Study of $\psi$ decays to the $\Xi^{-}\bar\Xi^{+}$ and $\Sigma(1385)^{\mp}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{\pm}$ final states

We study the decays of the charmonium resonances $J/\psi$ and $\psi(3686)$ to the final states $\Xi^{-}\bar\Xi^{+}$, $\Sigma(1385)^{\mp}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{\pm}$ based on a single baryon tag method using data samples of $(223.7 \pm 1.4) \times 10^{6}$ $J/\psi$ and $(106.4 \pm 0.9) \times 10^{6}$ $\psi(3686)$ events collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider. The decay $\psi(3686)\rightarrow\Sigma(1385)^{\mp}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{\pm}$ is observed for the first time, and the measurements of the other processes, including the branching fractions and angular distributions, are in good agreement with and much more precise than the previously published results. Additionally, the ratios $\frac{{\cal{B}}(\psi(3686)\rightarrow\Xi^{-}\bar\Xi^{+})}{{\cal{B}}(J/\psi\rightarrow\Xi^{-}\bar\Xi^{+})}$, $\frac{{\cal{B}}(\psi(3686)\rightarrow\Sigma(1385)^{-}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{+})}{{\cal{B}}(J/\psi\rightarrow\Sigma(1385)^{-}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{+})}$ and $\frac{{\cal{B}}(\psi(3686)\rightarrow\Sigma(1385)^{+}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{-})}{{\cal{B}}(J/\psi\rightarrow\Sigma(1385)^{+}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{-})}$ are determined.

Precision Study of $\eta^\prime\rightarrow\gamma\pi^+\pi^-$ Decay Dynamics

Using a low background data sample of $9.7\times10^{5}$ $J\psi\rightarrow\gamma\eta^\prime$, $\eta^\prime\rightarrow\gamma\pi^+\pi^-$ events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of $\eta^\prime\rightarrow\gamma\pi^+\pi^-$ are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of $\omega$ and the $\rho(770)-\omega$ interference are observed for the first time in the decays $\eta^\prime\rightarrow\gamma\pi^+\pi^-$ in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the $\rho(1450)$ resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.

Measurement of cross sections for $e^{+}e^{-} \rightarrow \mu^+\mu^-$ at center-of-mass energies from 3.80 to 4.60 GeV

The observed cross sections for $e^+e^-\rightarrow \mu^+\mu^-$ at energies from 3.8 to 4.6 GeV are measured using data samples taken with the BESIII detector operated at the BEPCII collider. We measure the muonic widths and determine the branching fractions of the charmonium states $\psi(4040)$, $\psi(4160)$, and $\psi(4415)$ decaying to $\mu^+\mu^-$, as well as making a first determination of the phase of the amplitudes. In addition, we observe evidence for a structure in the dimuon cross section near 4.220 GeV/$c^2$, which we denote as $S(4220)$. Analyzing a coherent sum of amplitudes yields eight solutions, one of which gives a mass of ${M}_{S(4220)}=4216.7 \pm 8.9 \pm 4.1$~MeV/$c^2$, a total width of ${\rm \Gamma^{\rm tot}_{S(4220)}}=47.2 \pm 22.8 \pm 10.5$~MeV, and a muonic width of ${\rm \Gamma}^{\mu\mu}_{S(4220)}=1.53\pm1.26\pm0.54$~keV, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The eight solutions give the central values of the mass, total width, muonic width to be, respectively, in the range from 4212.8 to 4219.4 MeV/$c^2$, from 36.4 to 49.6 MeV, and from 1.09 to 1.53 keV. The statistical significance of the $S(4220)$ signal is $3.9\sigma$. Correcting the total dimuon cross section for radiative effects yields a statistical significance for this structure of more than $7\sigma$.

Precision measurement of the matrix elements for $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ and $\eta\to\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0$ decays

A precision measurement of the matrix elements for $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ and $\eta\to\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0$ decays is performed using a sample of $(10087\pm44)\times10^6$$J/\psi$ decays collected with the BESIII detector. The decay $J/\psi \to \gamma \eta$ is used to select clean samples of 631,686 $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ decays and 272,322 $\eta\to\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0$ decays. The matrix elements for both channels are in reasonable agreement with previous measurements. The non-zero $gX^2Y$ term for the decay mode $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ is confirmed, as reported by the KLOE Collaboration, while the other higher-order terms are found to be insignificant. Dalitz plot asymmetries in the $\eta\to\pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$ decay are also explored and are found to be consistent with charge conjugation invariance. In addition, a cusp effect is investigated in the $\eta\to\pi^0\pi^0\pi^0$ decay, and no obvious structure around the $\pi^+\pi^-$ mass threshold is observed.

Observation of $e^+e^- \rightarrow \omega \chi_{c1,2}$ near $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.42 and 4.6 GeV

Based on data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII storage ring at center-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s} >$ 4.4 GeV, the processes $e^+e^- \rightarrow \omega \chi_{c1,2}$ are observed for the first time. With an integrated luminosity of $1074 pb^{-1}$ near $\sqrt{s} =$ 4.42 GeV, a significant $\omega \chi_{c2}$ signal is found, and the cross section is measured to be $(20.9 \pm 3.2 \pm 2.5)\pb$. With $567 pb^{-1}$ near $\sqrt{s} =$ 4.6 GeV, a clear $\omega \chi_{c1}$ signal is seen, and the cross section is measured to be $(9.5 \pm 2.1 \pm 1.3) \pb$, while evidence is found for an $\omega \chi_{c2}$ signal. The first errors are statistical and the second are systematic. Due to low luminosity or low cross section at other energies, no significant signals are observed. In the $\omega \chi_{c2}$ cross section, an enhancement is seen around $\sqrt{s} =$ 4.42 GeV. Fitting the cross section with a coherent sum of the $\psi(4415)$ Breit-Wigner function and a phase space term, the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(\psi(4415)\to\omega\chi_{c2})$ is obtained to be of the order of $10^{-3}$.

Measurement of the $\mathrm e^+\mathrm e^-\rightarrow\mathrm\pi^+\mathrm\pi^-$ Cross Section between 600 and 900 MeV Using Initial State Radiation

In Phys. Lett. B 753, 629-638 (2016) [arXiv:1507.08188] the BESIII collaboration published a cross section measurement of the process $e^+e^-\to \pi^+ \pi^-$ in the energy range between 600 and 900 MeV. In this erratum we report a corrected evaluation of the statistical errors in terms of a fully propagated covariance matrix. The correction also yields a reduced statistical uncertainty for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon, which now reads as $a_\mu^{\pi\pi\mathrm{, LO}}(600 - 900\,\mathrm{MeV}) = (368.2 \pm 1.5_{\rm stat} \pm 3.3_{\rm syst})\times 10^{-10}$. The central values of the cross section measurement and of $a_\mu^{\pi\pi\mathrm{, LO}}$, as well as the systematic uncertainties remain unchanged.
