A single-spin asymmetry in the inclusive π 0 production at small x F was measured. In the experiment 40 GeV/c π − mesons were incident on transversely polarized protons and deutrons. An asymmetry of (40–50)% has been revealed in the hard scattering region.

Nucl.Phys.B 195 (1982) 189-202, 1982.
Inspire Record 167734 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34176

Results are presented on the inclusive photoproduction of λ and λ for incident photon energies between 25 and 70 GeV. The slope parameter of the p T 2 distribution is found to be 2.83±0.1 GeV −2 for λ and 3.28±0.25 GeV −2 for λ . The x F distributions, measured in the range −0.2 to 0.7, show that while λ are produced centrally, λ production extends to more negative values of x F ; the shapes show no energy dependence and are similar to those in pion-induced reactions. The polarization of the produced λ is less than 10%. The results are discussed in terms of vector dominance and quark fusion models.

Measurement of the Polarization Parameter in 24-{GeV}/$c P P$ Elastic Scattering at Large Momentum Transfers

Antille, J. ; Dick, L. ; Werlen, M. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 185 (1981) 1-19, 1981.
Inspire Record 170364 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34279

A measurement of the polarization parameter P 0 in pp elastic scattering has been made at 24 GeV/ c over the range of momentum transfer squared 0.7 < | t | < 5.0 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The structure of P 0 has changed compared to typical lower energy data. The second peak is suppressed and a dip has appeared at | t | = 3.6 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

Measurement of Diffractive 3 $\pi$ Production on a Polarized Target at 17-{GeV}/$c$

Chabaud, V. ; de Groot, J. ; Hyams, B. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 178 (1981) 401-420, 1981.
Inspire Record 154064 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34349

The reaction π − p↑→ π − π + π − p has been measured at 17 GeV/ c using a polarized target. The data sample contains about 60 000 interactions on polarized protons. The nucleon polarization as a function of momentum transfer is very similar to elastic π − p scattering and is nearly independent of the π mass, except for a possible structure around 1.2 GeV.

A PRODUCTION IN K- P INTERACTIONS AT 32-GeV/c. FRANCE-SOVIET UNION AND CERN-SOVIET UNION COLLABORATIONS

Nucl.Phys.B 173 (1980) 154-174, 1980.
Inspire Record 158995 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.34463

Lambda production is studied in K − p interactions at 32 GeV/ c . The total Λ cross section is 2.31±0.03 mb . Using the measured Λγ combinations we find that (31±4)% of all Λ's are produced via the Σ 0 → Λγ decay. About 60% of the Λ's are associated with either a N N or K K pair; about 40% of the Λ's are produced through the hypercharge annihiltion reaction K − p→ Λ + π 'a. The two-peak structure of the invariant x distribution can be related to fragmentation processes. The Λ is found to be unpolarized in the target fragmentation region, whereas a transverse polarization is observed for forward produced Λ's. As a function of p ⊥, a polarization effect is measured at medium p ⊥.

Polarized Photon Asymmetries in K+ Photoproduction at 16-GeV

Quinn, D.J. ; Rutherfoord, J.P. ; Shupe, M.A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 34 (1975) 543, 1975.
Inspire Record 100595 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21241

Using a 16-GeV linearly polarized photon beam, we have measured asymmetries in the process γN→K+(Λ+Σ) from hydrogen and deuterium, for square of four-momentum transfer, t, between -0.01 and -0.8 (GeV/c)2. The data show that for −t≳0.1 (GeV/c)2, the cross sections for γp→K+Λ, γp→K+Σ0, and γn→K+Σ− are strongly dominated by natural-parity exchange, as is the case in single-pion photoproduction.

ASYMMETRIES IN CHARGED PION PHOTOPRODUCTION ON NUCLEONS BY 16-GeV POLARIZED PHOTONS

Sherden, D. ; Siemann, R. ; Sinclair, Charles K. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 30 (1973) 1230, 1973.
Inspire Record 81026 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.21357

Asymmetries in charged-pion photoproduction from hydrogen and deuterium have been measured with 16-GeV linearly polarized photons. Considerable energy dependence is seen in the natural-parity contribution to the π−π+ ratio from deuterium, and in the unnatural-parity part of the cross section for γn→π−p. The energy dependence of this latter cross section is consistent with the expected from a conventional pion Regge trajectory.

Phys.Lett.B 94 (1980) 523-526, 1980.
Inspire Record 153785 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.27175

The spin dependence of π 0 inclusive production by 24 GeV/ c protons has been measured using a polarized target for Fhe Feynman x near 0 in the transverse momentum range 1.0 < p T < 2.5 GeV/ c . The results indicate a negative updown asymmetry growing strongly with p T and greater than 50% in absolute value for p T greater than 2 GeV/ c .
