The reactionp→Δ(1236)\(\bar \Delta \)(1236) is studied at 7.23 GeV/c and at 12GeV/c in terms of the OPE model of Wolf. Good agreement between the model and experimental data is found for the mass andt distributions whereas for decay angular distributions the agreement is less satisfactory. A modified model, allowing for a spin orbit coupling, gives good agreement also for the angular distribution.

CROSS SECTION FOR -T < 0.14 GEV**2.
π−-photoproduction cross sections from neutrons have been measured with a deuterium target at effective γ-energies from 900 to 1,800 MeV and pion centre-of-mass angles 65 to 125°. The outgoing pion and proton were detected in coincidence, the pion with a magnetic spectrometer and the proton with a time-of-flight system. To test the reliability of the analysis method, a comparison of π+-photoproduction from protons and deuterons was made with a slightly modified apparatus. It was found adequate to use the spectator model with a Huthèn wave function.

The Fermilab 15-ft bubble chamber, filled with a heavy neon-hydrogen mix, was exposed to a narrow-band νμ beam. Based on the observation of 830 charged-current νμ interactions, the cross section was found consistent with a linear rise with the neutrino energy in the interval 10 GeV<~Eν≲240 GeV. The average slope was determined to be σνEν=(0.62±0.05)×10−38 cm2 GeV−1.

Absolute inclusive cross sections for\(\bar pp\) interactions at 7.3 GeV/c are given. The data cover prong cross sections,V0, γ production and inclusive charged particle (p/π) production. Separation has been made into annihilation and non-annihilation components. Inclusive π+, π− production in the processes of\(\bar pp\) annihilation and non-annihilation are compared with simple quark models.

We have measured, at an average centre-of-mass energy of 34.22 GeV a forward-backward charge asymmetry in the reaction e + e − → μ + μ − of value −0.161 ± 0.032. This demonstrates the existence of an axial vector neutral current with coupling strength of g e a g μ a =0.53 ± 0.10. We have also obtained a limit on the vector coupling strength of g e v g μ v <0.12. The Weinberg angle is found to be sin 2 θ W =0.29 +0.09 −0.11 . From the reaction e + e − → τ + τ − we have found g e a g τ a <0.34, g e v g τ v <0.55.

Results are presented on the inclusive production of π± mesons and protons in\(\bar p\)p interactions at an incident antiproton momentum of 32 GeV/c in the MIRABELLE bubble chamber, based on a sample of 55,000 inelastic events. The spectra of π+(π−) andp(\(\bar p\)) are separated in the whole kinematically admitted region of phase space by a statistical method. The semi-inclusive and inclusive cross sections and the main average characteristics of π andp production are calculated. The invariant differential cross sections are studied as functions of the Fevnman scaling variablex, the rapidity and the transverse momentum. Thex distribution of π± mesons in the proton fragmentation region does not show any significant contribution from quark exchange or annihilation processes. A possible contribution of hard quark scattering on mesons or baryons is observed for large transverse momenta.
