Inclusive and semi-inclusive distributions of γ's and π 0 's in the reactions K + p → γ + X and K + p → π 0 + X at 32 GeV/ c are presented and discussed. When compared to the inclusive π − production, the π 0 cross section is found to be significantly higher in low | x | and p T regions. The data are compared with other experiments and quark fusion model predictions.

Inclusive production of ifπ ± , K ± and p has been studied near charm threshold for c.m. energies between 3.6 and 5.2 GeV. Differential and scaling cross sections together with particle multiplicities have been determinated. By comparing data below and above charm threshold the charm contribution to if π ± and K ± production has been extracted. A comparison has been made between inclusice p production and inelastic electron-proton scattering. To study differences between three-gluon annihilation and two-quark production of the spectra from J/ decay and from non-resonant production at 3.6 GeV has been compared.

Inclusive production of Δ ++ (1232) with >| t p, Δ ++>|<0.6 (GeV/ c ) 2 is studied in 32 GeV/ c K + p interactions. A systematic comparison with the reaction K + p→pX for >| t p,p>| < 0.6 (GeV/ c ) 2 is made. The production properties of the Δ ++ (1232), of associated π + , π − and K 0 production and of the recoiling system X 0 are investigated in detail. The polarization of the Δ ++ and the energy dependence of the total K + π − cross sections, determined by a Chew-Low extrapolation, are presented and discussed.

Total and semi-inclusive cross sections, longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions and spin density matrix elements of theK*+(892) andK*0(892) produced in the inclusive reactionsK+p→K*+(892)+X andK+p→K*0(892)+X at 32 GeV/c are studied in detail. Inclusive ϱ 0 and φ production is investigated in K + p interactions at 32 GeV/ c . Total and semi-inclusive ϱ 0 and φ cross sections, longitudinal and transverse momentum distributions, including 〈 P T versus x dependence are presented. No evidence for a sea-gull effect is observed. Comparison with quark models strongly suggests the possibility that a large fraction of the ϱ 0 and vector mesons are produced as fragmentation products of the incident particles. Study of uncorrelated π + π − pairs in the ϱ 0 mass range provides possible indirect evidence for the existence of diquarks in the proton.

The inclusiveKn, ¶,and\(\bar \Lambda\) production has been studied in a\(\bar pp\) experiment performed in the Mirabelle bubble chamber at an incident beam momentum of 32.1 GeV/c. Total, topological and differential cross sections are presented and compared with those obtained at other energies. The invariant structure functions have been parametrised in the fragmentation region by a power law and are consistent with the expectations based on quark counting rules.

Results on inclusive K s 0 production in e + e − annihilation at mean center-of-mass energies of 9.4, 12.0 and 30 GeV are presented. The ratio R (K 0 ) = 2 σ (K s 0 )/ σ μμ rises from 3.10 ± 0.75 at √ s = 9.4 GeV to 5.6 ± 1.2 at √ s = 30 GeV, corresponding to an approximately constant K 0 /charged-particle ratio of 0.12 ± 0.02. A similar ratio for K 0 / charged particle is observed for direct hadronic decays of the ϒ.

New experimental results are presented on inclusive production properties of\(\bar \Sigma ^{ *+ } \)(1385) and\(\bar \Sigma ^{ *+ } \)(1385) inK+p interactions at 32 GeV/c. The analysis is based on significantly larger statistics than previously available. A comparison is also made of invariantx-distributions ofK0/\(\bar K^0 \),\(\bar \Lambda \) and\(\bar \Xi ^ +\) and of\(\bar \Sigma ^{ *\pm } \)(1385) andK*+(892). These spectra exhibit regularities expected from the quark-recombination picture when it is assumed that the strange mesons and antibaryons are produced off the strange\(\bar s\)-valence-quark in the incidentK+ meson. Transverse momentum distributions are also presented forK*+(892) and\(\bar \Sigma ^{ *\pm } \)(1385) and found to be very similar. The results on strange antibaryon average multiplicities disagree strongly with a recent version of the additive quark model.
