We have measured the differential cross section for π − p elastic scattering at eight incident momenta, 2.06, 2.26, 2.45, 2.65, 2.86, 3.05, 3.26 and 3.48 GeV/ c , in a wide range of c.m. scattering angle between 15° and 160°. A pronounced dip-bump structure has been found at large angles. Details of the structure are quantitatively described as functions of the incident momentum.

Measurement of the asymmetry for pi+ photoproduction from polarized protons between 300 and 900 mev

Nucl.Phys.B 48 (1972) 397-414, 1972.
Inspire Record 84444 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32778

The asymmetry of the cross section for π + photoproduction from a polarized butanol target has been measured at a c.m. angle 90° and photon energies between 300 and 900 MeV by a single-arm spectrometer detecting positive pions. Our results indicate that the asymmetry has clear positive peaks at photon energies 400 and 700 MeV with a deep valley at about 600 MeV. The general feature of the results is well reproduced by the phenomenological analyses made by Walker and ourselves; however, the best fit to the polarized target asymmetry data seems to give a somewhat different set of parameters from that given by Walker.

MEASUREMENT OF ANALYZING POWER IN FORWARD ANGLE FOR ELASTIC p d SCATTERING AT 3.5-GeV

Ohmori, C. ; Horikawa, N. ; Ishida, Y. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 230 (1989) 27-30, 1989.
Inspire Record 277083 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.29770

The analyzing power for elastic pd scattering at 3.5 GeV has been measured in the region 0.1⩽−t⩽1.5 (GeV/ c ) 2 , using the polarized proton beam at KEK. The angular distribution shows a behavior similar to that in the lower energy region. It is reproduced fairly well by the predictions of a multiple scattering model based on the Glauber theory.

Analyzing powers have been measured for the quasi-elastic ( p → , 2p ) scattering in carbon and copper using a KEK 3.5 GeV polarized proton beam. The present result shows relatively larger analyzing powers compared with the ones obtained for carbon in the energy region 0.52–2.8 GeV at Saclay (Saturne). The t -dependence for C and Cu ( p → , 2p ) is compared with a calculation based on the relativistic impulse approximation and is reproduced well.

Study of omega pi0 system in the pi- p charge exchange reaction at 8.95-GeV/c

Fukui, S. ; Horikawa, N. ; Inaba, S. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 257 (1991) 241-246, 1991.
Inspire Record 301817 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.29465

An experimental study was made of a ωπ 0 system produced in the charge exchange reaction π − p→ ωπ 0 n at 8.95 GeV/ c . The moment analysis was performed to study the spin-parity of the system in the mass region between 1.04 and 1.88 GeV. A clear peak of b 1 (1235) was observed in the J PC = 1 +− wave. No significant structure was seen in the 1 −− wave. An upper limit is obtained to be at most 1.9 μb for σ ( π − p→X 0 n)Br(X 0 → ωπ 0 ) for X 0 with a width of 130 MeV at 1480 MeV, where C(1480) meson with J PC = 1 −− has been reported in a φπ 0 decay mode.

Vector Resonances Around 1.6-{GeV} of the $\eta \pi^+ \pi^-$ System in the $\pi^- p$ Charge Exchange Reaction at 8.95-{GeV}/$c$

Inspire Record 261402 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.29989

High statistics data of the ηππ system in π − p → ηπ + π − n were obtained. A partial wave analysis was performed in the mass region between 1.37 and 1.85 GeV. Resonant structures were observed in the IJ PC = 11 −− wave around 1.6 GeV and in 13 −− around 1.7 GeV. The structure in 11 −− was fitted with a single Breit-Wigner and also fitted with two Breit-Wigner's. The result suggests the possible existence of two vector resonances around 1.6 GeV. The structure in 13 −− is considered to be the π 3 (1690).

We have observed $23.2 \pm 6.0_{-0.9}^{+1.0}$ purely-leptonic decays of $D_s^+ -> \mu^+ \nu_\mu$ from a sample of muonic one prong decay events detected in the emulsion target of Fermilab experiment E653. Using the $D_s^+ -> \phi \mu^+ \nu_\mu$ yield measured previously in this experiment, we obtain $B(D_s^+ --> \mu^+ \nu_\mu) / B(D_s^+ --> \phi \mu^+ \nu_\mu) =0.16 \pm 0.06 \pm 0.03$. In addition, we extract the decay constant $f_{D_s}=194 \pm 35 \pm 20 \pm 14 MeV$.

Phys.Lett.B 314 (1993) 246-254, 1993.
Inspire Record 363785 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28847

Data of the ηπ − system were obtained in the reaction π − p → ηπ − p at 6.3 GeV/ c beam momentum. About 17 k events of ηπ − were collected in the mass range 0.8 ⩽ M ηπ - ⩽ 1.8 GeV/ c 2 and in the range of the momentum transfer squared 0.075 ⩽ | t ′| ⩽ 0.60 (GeV/ c ) 2 . A large forward-backward asymmetry was observed around 1.3 GeV/ c 2 in the Gottfried-Jackson frame of the ηπ − system. A partial wave analysis of the data was performed. A peak of the D + wave attributed to a 2 (1320) is clearly seen. An enhancement is observed around 1.3 GeV/ c 2 in the P + wave.

Measurement of cross-section for gamma gamma ---> p anti-p

The CLEO collaboration Artuso, M. ; He, D. ; Goldberg, M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 50 (1994) 5484-5490, 1994.
Inspire Record 358510 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47137

A measurement of the cross section for γγ→pp¯ is performed at two-photon center-of-mass energies between 2.00 and 3.25 GeV. These results are obtained using e+e−→e+e−pp¯ events selected from 1.31 fb−1 of data taken with the CLEO II detector. The measured cross section is in reasonable agreement with previous measurements and is in excellent agreement with recent calculations based on a diquark model. However, leading order QCD calculations performed using the Brodsky-Lepage formalism are well below the measured cross section.

Using the CLEO-II detector at CESR, we have observed the D s 1 (2536) + in the decay modes D s1 + →D ∗0 K + and D ∗+ K S + , and measured its fragmentation and production ratios. Using the helicity angle distribution of the daugter D ∗0 , we obtain new evidence for the assignment of 1 + for the spin and parity of the D s 1 + . We also set upper limits on the decays D s1 + →D s ∗+ λ, D 0 K + and D + K s 0 .
