The differential cross section of $d\sigma(e~+e~-\rightarrow e~+e~-D~{*\pm}X)/dP_T$ was measured using a soft-pion analysis of $D~{*\pm}\rightarrow \pi_s~\pm D~0(\overline{D~0})$ at TRISTAN. The average $\sqrt{s}$ was 58.1 GeV and the integrated luminosity used in this analysis was 198 pb$~{-1}$, respectively.

Global properties of the hadronic final state in deep inelastic scattering events at HERA are investigated. The data are corrected for detector effects and are compared directly with QCD phenomenology. Energy flows in both the laboratory frame and the hadronic centre of mass system and energy-energy correlations in the laboratory frame are presented. Comparing various QCD models, the colour dipole model provides the only satisfactory description of the data. In the hadronic centre of mass system the momentum components of charged particles longitudinal and transverse to the virtual boson direction are measured and compared with lower energy lepton-nucleon scattering data as well as withe+e− dat from LEP.
Overall systematic error of 6 pct not included.
Corrected transverse energy-energy correlation TEEC as a function of omega (see text of paper for definition of omega - which effectively defines the distance between hadrons in the pseudorapidity and azimuthal angle). Overall systematic error of 12 pct is not included.
Charged particle spectra as a function of the Feynman x variable for different ranges of the hadronic mass W.
Cross sections are presented for the inclusive production of charged particles measured in electron-proton collisions at low Q 2 with the H1 detector at HERA. The transverse momentum distribution extends up to 8 GeV/ c . Its shape is found to be harder than that observed in p p collisions at comparable centre-of-mass energies √S γp ≈ √S p p ≈ 200 GeV , and also harder than in γp collisions at lower energies √ S γp ≈ 18 GeV. Results from quantum chromodynamics (QCD) calculations agree with the measured transverse momentum and pseudorapidity cross sections.

: We have measured the spin-dependent structure function $g_1~p$ of the proton in deep inelastic scattering of polarized muons off polarized protons, in the kinematic range $0.003<x<0.7$ and $1\,\mbox{GeV}~2<Q~2<60\,\mbox{GeV}~2$. Its first moment, $\int_0~1 g_1~p(x) dx $, is found to be $0.136 \pm 0.011\,(\mbox{stat.})\pm 0.011\,(\mbox{syst.})$ at $Q~2=10\,\mbox{GeV}~2$. This value is smaller than the prediction of the Ellis--Jaffe sum rule by two standard deviations, and is consistent with previous measurements. A combined analysis of all available proton, deuteron and neutron data confirms the Bjorken sum rule to within $10\%$ of the theoretical value.

Data for g1 at fixed Q**2 = 10 GeV (assuming no Q**2 dependence of A1).
Data from deep inelastic scattering of 200 GeV muons on a carbon target with squared four-momentum transfer 52 GeV2≤Q2≤200 GeV2 were analysed in the region of the Bjorken variable close tox=1, which is the kinematic limit for scattering on a free nucleon. At this value ofx, the carbon structure function is found to beF2C≈1.2·10−4. Thex dependence of the structure function forx>0.8 is well described by an exponentialF2C∞exp(−sx) withs=16.5±0.6.

Multiplicative factors by which F2 has to be multiplied or divided to allow for a systematic uncertainty in detector resolution.
Multiplicative factors by which F2 has to be multiplied or divided to allow for a systematic uncertainty in the beam energy.
We measured the spin asymmetry in the scattering of 100 GeV longitudinally-polarized muons on transversely polarized protons. The asymmetry was found to be compatible with zero in the kinematic range $0.006<x<0.6$, $1<Q~2<30\,\mbox{GeV}~2$. {}From this result we derive the upper limits for the virtual photon--proton asymmetry $A_2$, and for the spin structure function $g_2$. For $x<0.15$, $A_2$ is significantly smaller than its positivity limit $\sqrt{R}$.

We have measured the ratio g1pF1p over the range 0.029<x<0.8 and 1.3<Q2<10 (GeV/c)2 using deep-inelastic scattering of polarized electrons from polarized ammonia. An evaluation of the integral ∫01g1p(x, Q2)dx at fixed Q2=3 (GeV/c)2 yields 0.127±0.004(stat)±0.010(syst), in agreement with previous experiments, but well below the Ellis-Jaffe sum rule prediction of 0.160±0.006. In the quark-parton model, this implies Δq=0.27±0.10.

Values of G1 computed assuming G1/F1 is independent of Q**2 and using a fixed Q**2 of 3 GeV**2.
Nuclear transparencies measured in exclusive incoherent ρ0 meson production from hydrogen, deuterium, carbon, calcium, and lead in muon-nucleus scattering are reported. The data were obtained with the E665 spectrometer using the Fermilab Tevatron muon beam with a mean beam energy of 470 GeV. Increases in the nuclear transparencies are observed as the virtuality of the photon increases, in qualitative agreement with the expectations of color transparency.

The ZEUS detector has been used to measure the proton structure functionF2. During 1993 HERA collided 26.7 GeV electrons on 820 GeV protons. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 0.54 pb−1, representing a twenty fold increase in statistics compared to that of 1992. Results are presented for 7<Q2<104 GeV2 andx values as low as 3×10−4. The rapid rise inF2 asx decreases observed previously is now studied in greater detail and persists forQ2 values up to 500 GeV2.

The transverse-longitudinal asymmetry ATL′ in He→3(e→, e′) quasielastic scattering at momentum transfer Q2=0.14 (GeV/c)2 has been measured to be 1.52 ± 0.55(stat) ± 0.15(syst)%. The plane wave impulse approximation (PWIA) prediction for this measurement ranges from 2.1% to 2.9%, where the variation is due to uncertainty in the initial state wave function, nucleon form factors, and off-shell prescription. The data may suggest a suppression with respect to the PWIA, which has also been observed for the unpolarized longitudinal response function.
