Muon-Deuterium Deep Inelastic Scattering

Inspire Record 1427 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21238

We have measured deep inelastic muon-deuteron scattering in the range 0.4<Q2<3.4 and 1.6<ν<5.6 GeV. We have extracted the neutron structure function and find that νW2n differs significantly from νW2p, as also found in e−d scattering. To compare μ−d and e−d scattering we form the ratio r(Q2)=(νW2)μd(νW2)ed=N(1+Q2Λ2)−2 and find N=0.925±0.038 and 1Λ2=−0.019±0.016.

Inclusive Cross-Sections for 180-Degree Production of High-Energy Protons, Deuterons, and Tritons in p-Nucleus Collisions at 600-MeV and 800-MeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 36 (1976) 642, 1976.
Inspire Record 100888 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21102

The inclusive cross sections, measured up to large values of effective mass (≡q22ν), are well fitted by dσd3p=Bxexp(−αxp22mx). Values of Bx and αx are given for Be, C, Cu, and Ta at the incident proton energy of 600 MeV and for Ag, Ta, and Pt at 800 MeV. Extremely large dp and tp ratios and large A and q2 dependences of the relative cross sections are observed.

COULOMB - NUCLEAR INTERFERENCE IN PROTON DEUTERIUM ELASTIC SCATTERING AT 600-MEV AND THE REAL PART OF P N SCATTERING AMPLITUDE

Gardes, J. ; Jargeaix, B. ; Lefort, A. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 61 (1981) 121-132, 1981.
Inspire Record 170137 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37549

The differential cross-sections for the elastic scattering of protons on deuterium have been measured at 600 MeV in the |t| range between 0.003 and 0.030 (GeV/c)2. The results are analysed by using the Bethe and Glauber formalisms taking into account spin effects in deuterium wave function and nucleon-nucleon amplitudes. The ratio between the real and the imaginary parts of the spin-independent protonneutron amplitude αpn deduced from dispersion calculations and phase shift analysis is compared with experimental results.

The Threshold Photoproduction of pi0 on Nucleons and on Few Nucleon Systems

Argan, P. ; Audit, G. ; Bloch, A. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 206 (1988) 4, 1988.
Inspire Record 251858 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.29971

The absolute value of the π 0 photoproduction cross section on the proton recently measured near threshold enables to reanalyze previous data collected on 2 H, 3 He, and 4 He relatively to the proton. Absolute cross sections are presented for these nuclei in the energy region extending up to 10 MeV above threshold. The threshold s-wave amplitudes for 2 H and 3 He thus obtained are discussed in relation with the neutron threshold amplitude E ( nπ 0 ) 0+ value.

K+ nucleus quasielastic scattering

Kormanyos, C.M. ; Peterson, R.J. ; Shepard, J.R. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 71 (1993) 2571-2574, 1993.
Inspire Record 356948 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.47080

K$~+$--nucleus quasielastic cross sections measured for a laboratory kaon beam momentum of 705 MeV/$c$ are presented for 3--momentum transfers of 300 and 500 MeV/$c$. The measured differential cross sections for C, Ca and Pb at 500 MeV/$c$ are used to deduce the effective number of nucleons participating in the scattering, which are compared with estimates based on the eikonal approximation. The long mean free path expected for K$~+$ mesons in nuclei is found. Double differential cross sections for C and Ca are compared to relativistic nuclear structure calculations.

A Large Solid Angle Study of Pion Absorption on He3

The LADS collaboration Alteholz, T. ; Androic, D. ; Backenstoss, G. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 73 (1994) 1336-1339, 1994.
Inspire Record 372679 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.19679

Measurements have been made of pi+ absorption on He3 at T_pi+ = 118, 162, and 239 MeV using the Large Acceptance Detector System (LADS). The nearly 4pi solid angle coverage of this detector minimizes uncertainties associated with extrapolations over unmeasured regions of phase space. The total absorption cross section is reported. In addition, the total cross section is divided into components in which only two or all three nucleons play a significant role in the process. These are the first direct measurements of the total and three nucleon absorption cross sections.
