The measurements of Rb = sigma(e+e- -> bb~)/sigma(e+e- -> qq~) and of the b quark forward-backward charge asymmetry, A^b_fb, at centre-of-mass energies above the Z pole are described. The measurement of Rb is performed at \root{s} between 130 and 189 GeV using a b-tagging method that exploits the relatively large decay length of b-hadrons. The measurement of A^b_fb is performed using the large statistics event sample collected at \root{s}=189 GeV with a lepton-tag analysis based on the selection of prompt muons and electrons. The results at \root{s}=189 GeV are: Rb = 0.163 +/- 0.013 (stat.) +/- 0.005 (syst.), A^b_fb = 0.61 +/- 0.18 (stat.) +/- 0.09 (syst.).

The total and differential cross sections of the process e+e- -> n gamma with n >= 2 are measured using data collected by the L3 experiment at centre-of-mass energies of \sqrt{s}=183 and 189 GeV. The results are in agreement with the Standard Model expectations. Limits are set on deviations from QED, contact interaction cut-off parameters and masses of excited electrons.
Measured cross section.
Measured differential cross sections corrected for efficiency and additional photons as a function of cos(theta) where theta is the polar angle of the event defined as. cos(theta)=ABS((sin(theta1-theta2)/2)/(sin(theta1+theta2)/2)).
We search for a Higgs particle with anomalous couplings in the e+e- -> H gamma, e+e- -> HZ and e+e- -> He+e- processes with the L3 detector at LEP. We explore the mass range 70GeV < m_H < 170GeV using 176pb^-1 of integrated luminosity at a center-of-mass energy of \sqrt{s} = 189GeV. The Higgs decays H -> bb, H -> gamma gamma and H -> Z gamma are considered in the analysis. No evidence for anomalous Higgs production is found. This is interpreted in terms of limits on the anomalous couplings d, d_B, Delta g_1^Z and Delta kappa_gamma. Limits on the Gamma(H -> gamma gamma) and Gamma(H -> Z gamma) partial widths in the explored Higgs mass range are also obtained.

We search for anomalous trilinear gauge couplings in the ZZgamma and Zgammagamma vertices using data collected with the L3 detector at LEP at a centre-of-mass energy \sqrt{s}=189 GeV. No evidence is found and limits on these couplings and on new physics scales are derived from the analysis of the process e+e- -> Zgamma.

The production of $J/\psi$ pairs in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV has been observed using an integrated luminosity of $37.5 pb^{-1}$ collected with the LHCb detector. The production cross-section for pairs with both \jpsi in the rapidity range $2<y^{J/\psi}<4.5$ and transverse momentum $p_{T}^{J/\psi}<10 GeV/c$ is $$ \sigma^{J/\psi J/\psi} = 5.1\pm1.0\pm1.1 nb,$$ where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.
Total production cross section for J/PSI pairs.
Differential production cross section for J/PSI pairs as a function of the invariant mass of the J/PSI-J/PSI system. Data read from plot with statistical errors only.
We report results of the first search for the pentaquark P_{{c bar}s} which is predicted to be a doublet of states: P^0_{{c bar}s}=({c bar} s u u d) and P^-_{{c bar}s}=({c bar} s d d u). A search was made for the decay P^0_{{c bar}s} --> phi,pi,p in data from Fermilab experiment E791, in which 500 GeV/c pi^- beam interacted with nuclear targets. We present upper limits at 90% confidence level for the ratio of cross section times branching fraction of this decay to that for the decay D_s --> phi,pi. The upper limits are 0.031 and 0.063 for M(P^0_{{c bar}s}) = 2.75 and 2.86 GeV/c^2, respectively, assuming a P^0_{{c bar}s} lifetime of 0.4 ps.
The two-photon collision reaction e + e − → e + e − l + l − has been studied at 2 ≈91 GeV using the L3 detector at LEP for l = e, μ , τ . We have analysed untagged configurations where the two photons are quasi-real. Good agreement is found between our measurements and the O (α 4 ) QED expectation.

The cross section values are corrected for the branching ratios of the decay channels : 6.36 PCT for EMU and 18.3 PCT for LPI channels, respectively.
A search for the neutral Higgs boson in the processes e + e − → Z → H 0 γ → q q γ and e + e − → Z → Z ∗ H 0 → q q γγ has been performed using 2.8 million hadronic Z decays collected with the L3 detector at LEP from 1991 through 1994. No evidence for these processes has been observed. Upper limits at 95% confidence level for the corresponding cross sections have been set and the results have been compared with theoretical predictions beyond the Standard Model.
The magnitude of the cross section is multiplied on the branching ratio.
The inclusive production of η mesons has been studied using 1.6 million hadronic Z decays collected with the L3 detector. The η multiplicity per event, the multiplicity for two-jet and three-jet events separately, and the multiplicity in each jet have been measured and compared with the predictions of different Monte Carlo programs. The momentum spectra of η in each jet have also been measured. We observe that the measured η momentum spectrum in quark-enriched jets agrees well with the Monte Carlo prediction while in gluon-enriched jets it is harder than that predicted by the Monte Carlo models.
