This Letter presents an investigation of low-energy electron-neutrino interactions in the Fermilab Booster Neutrino Beam by the MicroBooNE experiment, motivated by the excess of electron-neutrino-like events observed by the MiniBooNE experiment. This is the first measurement to use data from all five years of operation of the MicroBooNE experiment, corresponding to an exposure of $1.11\times 10^{21}$ protons on target, a $70\%$ increase on past results. Two samples of electron neutrino interactions without visible pions are used, one with visible protons and one without any visible protons. The MicroBooNE data show reasonable agreement with the nominal prediction, with $p$-values $\ge 26.7\%$ when the two $ν_e$ samples are combined, though the prediction exceeds the data in limited regions of phase space. The data is further compared to two empirical models that modify the predicted rate of electron-neutrino interactions in different variables in the simulation to match the unfolded MiniBooNE low energy excess. In the first model, this unfolding is performed as a function of electron neutrino energy, while the second model aims to match the observed shower energy and angle distributions of the MiniBooNE excess. This measurement excludes an electron-like interpretation of the MiniBooNE excess based on these models at $> 99\%$ CL$_\mathrm{s}$ in all kinematic variables.

Anti-proton-deuteron elastic scattering between 1.60 and 2.00 gev/c

Phys.Rev.Lett. 27 (1971) 344-347, 1971.
Inspire Record 68950 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.3515

We have studied antiproton-deuteron elastic scattering between 1.60 and 2.00 GeV/c incident momenta. The differential cross sections may be characterized by a very steep forward peak (with b∼43 GeV−2) and a prominent break near −t∼0.2 GeV2. The results are used to test the validity of Glauber's multiple-scattering theory. Within the experimental range of measurements (−t between 0.028 and 0.46 GeV2), the theory provides a good qualitative description of the data.

A systematic study of p p and p d reactions producing strange particles between 1.09 and 3.45 GeV/ c has been completed. Reaction and resonance cross-section data are presented at 11 p p and 13 p d momentum settings. Evidence for a broad shoulder in the K K 3π final state near 1.8 GeV/ c is presented and contrasted to previously published work on a portion of the final data sample. No evidence for a p n → K 0 K − ω effect near 1.3 GeV/ c is found, ruling out an association of K K ω effects with the nearby isospin one enhancement in the total cross section. Finally, we find no evidence for a p p → K K ω enhancement near 1.8 GeV/ c .

GENERAL FEATURES OF CHARGED PARTICLE PRODUCTION IN ANTI-P P INTERACTIONS AT 100-GEV/C

We present new data on charged particle production in p p interactions at 100 GeV/ c . Comparisons are made between p p annihilations (estimated by differences) between corresponding p p and pp data samples) and e + e − annihilation into hadrons. A technique for separating the inclusive proton and pion spectra is described and the resulting pion spectra are studied in terms of Feynman x , rapidity and p T . Comparison with pp data allows us to estimate the pion spectra in p p annihilations and we find agreement with predictions of Mueller-Regge theory. We also present results on semi-inclusive π ± and proton production, give updated topological cross sections and describe further attempts to isolate effects due to annihilations. Finally we investigate the diffractive excitation of the antiproton into low-mass states by studying events with a slow recoil proton.

DELTA++ AND ANTI-DELTA++ PRODUCTION IN 100-GEV/C ANTI-P P INTERACTIONS.

We present results on inclusive Δ ++ (1236) production in 100 GeV/ c p p interactions. In the region | t | < 1 GeV 2 we find a cross section of 1.29 ± 0.15 mb. Comparisons with pp interactions at high energies show Δ ++ production in pp and p p interactions to be very similar. The decay angular distributions of the Δ ++ are consistent with production predominantly through pion-exchange and the properties of the system recoiling from the Δ ++ are similar to those of real π + p interactions. However, the p π + background is found to show qualitatively similar behaviour. In contrast to the indications of Δ ++ production through pion exchange we also find evidence that events proceeding through diffraction dissociation are more likely to contain Δ ++ than other events. We present results on the forward production of Δ ++ in association with Δ ++ and protons.

STRANGE PARTICLE PRODUCTION IN ANTI-P P ANNIHILATIONS AT 8.8-GEV/C

Nucl.Phys.B 227 (1983) 387, 1983.
Inspire Record 196402 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33929

Results are presented from an experiment at the SLAC 40″ hybrid facility (SHF) using an 8.8 GeV/ c antiproton beam. Using external detectors and an on-line trigger, a sample of events enriched in p p annihilations was obtained. pp interactions taken under the same conditions enabled the annihilations to be identified. Cross sections and distributions for the inclusive production of K s 0 and K ∗± (890), and cross sections for exclusive channels with a pair of strange particles are presented.

A partial-wave analysis of the K 0 π + π − system from the reaction K − p → K 0 π + π − n has been carried out using data obtained at 8.25 GeV/ c in a high-statistics experiment. A strong signal appears in the 1 + SO + (K ∗ π) wave at the Q 2 mass (≈ 1.4 GeV). The 1 + S0 + (ϱK) wave behaves rather like a background and does not exhibit the characteristics of a resonance. A prominent signal also appears in the 2 + D wave (via K ∗ π and ϱK); it is interpreted as the K ∗ (1430). In the L region (1.6–2.1) GeV, there is evidence for the 3 − K ∗ (1780) while the 2 − wave also gives some contribution.

We present results from a high statistics (46 events/μ;b) experiment on K − p interactions in the Argonne 12 foot bubble chamber. In particular we make a systematic search for Ξ ∗ resonances. We confirm recent evidence of a Ξ(2370), and see a number of other well established states. We also give cross sections for various exclusive and inclusive reactions, including those in which θ − are produced.

We present results for the hypercharge exchange reaction K − p→f' λ from a high statistics experiment at 8.25 GeV/ c using the CERN 2m HBC. The total and differential cross sections have been measured; the polarisation of the Λ hyperon and the f' density matrix elements have been calculated as functions of momentum transfer. We also present detailed information on the relative strength of the natural and unnatural parity exchange contributions to the production mechanism.
