We have measured large-angle electron-positron pairs from the reaction γ +Be → Be+e + +e − in the e + e − invariant-mass region of 610 < m < 850 MeV/ c 2 . The phase of the photoproduction amplitude of the ϱ-meson at 4.1 – 6.1 GeV was found to deviate from pure imaginary by 11.8° ± 4.4° which corresponds to a ratio of the real to imaginary ϱ-nucleon amplitude of β = −0.2 ± 0.1.

Determination of the proton proton elastic cross-section at 30-GeV center-of-mass energy

Phys.Lett.B 35 (1971) 361-364, 1971.
Inspire Record 69227 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28484

The absolute luminosity of the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings has been determined by the Van der Meer method. Combining the measurement with small angle proton-proton elastic events, we find σ elastic = (6.8±0.6)mb.

Proton proton total cross-sections between 179 and 555 mev

Phys.Lett.B 35 (1971) 243-246, 1971.

Proton-proton total cross-sections have been measured at nine different energies between 179 and 555 MeV (607 and 1162 MeV/ c ) with a typical accuracy of 0.9%. The accuracy is limited by a poor knowledge of the Coulomb-nuclear interference region in elastic scattering.

Measurement of the polarization parameter in k+ p elastic scattering at 1.60, 1.80, 2.11 and 2.31 gev/c

Barnett, B.A. ; Laasanen, A.T. ; Steinberg, P.H. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 34 (1971) 655-658, 1971.
Inspire Record 69281 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28513

The polarization parameter for K + p elastic scattering has been measured at 1.60, 1.80, 2.11 and 3.31 GeV/ c incident momenta over the entire angular range with an emphasis on the backward region. The results in the extreme backward region appear to be small and consistent with zero.

Backward rho+ production in pi+ p reactions at 5.2 gev/c

Carlson, P.J. ; Fleury, P. ; Lundby, A. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 33 (1970) 502-504, 1970.
Inspire Record 69380 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28538

Using wire spark chambers we have observed the backward production of ϱ + mesons in the reaction π + p → p (missing mass) at 5.2 GeV/ c . In the four-momentum interval −0.80 < u < −0.006 (GeV/ c ) 2 the angular distribution shows a backward peak. In contrast to backward π + p elastic scattering, there is no dip in the angular distribution at u ≈ −0.15 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The ϱ + decay is found to be compatible with isotropy.

Evidence for b(1220) production in an analysis of the reaction k- d ---> p(s) lambda pi+ pi- pi- pi0 at 3 gev/c

The SABRE collaboration Hoogland, W. ; Kluyver, J.C. ; De Vries, T. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 33 (1970) 631-634, 1970.
Inspire Record 69351 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28535

In an analysis of the reaction K − n →Λ4π at 3 GeV c we find evidence for the production of the B(1220) resonance, mainly decaying in ωπ. For the mass and width we find (1236 ± 15) MeV c 2 and (132±20) MeV c 2 respectively. The cross section for the reaction K − n→ Λ +B(1220) is found to be (102±26) μ b.

Small momentum transfer pi+ production with linearly polarized photons

Burfeindt, H. ; Buschhorn, G. ; Geweniger, C. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 33 (1970) 509-510, 1970.
Inspire Record 69381 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28537

Previous measurements of the cross section asymmetry for single π + production on protons with linearly polarized photons of 3.4 GeV have been extended to momentum transfers within the forward peak, i.e. − = 0.0026, 0.006 and 0.01 (GeV/ c ) 2 . The results are in good agreement with pion exchange models.

Elastic scattering of positive pions on polarized protons between 0.82 and 2.74 gev/c

Albrow, M.G. ; Andersson-Almehed, S. ; Bosnjakovic, B. ; et al.
Nucl.Phys.B 25 (1970) 9-48, 1971.
Inspire Record 68844 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.7102

Polarization and differential cross-section data for elastic scattering of positive pions on protons between 0.82 and 2.74 GeV/ c are presented. A dip in the polarization, at constant u ≈ −0.65 GeV 2 , is observed. The data are compared with published phase-shift analyses.

Observation of small angle proton proton elastic scattering at 30 gev and 45 gev center-of-mass energies

Holder, M. ; Radermacher, E. ; Staude, A. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 35 (1971) 355-360, 1971.
Inspire Record 69228 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.5781

Small angle elastic scattering events have been observed at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings. Directions of both particles as well as the collision vertex are reconstructed with the help of four sets of spark chambers, two for each of the two arms. The elastic nature of the events is demonstrated by a collinearity requirement. We find values for the (diffraction) slope parameter in disagreement with the simple linear extrapolation of lower energy (Surpukov) data.
