Elastic ω-meson photoproduction on protons has been measured from 46 to 180 GeV. The cross section is approximately constant with photon energy and averages 1.10 ± 0.08 μb. The t dependence of the differential cross section is consistent with A exp(bt), where b=8.4±0.7 GeV−2. The photon-omega coupling constant, obtained from a normalization of hadron elastic-scattering cross sections to the photoproduction data of this experiment (with use of vector-meson dominance and an additive quark model), is γω24π=5.4±0.4.

Measurements of Elastic Rho and Phi Meson Photoproduction Cross-Sections on Protons from 30 GeV to 180 GeV

Egloff, R.M. ; Davis, P.J. ; Luste, G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 43 (1979) 657, 1979.
Inspire Record 141059 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20740

The elastic photoproduction cross sections for ρ and ϕ mesons from protons have been measured from 30 to 180 GeV. The energy dependences agree well with predictions made by using vector-meson dominance and an additive quark model. The ρ cross section is approximately constant with energy while the ϕ cross section rises from 0.5 to 0.7 μb with increasing energy.

First results from the magnetic detector PLUTO at the new e + e − storage ring PETRA are shown. The ratio R of the cross section for hadron production to that for μ-pair production has been measured to be R = 5.0 ± 0.5 at 13 GeV and 4.3 ±0.5 at 17 GeV. Both values have an additional systematic error of 20%. The events show a typical 2-jet structure. The mean transverse momentum approaches a constant value with increasing energy implying a shrinkage of the jet opening angle.

The differential cross section has been measured at 30, 50, 80, 100, 120 and 140 GeV/ c for 0.002 < | t | < 0.04 ( GeV / c ) 2 . The results show that the π − p real part goes from negative to positive values below 80 GeV/ c . The slope parameter in the t -region measured is significantly higher than what has been found − t = 0.2 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

Measurements of the Photon Total Cross-Section on Protons from 18-GeV to 185-GeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 40 (1978) 1222, 1978.
Inspire Record 129172 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.3355

The photon total cross section on protons has been measured with high precision in the Fermilab tagged-photon beam for photon energies from 18 to 185 GeV. The cross section decreases to a broad minimum near 40 GeV, and then rises by about 4 μb over the remainder of the range. A ρ+ω+ϕ vector-dominance model (normalized to low-energy data) falls below the high-energy results by 2 to 6 μb, suggesting a contribution from charm-anticharm states.

We have measured the production cross section for K s 0 in e + e − annihilation from 3.6 to 5.0 GeV center of mass energy. A substantial increase of the K s 0 yield is observed around 4 GeV in qualitative agreement with the charm hypothesis.

Cross-Sections and Charged Particle Multiplicities in pi+ p and p p Collisions at 60-GeV/c

Phys.Rev.D 15 (1977) 64, 1977.
Inspire Record 108488 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.24538

We have measured charged-particle multiplicities and elastic and inelastic cross sections for π+p and pp interactions at 60 GeV/c. The data are from a 30 000-picture exposure of the 30-inch bubble chamber to a tagged but unseparated positive-particle beam at Fermilab. The low-order moments of the inelastic multiplicity distributions for all charged particles are 〈n〉 = 5.60±0.09, f2 = 0.96±0.31, and 〈n〉D = 2.19±0.06 for pp reactions and 〈n〉6.23±0.10, f2 = 1.63±0.37, and 〈n〉D = 2.22±0.06 for π+p collisions.

Measurement of J/$\psi$ (3100) Photoproduction in Deuterium at 55-GeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 1233, 1976.
Inspire Record 108460 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.12555

We report the result of a brief experiment to measure the cross section for photoproduction of Jψ(3100). At a mean energy of 55 GeV we find this cross section per nucleon to be 37.5 ± 8.2 (statistical) ± 4 (systematic) nb. The result establishes the previously indicated rise in Jψ photoproduction on protons above 20 GeV and suggests that the rise has occurred by 55 GeV.

The cross sections is fitted in the framework of the triple Regge model. The symbols P and R in the (C=...) denote pomeron and reggeon, respectively. For fit I and II the authors used conventional trajectories alpha(P) = 1 +0.25*T, alpha(R) = 0.5 + T. Fit II is restricted to data with (1 - M(P=4)**2/S) > 0.84. In fit III they use alpha(R) = 0.2 + T for the RRP term. Fit IV is like fit I with additional fixed (pion pion P) term.

The cross sections is fitted in the farmework of the triple Regge model. The symbols P and R in teh (C=...) denote pomeron and reggeon, respectively. CONST(C=C) and SLOPE are from the replacement of the RRP term by the exponential one : CONST(C=C)*(SLOPE*(1-x)). See text for detail.
