film from the 20″ BNL hydrogen bubble chamber. The diffraction pattern based on a total sample of 7300 events shows a sharp forward maximum, a first diffraction minimum, and a second maximum. The forward diffraction peak is fitted by ( d σ d t ) elastic =[325 ± 6 mb ( GeV c ) 2 ] exp [−13.3 ± 0.2( GeV c ) −2 t and the total elastic cross section is found to be 25.6 ± 0.6 mb. The first and second diffraction peaks are fitted by the optical model formula for a “black” disc. d σ d t ∼ [j 1 (2k R sin 1 2 θ)] 2 (1 + a cos θ) 2 where R = 1.2 fm and a = −5.

Some cross-sections for the photo-production of neutral Pi-mesons from hydrogen at energies from 360 to 938 MeV

Dougan, P. ; Kivikas, T. ; Lugner, K. ; et al.
Z.Phys.A 274 (1975) 73-78, 1975.
Inspire Record 1385254 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.16654

Some cross-sections for the photo-production of ~z~ from hydrogen for pion c.m. angles in the range 60~ ~ are presented. The data have been obtained by measuring proton yields from a hydrogen target, thus permitting separation of single-pion production from the strong background caused by double-pion production. The values, which extend from 360 to 938 MeV, show reasonable agreement with the results of a recent phase-shift analysis

Measurement of the g p -> K^0 Sigma^+ reaction with the Crystal Ball/TAPS detectors at the Mainz Microtron

The A2 collaboration Aguar-Bartolome, P. ; Annand, J.R.M. ; Arends, H.J. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 88 (2013) 044601, 2013.
Inspire Record 1237227 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.64391

The g p -> K^0 Sigma^+ reaction has been measured from threshold to Eg=1.45 GeV (W_cm=1.9 GeV) using the Crystal Ball and TAPS multiphoton spectrometers together with the photon tagging facility at the Mainz Microtron MAMI. In the present experiment, this reaction was searched for in the 3pi^0 p final state, by assuming K^0_S -> pi^0 pi^0 and Sigma^+ -> pi^0 p. The experimental results include total and differential cross sections as well as the polarization of the recoil hyperon. The new data significantly improve empirical knowledge about the g p -> K^0 Sigma^+ reaction in the measured energy range. The results are compared to previous measurements and model predictions. It is demonstrated that adding the present g p -> K^0 Sigma^+ results to existing data allowed a better description of this reaction with various models.

Single-$\pi^{0}$ photoproduction from hydrogen around the «Second resonance»

Nuovo Cim. 44 239-252, 1966.
Inspire Record 1185321 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37693

New results are presented on the differential cross-section for the reaction α+p→π0+p, at energies between 600 and 1000 MeV, and c.m. pion angles Θ*π=40° and Θ*π=60°. The present data, together with that at Θ*π=40° already published (11), show an angle-independent position of the second resonance at about 750 MeV. Rather flat angular distributions in the forward c.m. hemisphere are also favoured by these data. On comparing the cross-sections obtained when detecting both the neutral pion and the recoil proton, and when detecting only the latter, estimates of the background of «ghost protons» are obtained, in agreement with the empirical curve proposed in ref. (11).

Proton compton effect

Inspire Record 1184998 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37758

The elastic scattering of photons by protons has been measured for 100 MeV to 290 MeV photons at 90° c.m.s. and 139° c.m.s. scattering angles. The expected large increase in cross-section is observed at energies approaching that of (3/2, 3/2) pion-nucleon resonance. The scattering can be qualitatively explained by the ordinary Thomson amplitude combined with that of the (3/2, 3/2) resonance. A more detailed examination of the cross-section in the region just above the photo-meson threshold has shown that it is sensitive to the π0 photon coupling. From the experimental data, one may conclude that the π0 mean life should be between 10−16 and 10−18 s.

Photoproduction of Neutral Pions off Protons

Phys.Rev.C 84 (2011) 055203, 2011.
Inspire Record 917921 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.61486

Photoproduction of neutral pions has been studied with the CBELSA/TAPS detector in the reaction $\gamma p\to p\pi^0$ for photon energies between 0.85 and 2.50 GeV. The $\pi^0$ mesons are observed in their dominant neutral decay mode: $\pi^0\to\gamma\gamma$. For the first time, the differential cross sections cover the very forward region, $\theta_{\rm c.m.}<60^\circ$. A partial-wave analysis of these data within the Bonn-Gatchina framework observes the high-mass resonances $G_{17}$(2190), $D_{13}$(2080), and $D_{15}$(2070).

Study of the gp-->etap reaction with the Crystal Ball detector at the Mainz Microtron(MAMI-C)

The Crystal Ball at MAMI collaboration McNicoll, E.F. ; Prakhov, S. ; Strakovsky, I.I. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 82 (2010) 035208, 2010.
Inspire Record 860725 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.56733

The gp-->etap reaction has been measured with the Crystal Ball and TAPS multiphoton spectrometers in the energy range from the production threshold of 707 MeV to 1.4 GeV (1.49 =< W >= 1.87 GeV). Bremsstrahlung photons produced by the 1.5-GeV electron beam of the Mainz Microtron MAMI-C and momentum analyzed by the Glasgow Tagging Spectrometer were used for the eta-meson production. Our accumulation of 3.8 x 10^6 gp-->etap-->3pi0p-->6gp events allows a detailed study of the reaction dynamics. The gp-->etap differential cross sections were determined for 120 energy bins and the full range of the production angles. Our data show a dip near W = 1680 MeV in the total cross section caused by a substantial dip in eta production at forward angles. The data are compared to predictions of previous SAID and MAID partial-wave analyses and to thelatest SAID and MAID fits that have included our data.
