The pion electromagnetic form factor has been measured at the VEPP-2M collider in the c.m. energy range 360 MeV–1400 MeV with the detectors OLYA and CMD. On the basis of all available data for the pion form factor collected in the timelike region, the following values for ρ-meson parameters were obtained: m ρ = 775.9 ± 1.1 MeV, σ ρ = 150.5 ± 3.0 MeV. The ω-meson branching ratio into π + π − pair, electromagnetic radius of the pion, ππ scattering length in the P-wave and the strong interaction contribution to the muon ( g − 2) value were found to be B ωππ = (2.3 ± 0.4)%, 〈 r π 2 〉 = 0.422 ± 0.013 fm 2 , a 1 1 = 0.033 ± 0.033m π −3 , a H = (68.4 ± 1.1) × 10 −9 .

We present a measurement of the production of muon pairs in 194 GeV/c π−-tungsten interactions. A sample of 155,000 events with mass higher than 4.07 GeV/c2 has been used to determine the differential cross-section as a function of the scaling variables\(\sqrt \tau\) andxF.

The cross section ${\rm d}^2\sigma/{\rm d}\sqrt{\tau}{\rm d}x$ integrated over each $\sqrt{\tau}$-$x_F$ cell as a function of $x_F$ for $\sqrt{\tau}$ = 0.21-0.24. The $\Upsilon$ region has been excluded. The integrated luminosity is $L = (8.58 \pm 0.53)\times 10^{37}$ [cm$^2$/W nucleus]$^{-1}$. Note that these data have been re-analysed by the NA10 experimenters using a better estimate of Fermi motion effects (see Tables 11-19 of this record).

PRIMAKOFF PRODUCTION OF THE B+ (1235) MESON

We have measured the coherent nuclear production of π+ω systems at 202.5 GeV. This final state is dominated by the B+(1235) meson with a measured mass and full width of 1.271 ± 0.011 GeV and 0.232 ± 0.029 GeV, respectively. A radiative width of 230 ± 60 keV was extracted for the process B+(1235)→π+γ.

We have studied 419 τ pair events produced in the reactione+e−→τ+ τ− at a c.m. energy of 34.6 GeV. We measure the cross section and angular distribution, as well as the decay branching ratios. The production characteristics are consistent with the Standard Electroweak Model predictions of γ andZ0 interference. The branching ratios are generally consistent with the τ decaying according to standard weak interaction principles, but we observe somewhat more decays resulting in single charged hadrons plus neutrals than are predicted by present theory.

The first observation of neutral pion production in π e inelastic scattering is presented. The cross section at 300 GeV for | t ‖>62;10 −3 (GeV / c ) 2 is 2.11 ± 0.47 nb, in good agreement with the theory of PCAC anomalies with 3 quark colours.

LIMITS ON CHARM PRODUCTION IN HADRONIC INTERACTIONS NEAR THRESHOLD

We present the results of an experiment to search for associated charm production near threshold in 13-GeV/c π−p interactions. A large aperture PWC spectrometer was sensitive to the decay fragments of the forward-produced D*−’s expected from the two-body reactions π−+p→D*−+Λc+,Σc +,. . . . The missing baryon mass was determined from the vector momenta of the incident pion and the candidate D*−. No evidence for these reactions was found, which resulted in a 7-nb upper limit (95% confidence level) for each of the cross sections σ(π−p→D*−Λc+) and σ(π−p→D*−Σc+).

12,100 νD and 10,500\(\bar vD\) charged current interactions in deuterium measured in the BEBC bubble chamber were used to obtain the complete set of structure functions of proton and neutron. Thex andQ2 dependence of the structure functions of up and down valence quarks and antiquarks are presented and discussed. The Adler and Gross-Llewellyn Smith sum rules have been tested at differentQ2 values. A QCD analysis of the four non singlet structure functionsxF3νN,xuv,xdv andF2νn−F2νp has been performed yielding values ofΛLO between 100 and 300 MeV.

Bose-Fermi U(6/2J+1) Supersymmetries And High-Spin Anomalies

Morrison, I. ; Jarvis, Peter D. ;
Nucl.Phys.A 435 (1985) 461-476, 1985.
Inspire Record 212932 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.17659

A supersymmetric extension of the interacting boson model (IBM) is constructed to describe high-spin anomalies in both even- and odd-mass spectra of the Hg, Pt region (190 ⩽ A ⩽ 200). Supergroup chains such as U ( 6 2j + 1 ) ⊃ Osp ( 6 2j + 1 ) ⊃ O (6) × Sp ( 6 2j + 1 )… U ( 6 2j + 1 ) ⊃ U ( 5 2j + 1 ) ⊃ Osp ( 5 2j + 1 )… incorporate a single j -shell fermion in addition to the usual “s” and “d” bosons ( L = 0 and L = 2). The orthosympletic supergroup reflects the strong pairing force in the subspace of the fermion intruder level. The model agrees favourably with experiment and microscopic calculation.
