We have investigated the inclusive production of γ, KS0, Λ0, and Λ¯0 in 100-GeV/c p¯p interactions in the 30-in. hydrogen bubble chamber at Fermilab. We present various inclusive distributions and compare them with corresponding distributions in 100-GeV/c pp interactions and lower-energy p¯p interactions. We find some evidence for Σ(1385) production but none for K*(890) production. We find evidence for a nonzero Λ0 polarization of -0.45 ± 0.21.

In a high statistics bubble chamber study the reaction K − p → φφΛ is detected with a cross section of 0.7±0.2 μ b. The ratio of φφ production in K − and π − induced reactions is found to be ∼5; this is about ten times smaller than the ratio for the corresponding single φ production reactions.

Final state resonance production and single particle momentum spectra are presented for p p annihilations into K K and π's between 1.09 and 3.45 GeV/ c . Resonance production generally agrees with the Lamb statistical model. Momentum spectra of K's and π's are independent of incident energy, while the mean multiplicity increases in proportion to the c.m. energy, supporting the annihilation model of Jacob and Nussinov.

The inclusive and semi-inclusive cross sections for K*±(890) and Σ±(1385) resonances are determined in p¯p interactions at 14.75 GeV/c. They account for a large fraction of the KS0 and Λ0 produced. The K*-resonance production also affects the low-pT2 distribution of inclusive KS0. The x distributions of the resonance production are studied in terms of a simple quark-recombination model.

We derive cross-sections for the inclusive productiion in p̄p interactions at 100 GeV /c of π 0 , K S 0 and Λ 0 Λ 0 of 91.5±5.7 mb, 5.2±0.4 mb and 4.8±0.4 mb respectively, which are all higher than pp cross-sections at energy. We find indications that these differences can be attributed to “annihilation” processes.

Backward production of ω (1670) is observed in the reactions K − p→ φ + φ − ω 0 Λ 0 and K − p→ φ + φ − φ 0 φ 0 for | U ' Λ |<1.0 GeV 2 . The cross section for the ω (1670) → φ + φ − ω 0 decay mode is 1.90±0.35 μ b for 8.25 GeV/ c incident K − . Evidence is presented for the importance of the sequential decay, ω (1670) → B φ → ωφφ with a branching ratio ω (1670) → B φ /all ω (1670) → ωφφ =1.0± 0.25 0.00 .

Results are presented from an experiment at the SLAC 40″ hybrid facility (SHF) using an 8.8 GeV/ c antiproton beam. Using external detectors and an on-line trigger, a sample of events enriched in p p annihilations was obtained. pp interactions taken under the same conditions enabled the annihilations to be identified. Cross sections and distributions for the inclusive production of K s 0 and K ∗± (890), and cross sections for exclusive channels with a pair of strange particles are presented.

We present results for the hypercharge exchange reaction K − p→f' λ from a high statistics experiment at 8.25 GeV/ c using the CERN 2m HBC. The total and differential cross sections have been measured; the polarisation of the Λ hyperon and the f' density matrix elements have been calculated as functions of momentum transfer. We also present detailed information on the relative strength of the natural and unnatural parity exchange contributions to the production mechanism.

The production ofK* resonances has been studied in the reaction$K^ -p \to \bar K^0 \pi ^ -p$ at 8.25 GeV/c. The data comes from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment (180 events/μb). Masses, widths and production cross-sections have been determined for the first threeK*'s. The contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchange have been obtained for theK*(890) and theK*(1420). A partial wave analysis of theK π system from threshold to 1.9 GeV provides evidence for a 0+ enhancement near 1.4 GeV which could be interpreted as the κ(1350).
