We have studied photoproduction using a 1 m streamer chamber at DESY and a tagged photon beam with an energy range of 1.6 GeV < E γ < 6.3 GeV. We analysed approximately 30 000 events and report topological, channel and resonance production cross sections for a large number of reactions with three and five outgoing charged particles.

Measurements of the cross section for the reaction p+p→π0+anything have been completed. The data cover a range of incident proton energies 50-400 GeV, π0 transverse momenta 0.3-4 GeV/c, and laboratory angles 30-275 mrad. The experiment was performed using the internal proton beam at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. A lead-glass counter was used to detect photons from the decay of π0's produced by collisions in thin targets of hydrogen or carbon. Tables of the measured cross sections are presented.

An analysis has been made of 64 600 events of the type K−p→K−p and 22 800 events of the type K−p→K¯0n in the Berkeley 25-in. hydrogen bubble chamber. Differential cross sections have been measured in intervals of 10 MeV/c over the momentum range 220 to 470 MeV/c. Legendre-polynomial fits to the distributions have been made, and the coefficients show structure from the resonant D-wave [Λ(1520)] and background S and P waves. No new structure is observed. The total K−p cross section determined from measurements of all final states seen in this exposure is also presented.

Data on correlations between momentum analysed protons, pions or K mesons, and charged particles produced in pp collisions at the CERN ISR are presented. The charged particles were detected in a ∼4 π scintillation counter hodoscope. The pseudo-rapidity distributions are well described by production within the limits of cylindrical phase space, with negative kaons and antiprotons yielding narrower distributions than protons, pions and positive kaons. The azimuthal distributions show symmetry around the t -channel axis in the rest frame of the recoiling mass M x in pp → aX (a = detected proton, pion, positive kaon).

The fragmentation of the neutron into p π − induced by incident K + of 8.25 GeV/ c is studied using data from the CERN 2 m deuterium bubble chamber and compared with data at 4.6 and 12 GeV/ c . The p π − low-mass enhancement below 1.85 GeV is analyzed and the major part exhibits the properties expected for diffraction dissociation. The presence of resonances is discussed. The data are fairly well represented by a double Regge exchange model involving pion and pomeron exchanges. The violation of the s -channel and t -channel helicity conservation is observed and compared to the s -channel description of Humble.
INTERCEPT AND SLOPE OF DIFFERENTIAL CROSS SECTION FOR -TP < 0.24 (0.48 FOR N1700) GEV**2.
We report results from a study of π−p→ω0n at 6.0 GeV/c based on 28 000 events from a charged and neutral spectrometer. Background under the ω0 is only 7%, a large improvement over deuterium-bubble-chamber work. Density matrix elements, projected cross sections, and effective trajectories for natural and unnatural exchanges are presented.

A 7.5 GeV linearly polarized photon beam was used to study ϱ 0 production on d, n and p in the SLAC 82 inch bubble chamber. The production of ϱ 0 is found to proceed mainly via t -channel natural parity exchange and to conserve s -channel c.m.s. helicity for small t . The I = 1 contribution to the γ N → ϱ 0 t -channel amplitude is found to be small at 7.5 GeV.

THE FOURTH REACTION IS THE SUM OF THE FIRST THREE, NAMELY THE CLOSURE DIFFERENTIAL CROSS SECTION.
DIPION EVENTS IN THE RHO0 MASS REGION (600 TO 880 MEV).
We have measured the differential cross section for π−p→η0n at 6.0 GeV/c from 6730 very clean events in which the decay η→π+π−π0 was detected. The high statistics reveals a sizable forward turnover, implying a dominance of the helicity-flip amplitude. A precisely determined A2 trajectory, linear for |t|<1.0 (GeV/c)2, is found from combining our data with those at energies up to 101 GeV.
THE RESOLUTION IN TP IS EVERYWHERE SMALLER THAN THE BIN WIDTH.
We present the results of a formation experiment for the reactions K±p→Σ±π± in the c.m.s. energy between 2200 and 2436 MeV with a total statistics of 10 ev/μb. A partial-wave analysis including these new data gives evidence for the existence of three resonances in theD15,G19 andH09 states and confirms the existence of anF05 state.
