Energy, charge and strangeness flow inK+p interactions at 32 and 70 GeV/c, and π+p interactions at 32 GeV/c are studied in terms of the angular variable λ=|x|/pT. The data ondQ/dλ anddE/dλ show only a weak indication of scale breaking between 32 and 70 GeV/c. For inclusive “non-diffractive”, inclusive “diffractive” and exclusive “non-diffractive” jets, the fraction of charge in any angular region ΔΩ away from the central region is found to be proportional to the energy fraction in the same interval. The data ondQ/dE versus λ are compatible with some versions of dual-sheet models and agree also with the LUND Monte-Carlo model. The data are also compared with\(v(\bar v)p\) interactions in BEBC. In exclusive channels the average ratiodQ/dS=0.78±0.04 is consistent, in the framework of fragmentation models, with a larger probability for the fragmentation of the\(\bar s\)-valence quark than theu-valence quark in theK+-meson.

We have measured a parity violation in the 6S–7S transition of Cs in an electric field. Our result is Im E 1 pv β = -1.34 ± 0.22 ( rms statistical deviation ) ± ∼0.11 ( systematic uncertainty ) mV cm; E 1 pv is the parity violating electric dipole amplitude, ß is the vector polarizability. This result is consistent with the Weinberg-Salam prediction.

Measurements of the differential elastic cross sections for π − p scattering at incident momenta of 20 and 50 GeV c and π + p at 50 GeV c in the momentum transfer range 0.7 < |t|; < 8.0 ( GeV c ) 2 are presented. The data are compared with various models of elastic scattering.

The invariant cross sections for π 0 meson production in alpha—alpha and alpha—proton collisions at the ISR were meas- ured up to transverse momenta of 7 GeV c and 8 GeV c , respectively. These measurements are compared with π 0 production in pp collisions at the same values of s / nucleon, and the variation of the nuclear A -dependence with p T is determined.

First results on the measurement of the elastic and total cross section at the CERN pp̄ Collider are presented. Combining the measurement of elastic scattering at low momentum transfer with the rate of inelastic interactions, a value of the total cross section of 66 mb with a 10% statistical error was obtained.

We have studied the topologies of hadronic events in e + e - annihilation data taken in the region of the upsilon resonances with the non-magnetic CUSB detectors at CESR. Using a thrust-like variable we compare the decay of ϒ, ϒ′ and ϒPrime; find for ϒ″ a significant excess of high thrust events, which we interpret as evidence for electric dipole transitions.

A high precision measurement of the υ-meson mass has been performed at the storage ring VEPP-4 using the MD-1 detector. The resonance depolarization method has been used for the absolute calibration of the beam energy that allowed to improve the accuracy of υ-mass measurement by a factor of ten. The following mass value has been obtained: M = 9459.7 ± 0.6 MeV.
