The K − p reactions leading to charge exchange and hyperon final states have been studied at nine momenta between 862 and 1001 MeV/ c using data from a 600 000 picture exposure of the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory 25″ liquid hydrogen bubble chamber. Partial cross sections are determined for all final states resolved by kinematic fitting. In addition, differential cross sections are presented for the two-body final states K o n , Λπ o and Σ +- π -+ along with hyperon polarization angular distributions for Λπ o and Σ + π − .

The results are presented of two partial-wave analyses of the (3π) − system in 30 000 events of the reaction π − p → π − π − π + p at 11.2 GeV/ c . Both techniques incorporate the assumptions of the isobar model and are (a) the University of Illinois program which fits in terms of the (3π) density matrix elements and (b) an amplitude parametrisaton including possible effects of both spin non-flip and spin flip at the baryon vertex. The results obtained with these independent programs are found to be very close.

Study of the reaction anti-p p ---> anti-Lambda Lambda at 1.546-GeV/c and 1.695-GeV/c

The PS185 experiment at the CERN Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) has studied the reaction p ̄ p → \ ̄ gLΛ at several momenta. In this paper results from two runs with high statistics at 1.546 GeV/ c and 1.695 GeV/ c are described. Based on 4063 and 11362 analysed events, respectively, differential and integrated cross sections, polarizations and spin correlations are presented. The singlet fraction, extracted from the spin correlations, is consistent with zero at both momenta, showing that the \ ̄ gLΛ pairs are produced in a pure triplet state. A comparison of the decay asymmetry parameters of Λ and \ ̄ gL reduces the upper limits for the violation of the CP invariance for this system.

The Reaction d (polarized) p ---> He-3 pi0 near threshold

Nikulin, V.N. ; Boudard, A. ; Clajus, M. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 54 (1996) 1732-1740, 1996.
Inspire Record 421018 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.25833

Angular distributions for the differential cross section and three deuteron analyzing powers iT11, T20, and T22 of the reaction d→p→3Heπ0 have been measured over the whole angular domain at 20 energies close to threshold (0.03<Tπc.m.<10.2 MeV). The differential cross section and tensor analyzing power T20 both show strong variation in energy and angle due to interference between S- and P-wave pion production, whereas iT11 and T22 remain consistent with zero over the whole experimental range. All the data at different energies and angles fall on universal curves when plotted as functions of the single variable pπcosΘ, evaluated in the c.m. The broad features of the results are in line with theoretical expectations. © 1996 The American Physical Society.

Inclusive measurements of the pion differential cross sections and analyzing powers have been carried out for the pp→pnπ+ reaction at 420 and 500 MeV using the SASP spectrometer at TRIUMF. Pion energies from the onset of the continuum down to about 25 MeV were covered in the angular range from 23° to 100° (lab). Total cross sections of 0.750±0.075 mb and 2.77±0.28 mb were determined for the pp→pnπ+ reaction at 420 and 500 MeV, respectively. The experimental results are presented and discussed within the framework of a partial wave analysis. Theoretical predictions from a covariant one-boson-exchange model that includes final state interactions, provide a good description of the data. The pion spectra, in the region corresponding to low relative np energies, are also well described by a final state interaction model that uses the pp→dπ+ cross sections as input. Details of the determination of the background corrections and detector efficiencies will be discussed.

Measurement of K- p --> eta Lambda near threshold

We present measurements of the differential and total cross sections and the Λ polarization for the reaction K−p→ηΛ from threshold to pK−=770MeV/c, with much better precision than previous measurements. Our cross-section data show a remarkable similarity to the SU(3) flavor-related π−p→ηn cross-section results. The reaction K−p→ηΛ at threshold is dominated by formation of the intermediate Λ(1670)12− state.

Measurement of gamma p --> K+ Lambda and gamma p --> K+ Sigma0 at photon energies up to 2.6 GeV

Inspire Record 626695 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.51677

The reactions gamma p --> K+ Lambda and gamma p --> K+ Sigma0 were measured in the energy range from threshold up to a photon energy of 2.6 GeV. The data were taken with the SAPHIR detector at the electron stretcher facility, ELSA. Results on cross sections and hyperon polarizations are presented as a function of kaon production angle and photon energy. The total cross section for Lambda production rises steeply with energy close to threshold, whereas the Sigma0 cross section rises slowly to a maximum at about E_gamma = 1.45 GeV. Cross sections together with their angular decompositions into Legendre polynomials suggest contributions from resonance production for both reactions. In general, the induced polarization of Lambda has negative values in the kaon forward direction and positive values in the backward direction. The magnitude varies with energy. The polarization of Sigma0 follows a similar angular and energy dependence as that of Lambda, but with opposite sign.

The reaction gamma p --> K0 Sigma+ was measured in the photon energy range from threshold up to 2.6 GeV with the SAPHIR detector at the electron stretcher facility, ELSA, in Bonn. Results are presented on the reaction cross section and the polarization of the Sigma+ as a function of the kaon production angle in the centre-of-mass system, cos(Theta_K^{c.m.}), and the photon energy. The cross section is lower and varies less with photon energy and kaon production angle than that of gamma p --> K+ Sigma0. The Sigma+ is polarized predominantly at cos(Theta_K^{c.m.}) \approx 0. The data presented here are more precise than previous ones obtained with SAPHIR and extend the photon energy range to higher values. They are compared to isobar model calculations.

Cross Section and Tensor Analysing Power of the $\vec{d}d\to \eta\alpha$ Reaction Near Threshold

The GEM collaboration Budzanowski, A. ; Chatterjee, A. ; Gebel, R. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.A 821 (2009) 193-209, 2009.
Inspire Record 803178 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.52401

The angular distributions of the unpolarised differential cross section and tensor analysing power $A_{xx}$ of the $\vec{d}d\to\alpha \eta$ reaction have been measured at an excess energy of 16.6 MeV. The ambiguities in the partial-wave description of these data are made explicit by using the invariant amplitude decomposition. This allows the magnitude of the s-wave amplitude to be extracted and compared with results published at lower energies. In this way, firmer bounds could be obtained on the scattering length of the $\eta \alpha$ system. The results do not, however, unambiguously prove the existence of a quasi-bound $\eta \alpha$ state.
