Topological cross sections and characteristics of charged particle multiplicity distributions for¯nn andnn interactions and¯nn annihilations at 6·1 GeV/c are presented. The results of a study of strange particle production in charged current $\bar{\nu}_{\mu} N$ interactions in the Fermilab 15 ft bubble chamber filled with a heavy $Ne-H_2$ mixture are presented. Production rates and average multiplicities of $K^0$'s and Λ's as functions of W 2 and Q 2 are given. The experimental data agree well with the quark-parton model predictions if a yield of 0.06 ± 0.02 of $K^0$'s and Λ's from charm production is included. Upper limits for D-meson production are given and the shape of the charmed quark fragmentation function is discussed. Inclusive production of the K ∗ (890) and Σ(1385) resonances is measured and it is shown that only about 5% of the K 0 mesons and Λ hyperons results from resonance decays. Relative production rates of neutral strange particles on proton and neutron targets are studied.

We report on an experiment in which the SLAC 40-in. hybrid facility was exposed to an 8.8-GeV/c antiproton beam. Using external detectors we have identified a large fraction of nonannihilation events and thus obtained a clean sample of annihilation data. Using proton interactions taken in the same detector at the same energy we have made a detailed study of (p¯p−pp) differences and explored their relationship to p¯p annihilations.

Absolute inclusive cross sections for\(\bar pp\) interactions at 7.3 GeV/c are given. The data cover prong cross sections,V0, γ production and inclusive charged particle (p/π) production. Separation has been made into annihilation and non-annihilation components. Measurements of multihadron production in e+e− annihilation at center-of-mass energies between 2.6 and 7.8 GeV are presented. Aside from the narrow resonances ψ(3095) and ψ(3684), the total hadronic cross section is found to be approximately 2.7 times the cross section for the production of muon pairs at c.m. energies below 3.7 GeV and 4.3 times the muon-pair cross section at c.m. energies above 5.5 GeV. Complicated structure is found at intermediate energies. Charged-particle multiplicities and inclusive momentum distributions are presented.

The inclusive production of Ξ − and Ξ ∗0 (1530) is investigated in K − p interactions at 10 and 16 GeV/ c . The inclusive production cross sections are 172 ± 20 μ b and 135 ± 15 μ b for the Ξ − , and 43 ± 7 μ b and 32 ± 5 μ b for the Ξ ∗0 (1530) at 10 and 16 GeV /c , respectively. In the beam momentum range up to 16 GeV/ c , the energy dependence of the cross section for Ξ − production in K − p interactions is similar to Σ − production in π − p interactions. It is, instead, different from the energy behaviour of Σ − production cross sections observed in π − p interactions. The Ξ − and Ξ ∗0 (1530) are both produced more in the forward ( x > 0) than in the backward hemisphere, indicating the presence of hyperon-exchange processes.
