Nucl.Phys.B 214 (1983) 1-20, 1983.
Inspire Record 192453 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.33966

Absolute differential cross sections for pp elastic scattering have been measured at kinetic energies of 648, 746, 795, 843, 892, 942 and 992 MeV and for momentum transfer 0.006 < z . sfnctz . sfnc <0.040 (GeV/ c ) 2 . Both scattered and recoil protons were detected in coincidence. The slope parameters of the diffraction cone and the contribution of the spin-spin amplitudes to forward elastic pp scattering were determined.

MEASUREMENT OF THE TOTAL CROSS-SECTION DIFFERENCE DELTA (SIGMA-L) (P P IN THE ENERGY RANGE FROM 0.52-GEV TO 2.8-GEV

Bystricky, J. ; Chaumette, P. ; Deregel, J. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 142 (1984) 130-134, 1984.
Inspire Record 206656 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30540

The total cross section difference Δα L (pp) for proton-proton scattering with beam and target polarized longitudinally parallel and antiparallel, respectively, has been measured using the polarized proton beam from SATURNE II and a frozen spin polarized proton target. The beam polarization was reversed from pulse to pulse, and at each energy Δα L was measured for both signs of target polarization. The data below 800 MeV confirm the previously observed structures. The cross section difference is found to change by 8.0 ± 0.5 mb between 520 MeV and 760 MeV. At the higher energies the results show no indication for similar structures or for a change of the sign of Δα L .

The absolute luminosity of the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings has been determined by the Van der Meer method. Combining the measurement with small angle proton-proton elastic events, we find σ elastic = (6.8±0.6)mb.

In this paper we present tables of absolute differential cross sections of elastic pp scattering together with the values of the slope parameter B and the real-part parameter α, where B= d d t In dσ d t α= Re A(0) Im A(0) and A (0) is the amplitude of elastic pp scattering at t = 0. The cross-section data have been obtained at the Serpukhov accelerator from 8 to 70 GeV in the | t |-range 0.0007 − 0.12 (GeV/ c ) 2 .

Impact Parameter Interpretation of Proton Proton Scattering from a Critical Review of All ISR Data

Amaldi, U. ; Schubert, Klaus R. ;
Nucl.Phys.B 166 (1980) 301-320, 1980.
Inspire Record 144184 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.7940

This paper contains a critical review of all the data produced at the ISR on proton-proton elastic scattering and total cross sections. This coherent and complete set of data is used to compute the impact parameter distribution of the proton-proton inelastic overlap integral. This impact parameter analysis has smaller errors than any other previously made, and confirms the good agreement with the geometrical scaling model while strongly disagreeing with models based on factorizing eikonals. For the first time we find indications of a second contribution to the peripheral rising of the proton-proton cross section in a region around 2.2 fm.
