High-statistics measurements of the absolute differential cross section for n−p scattering have been made over neutron c.m.-system scattering angles 9.5°<θ*<64.5°. The statistical error is 1.7 to 3.3% for 2°-wide angular bins, and the systematic error is 2.7 to 3.3%. The cross section is fitted by dσdΩ*=A exp(bt), with A=10.27±0.36 mb/sr, b=5.00±0.05, and 0.01<−t<0.39 (GeV/c)2. For the ratio of the real to the imaginary part of the forward-scattering amplitude we obtained αn>~−0.43±0.04, consistent with other less precise determinations of αn.
EXPONENTIAL FIT TO D(SIG)/DOMEGA OVER -T = 0.01 TO 0.39 GEV**2 (THETA = 9.5 TO 64.5 DEG).
The elastic scattering of 600-MeV protons from light nuclei has been studied at the National Aeronautics Space Administration Space Radiation Effects Laboratory (SREL) synchrocyclotron. Differential cross sections have been obtained for the scattering of protons from hydrogen, deuterium, helium-3, and helium-4. Polarization was measured for deuterium and He4 nuclei. The p−p cross-section data are in excellent agreement with the predictions from the Livermore phase shifts. Small-angle p−D, p−He3 elastic scattering data are compared with calculations based on the multiple-scattering theories of Watson and Glauber.

We present results of measurements on photoproduction of ρ mesons. Analysis of 106 measured ρ events in a four-dimensional data matrix dσ(A, m, p, t⊥)dΩdm with dimensions 14×20×10×20 yields precise information on nuclear density distributions for ρ production. We obtain for the Woods-Saxon radii R(A)=(1.12±0.02)A13 and, using the vector dominance model, σρN=26.7±2.0 mb and γρ24π=0.57±0.10.
