In this letter the distribution of slow target associated particles emitted in Au + Emulsion interactions at 11.6 A GeV/ c is studied. The three models RQMD, FRITIOF and VENUS are used for comparisons and especially their treatment of rescattering is investigated.

The W+jet angular distribution is measured using W→eν events recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF) during the 1988-89 and 1992-93 Tevatron runs. The data agree well with both a leading order and a next-to-leading order theoretical prediction. The shape of the angular distribution is similar to that observed in photon + jet data and significantly different from that observed in dijet data.
Data normalized to 1 in the cos(theta) range -0.6 to 0.6.
Data normalized to 1 in the abs(cos(theta)) range <0.3.
We have measured the partial width and forward-backward charge asymmetry for the reaction e + e - →Z 0 →μ + μ - (γ). We obtain a partial width Γ μμ of 83.3±1.3(stat)±0.9(sys) MeV and the following values for the vector and axial vector couplings: g v =−0.062 −0.015 +0.020 and g A =−0.497 −0.005 +0.005 . From our measurement of the partial width and the mass of the Z 0 boson we determine the effective electroweak mixing angle, sin 2 θ w =0.232±0.005, and the neutral current coupling strength parameter, ϱ =0.998±0.016.

We present evidence for the non-Abelian nature of QCD from a study of multijet events produced in e+e− annihilations from √s =50 to 57 GeV in the AMY detector at the KEK storage ring TRISTAN. A comparison of the three-jet event fraction at TRISTAN to the fraction of the DESY storage ring PETRA shows that the QCD coupling strength αs decreases with increasing Q2. In addition, measurements of the angular distributions of four-jet events show evidence for the triple-gluon vertex.

The production of charmed D* mesons in e+e− annihilations at a center-of-mass energy of 29 GeV has been studied using the time-projection-chamber (TPC) detector at the SLAC storage ring PEP. The production cross section, fragmentation function, and forward-backward asymmetry due to electroweak effects are measured, and a limit on D0-D¯0 mixing is determined.

We use the reaction e+e−→μ+μ−, in the Mark J detector at the DESY high-energy e+e− collider PETRA, to test the standard electroweak theory and find good agreement. We also set limits on the parameters of several extended gauge theories.

The measurement of the nonelectromagnetic forward-backward charge asymmetry in the reaction e+e−→μ+μ− at s∼34.6 GeV and in the angular region 0<|cosθ|<0.8 is reported. With a systematic error less than 1%, we observe an asymmetry of (-8.1±2.1)%. This is in agreement with the standard electroweak theory prediction of (-7.6±0.6)%. The weak-current coupling constants are also reported.
