Production of $\rho^+$, $\rho^-$, $\rho^0$ (770), $\eta$ (550), $\omega(783)$ and F2 (1270) Mesons in Anti-nucleon Neon and Neutrino Neon Charged Current Interactions

The production of the meson resonances ϱ(770) (all three charge states), η(550), ω(783) andf2(1270) in$\bar v$ Ne and ν Ne charged current interactions is investigated in a bubble chamber experiment with BEBC at CERN. Except for thef2, the main features of resonance production are reasonably well described by the Lund model, although the average resonance multiplicities are overestimated by the model by (67±30)%. The average multiplicities of all resonances, including thef2, are well reproduced by a semiempirical model, whose parameters were determined from hadron interaction data.

Evidence for Iota (1460) Production in $\pi^- p$ Interactions at 21.4-{GeV}/$c$

The KS0KS0π0 system has been studied in the exclusive reaction π−p→KS0KS0π0n at 21.4 GeV/c. Evidence for the production of the f1(1285) and the η(1460) is presented. The η(1460) is produced away from minimum momentum transfer in the presence of nonresonant K*K (S-wave) production and phase-space background. The observed mass, width, and decay properties of the η(1460) are consistent with those attributed to the ι(1460) observed in radiative Jψ decay.

Some Properties of Charmed Particles Produced in Nucleus Interactions

The azimuthal correlation distribution of 102 charmed-particle pairs observed in the hybrid emulsion experiment WA75 is compared with theoretical predictions. The various pairs - (D − D 0 ), (D − D + ), (D 0 D 0 ) and (D + D 0 )-all s how, within statistical error, the same azimuthal correlation distribution, demonstrating its independence from the specific nature of the production channel. Among the decays of 150 charged charmed particles and 138 neutral ones seen, higher multiplicities are favoured for hadronic as opposed to semileptonic decays. The data are consistent with the muonic decays of charged D mesons proceeding through the channels (μ ± , v, K 0 ) and [μ ± , v, K ∗0 (892)] , the fraction through K 0 being 0.76±0.06.
