The production of $K^*+(892)$, $K^{*0}+(892)$, $\rho^{0}(770)$ and $\omega(783)$ vector mesons in $q\bar{q}$ events as well as in the gluonic $\Upsilon(1S)$ decays and $\Upsilon(4S) \to B\bar{B}$ decays has been studied using the ARGUS detector. Combining these results with data on pseudoscalar meson, $\phi$ meson and baryon production collected with the same detector allow comprehensive studies of quark and gluon fragmentation. Model independent information on $s$ quark and vector meson suppression $(s/u = 0.37 \pm 0.04, V/(V+P)_{\pi} = 0.21 \pm 0.04$ and $V/( V+ P)_K = 0.34 \pm 0.03))$ are derived. The data are compared with predictions from the models Jetset 7.3 and UCLA 7.31.
Vector meson multiplicities in the continuum region (sqrt(s) = 10.45 GeV). Data is also given for production of the pseudoscalar phi meson.
Vector meson multiplicities from Direct UPSI(1S) decays. Data is also givenfor production of the pseudoscalar phi meson.
Vector meson multiplicities from Direct UPSI(4S) decays. Data is also givenfor production of the pseudoscalar phi meson.
Results are presented on the charge exchange reaction\(\bar pp \to \bar nn\) and\(\bar np\) annihilations from bubble chamber exposures to antiproton beam of momenta 700 and 760 MeV/c. The differential cross section of\(\bar pp \to \bar nn\) shows a forward spike followed by a clear dip bump structure. Total annihilation cross section of\(\bar np\) for average\(\bar n\) momentum of 700 MeV/c has been evaluated to be 55.4±2.2 mb. The multiplicity, Feynmanx andpT2 distributions for inclusive charged pions in\(\bar pp\) and\(\bar np\) annihilations are found to be similar. The emission of charged pions from\(\bar np\) annihilations are found to be consistent with thermodynamic models with temperature ∼110 MeV.

CROSS SECTION EXCLUDES ANY CONTRIBUTION FROM TWO-BODY FINAL STATES (PI+ PI- AND K+ K-).
CHARGED AND NEUTRAL MULTIPLICITIES.
We report experimental results on the cross section for the reaction e + e − → hadrons as a function of the total c.m. energy in the range W = 1.42–3.09 GeV. The results, combined with those already existing below the charm threshold, clearly indicate a structure for R ( W ) = α ( e + e − → hadrons)/ α ( e + e − → μ + μ − ) in that energy region.
THE ENERGY RANGES OF THE NEW DATA AND THE PREVIOUS (REVISED) DATA OVERLAP BETWEEN 1.9 AND 2.0 GEV. RADIATIVE CORRECTIONS HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO ALL DATA. THIS CROSS SECTION EXCLUDES TWO-BODY FINAL STATES.
