We present a new measurement of the K L -K S mass difference ( Δm ) using semileptonic decays of neutral kaons. The measurement yields Δm = (0.5274 ± 0.0029 stat. ± 0.0005 syst. ) × 10 10 ħ/s.

We study the production characteristics of 557 pairs of charmed hadrons produced in $\pi~{-}-Cu$\ interactions at 230GeV/c using a momentum estimator for charmed hadrons with missing decay products. We find, the mean value of the transverse momentum squared of the charmed pairs is $<$\pts$>=(1.98\pm 0.11\pm 0.09)\;$ GeV$~2$/c$~2$, the mean rapidity difference is $<|$\yd$|>=0.54\pm 0.02\pm 0.24$, and the mean effective mass is $<$\mef$>=(4.45\pm 0.03\pm 0.13)\;$ GeV/c$~2$. Comparing these results with the next-to-leading order QCD predictions we find an agreement for the \yd\ and \mef, whilst the measured mean value of \pts\ is significantly larger than the predicted value.

In the CERN NA32 experiment a high-resolution silicon vertex detector and a purely topological approach were used to collect 557 events consistent with associated charm production, both decay vertices being observed. The pseudorapidity gap distribution appears to be nearly independent of the nature of the charmed hadrons. This distribution is reasonably consistent with the next-to-leading order QCD calculations. However the azimuthal-angle distribution is significantly broader than the above predictions.
FOR ONLY 20 EVENTS IN WICH BOTH DECAYS ARE FULLY RECONSTRUCTED ( 26 D0 , 8 D+ , 5 D/S+ , 1 LAMBDA/C+ CHARMED PARTICLES ).

Antiproton induced fission probabilities of U238, Bi209, Pb208 and Au177 are reported together with the mass distribution of the fission fragments in the U238 and Bi209 cases. The charged particles multiplicities observed in co-incidence with fission have, also, been measured for U and Bi and are presented.

Results are presented on the production characteristics of charmed particles obtained from the WA75 emulsion hybrid experiment. The events, selected by the presence of a muon with a high momentum transverse to the beam direction, were located and analysed in nuclear emulsions. Inclusive and correlation properties are systematically compared with the lowest-order QCD calculations for DD hadroproduction. Results concerning the correlation properties indicate some contribution from next-to-leading order [O(α_S^3)] subprocesses.

We have determined mW=79.91±0.39 GeV/c2 from an analysis of W→eν and W→μν data from the Collider Detector at Fermilab in p¯p collisions at a c.m. energy of √s =1.8 TeV. This result, together with the world-average Z mass, determines the weak mixing angle to be sin2θW=0.232±0.008. Bounds on the top-quark mass are discussed.
Combining W mass result with world-average Z mass (91.191 GEV).

Narrow states observable through the emission of monoenergetic charged pions have been searched for in p p annihilation at rest in a gaseous hydrogen target where annihilation from atomic angular momentum L = 1 states dominates. No structure is observed. The 5σ upper limit for the production of narrow states in the mass range 1100–1670 MeV is 2 × 10 −3 of all annihilations.
X means a narrow state.
